Be an interesting window, although we have to remember it’s not summer and winter is a tough market. Little may happen. I think any offers for miovski have to be considered with two things in mind, christian Ramirez and formation. I rate miovski highly but a 4-5 mill offer or more we snap that up. If we play 3-5-2 with Ramirez up front with Duk I think christian could do very well. Different type of player to miovski but still a very good one (if he wants to be here.) It’s funny, miovski seems a polished established player while we see duk as young raw talent, but they’re not far off the same age. Can see duk with us for longer, I think being fair, miovski is a step above us. I think getting coulson has to be a window priority, do early business. Pre contract or permanent now. He’s not been at his best of late but I believe thats injury related. He’s quality. Hopefully the World Cup break gives him time for full fitness. Can play left back, wing back, or left mid, given we’re not certain of formation I think he’s a good long term signing. Same for scales, would like us to pick him up, the noise around him has quietened, maybe we can get him permanently. Doubt that though. That then leads to the left central defender problem again. another right central defender is a must. Back 3 or 4, I think mccrorie has to be in midfield. Don’t see Stewart being benched, think he’s the middle of a 3 in goodwin’s eyes. If we go 4 at the back though with this signing added then Stewart isn’t 100% guaranteed to play every minute and competition for playing time is good. Don’t see the point in another right back if we’re committed to 3-5-2. We’ve got too many players, Richardson, Kennedy, Morris, mccrorie, Vinny, Roberts, Watkins etc can all play right, even McLennan if he returns, we need to offload. To be honest, would like to see us shed one or two of these first. a midfield 3 of ramadani barron and clarkson isn’t working in my eyes. As a result we bypass them too much and go long. It’s ramadani mccrorie and one more. To be honest I’d like the third to be clarkson short term then Ronan picked up now or summer. Ronan in clarkson’s place ASAP, we need that flair. Barron and clarkson aren’t a good combo and as I have, other too, think if punting Barron to Celtic to get scales is on, we do that. So, coulson and scales permanently, right central defender, and Ronan. That’s the winter business. If we can punt Kennedy, McLennan, Watkins, even Morris, then a right wing back/winger too.

Ooft, that’s another good goal. Hopefully there’s truth to the juve rumor. Anyone know the sell on clause?? congrats to the boy, good to see him doing well.
-
Just hope duk’s miss on half time doesn’t hurt us….. Need a second.
-
Interesting sub........
-
None of the 3 are given without VAR.
-
Facking VAR farce again.......
-
That's harsh. We've seen one season of Ramirez in a shit season, and less that 1/2 a season for Miovski. I rate both. Both score and miss chances, tough to separate.
-
I suppose I can offer something positive, two very David Beckham-esque passes cross field from Barron. Lovely balls.
-
Well that was a shit half. Only thing worse would be if we were down to 10. Maybe McCrorie can make that happen in the second half. 3-1 loss on the cards.
-
Would be nice to see something from Ramadani Barron or Clarkson. Not that anyone is much better but zero from the middle of the park so far...
-
Not two from Anderson, but you could be right........I hope! 2 down 16 mins in ffs.
-
Oh yes he is! Considine is slower than slow!
-
Taking a step back, I’m one who blasted mcinnes tactics for the negative sit in against Celtic and rangers. It rarely if ever worked. Goodwin tried the opposite and gets blasted, plus he went more with attack (our strength) than sit in and defend, our weakness. Was that really the wrong thing? I also didn’t see the game, only going by what I read, mainly from here. We’re far from good but it’s transition, frustrating to see the Huns lose when they blasted us, but hopefully goodwin learns from it for future league and cup games this year. PS - I don’t care what considine does this year and moving forward. He’s not good enough for us, is slower than Stewart, and while it’s easy to comment when he does good things, he’s a very limited old man now who makes mistakes. Move on.

It’s a funny old game saint. More goals in this.
-
He was onside, var checked that. And there’s keeper contact, var checked that. Took 5 mins ffs. But I think Duk is already diving and it’s not the contact that takes him down. Harsh. As for the retake, he was off his line so that’s the rules, but they are not always called and retaken.
-
1-0 penalty, absolute farce. VAR at its finest. But we benefit!
-
Lovely first touch and fine finish!
-
Yup. Sadly it’s a transitional year. With the new coach and a complete squad overhaul it’s a tough ask to get it right in a matter of weeks. On average at least half the signings won’t be good enough. I’d say this year it’s more of an assessment of goodwin and whether he has the ability to build and coach a squad.
-
That’s a very bold statement re mental toughness. How well do you know these players??
-
I don’t see two up top as the way forward, or three at the back. We just don’t have a strong enough midfield to play two up top. I think relying on two very lightweight center mids is a tough ask. i agree though, I don’t think we are far from a bad team. think we weren’t far away with a back 4 and ramadani and mccrorie in midfield. I hear very different opinions of mccrorie but early season he proved to be a very effective midfielder. miovski up top with Duk as the john Hewitt off the bench. where we have failed is wide and attacking mid. hayes continues to be our best winger and I see vinnie, kennedy, Watkins, and Morris as squad fillers, Morris in particular a panic buy. Still feel Ronan at 10 and another legit winger are needed. Maybe Roberts is the answer, but presently I’d rather see Duncan play over kennedy or Morris. I think Stewart is a tough one. I don’t see us enough to really judge but he seems a really good leader and a solid player, just not for us if we expect to be a top 3 team. Is he really much of an upgrade on ash Taylor??

Few observations. We’ve conceded 20 goals in the first 12 games of the league season. Awful. This has to be our worst defensive record in a long time. Last year was our worst season in a while and we conceded 46 in 38 games. We’re certainly on schedule to beat that! You can’t be a good team if you are shit defensively. And we are shit defensively. I commented last week 3-5-2 is not the answer, and Barron and clarkson in center mid is not the answer. We are starting to see more of a long ball team appearing again too and that means we’re less appealing to watch too, a priority of goodwin, and don’t keep the ball. Watched the first half, we couldn’t string passes together so lose possession and or belt it long. We are/were a decent passing team but the 3-5-2 and two up top seems to have brought about more long ball which doesn’t help us. Didn’t want goodwin as you all heard but I’m still giving him time given the squad overhaul. However, step one of with any good coach is to fix a team from losing goals, or at least become tougher to score on. We are worse. winter window is always a tough window so I expect little transfer help there. So we need quality coaching to improve us. We’re 12 games in plus the cup and I totally believe moving to the 3-5-2 has made us worse. Interesting times ahead. The league is weak, rangers and Celtic aside the league is not strong at all. A half decent coach with our money and squad should surely get us third. Even with our awful defense and inconsistent performance we’re 4th, go back to 4-2-3-1 and work on defending and 3rd is ours.
-
Bunch of line up changes for the Huns tonight. Injuries or resting players for us??
-
Saw the first hour and didn’t see us winning the game. Not a great performance but certainly a good result. Totally feel the 4-2-3-1 is the way to go, just don’t see our midfield strong enough, didn’t think much of Barron and clarkson in together there. While two up top is working ok I just don’t think midfield and defense is as solid. Mccrorie and ramadani ahead of them is our best bet, helps defense and midfield, plus I still feel an attacking creative 10 is still missing. A game like today needed that. I rate miovski highly, the service isn’t great, and I think we’re going more long ball again with two up top. Also funny to see the evolution of Duk, an overweight eyebrow raiser a couple of months ago! third and we cannot figure out our best lineup or formation, hope we see continuity soon.
-
First game I’ve seen in a while, not impressed so far. Besides a lovely finish from bojan, it’s been more Motherwell than us and they should have equalized. Don’t see Barron and clarkson as a good partnership, too similar, and they’ve been dominated in there. Barron understandably doesn’t look sharp. Think we miss the energy and drive of mccrorie in there. Hoping for an imprepoved second half, we are making them look decent, much like we did to Dundee utd.

Perhaps unfair but I don't see us enough these days, has anyone seen Shaydon Morris do.......anything positive......in any game??
