  1. Disappointed bavidge didn’t get the start, would love to see him get a good 25-30 mins or so today. No clue what to expect, Celtic conceded 4 this week, 1 point from 6, hope we have a go.
  2. Why are people thinking we’ll field a weakened side???? Pretty sure Robson will want to beat Celtic, and the chance is there. Other than bavidge in for miovski, no reason to change. Don’t buy or support play kennedy for example cos he’s leaving…
  3. Apparently we have a game tomorrow. Not sure what’s worse, no thread on the go or me too lazy to start a new one. anyway, no pressure game for us. Hope to see an attacking game like hibs and st mirren have done this last week with the tic. I’d love to see us start bavidge for the experience, why not? 2-2, duk and bavidge.
  4. Funny, I thought he looked super shakey to start with, especially coming off his line. Amazing what time and a solid defense can do!
  5. Just that it’s a clear red all day long yet var has to be involved to get the right decision. And right in front of the linesman. But if it was rangers would var even have looked? And what’s the reasoning behind them not being reduced to 9? Gogic is booked, keeps fouling, then commits what would be a yellow most games. Standard of reffing is awful in our league. Disjointed argument I know, just so over reffing and var these days.
  6. Got sacked by us and now gets United relegated. Quite a resume building season. Never wanted him as manager but seems a nice bloke who came across well in the media. Would like to see him given a chance to make things right at United but coming straight back up is a really tough ask.
  7. Shocking tackle on Miovski. Hoping it’s actually an ankle break as they fuse and heal stronger as compared to ligaments which can take longer. Straight red that makes a farce of refereeing and var yet again, plus really st mirren should have been down to nine if the ref applies the rules.
  8. With Nicky Devlin potentially on his way, who are the best of the rest that would improve our squad. Not by any means star signings or glamorous but SPL players, ideally a scot or two as well. Not Scottish but Jamie McGrath worth a look with United all but down?
  9. Considine never changed, he was always slow and made mistakes. We just had a period when we were the second then third best team in the league and we were a good attacking team. He had less to do and was less exposed. I think scales is quicker, more skilled, and will improve. i’d argue almost all of thought wtf when fat duk played his first game. Obviously we were all wrong but first impressions weren’t good.
  10. You really see that as an unrealistic point. Players get that all the time. It’s the mentality of the low life football fan and unfortunately we have them too. I get your point about feelings but some footie fans are so primitive in nature, if we have the opportunity to sign a free transfer that makes us better it’s short sighted to turn it down.
  11. Really, he hurt your feelings? The filth directed to so many players and you grudge him that. The guy made a decision to make more money and probably got death threats for it. The abuse fans directed at players, and refs, is beyond acceptable, I don’t see laughing and smiling after a goal as a deal breaker.
  12. Our signings will most likely end up dictating the formation. Get our first choice right and left back for example then it’s most likely a back 4. If we were to resign scales and pollock for example, we build around a back 3. We don’t have the funds to buy players to fit a system, we have to sign the best players we can afford and figure out the formation that suits them best. Sadly. we have to offload. We signed some shit last year and cannot afford a bloated squad. Plus we’ve seen with Goodwin, and last few games with Robson, a handful of guys can’t play for us. Morris Roberts Stewart Richardson Watkins polvara and Kennedy aren’t good enough and we don’t have the luxury to afford to keep them around. Possibly mylovic too. More than a handful. Id say we got it right with miovski duk Rama Roos, if we can get 4 more legit starters that’s a great start. Roos Macdonald Rama duk/miovski are the only legit starters we have, and I say it that way as I don’t see both duk and miovski here in august, we’ll cash one in. it’s essential we sign shinnie. We’ve seen his impact, a huge factor in our turnaround, and a huge hole when he’s been suspended. We’ve been pretty shit without him. I also think we continue the clarkson/Maddison/Christie strategy when we really shoot hard for a top loaner from the big English clubs as the creative midfielder (yes, Christie was Celtic), it may be expensive but if Morris and roberts are the best we can afford, this loanee is a massive signing. I’ll throw it out there and say Robson is a players coach and can inspire. Could vinnie do a job for him, #10 behind miovski? I think so. He’s still young and raw we have to remember, he’s got talent. I don’t give a shit that he signed for the Huns, I’d take Scott Wright back. I’d take arfield too even though he’s 34. Ralston, welsh, James Forrest, can we afford them? I’d use Barron as a chip to deal there.
  13. As compared to morris Richardson coulson markanday Stewart myslovic Roberts etc.? no clue what this guy does to be fair, so not sure if a replacement will be any better or worse.
  14. Stopped watching when it went 2-1 as we were too poor to enjoy, subbing made me less interested too. St mirren at home with shinnie back, I’d expect better. No clue on the status of duk or mccrorie as there were murmurs they’d play today. Hopefully some or all of these guys and a win Wednesday helps, especially with hearts at Ibrox.
  15. It’s days like this you see how shit a squad we have. Missing shinnie mccrorie and duk kills us and we rely on players not good enough. Then we bring on subs who are even worse and have a more negative effect. our good run coincided with a healthy team and the same 11 playing, what a drop off. Influence of shinnie is massive too.
  16. Not a great first half to be fair, hearts the better team and a little fortunate to be 1-1. Midfield three need to be much more forceful and, as we said way back, that’s just not clarkson and Barron’s game when playing together. While strong defensively another half like that the last gasp tackling will lead to a penalty at some point, or goals, we just can’t play for long spells like that.
  17. Is it appropriate for my annual Mikey Johnson worth a look comment yet? Not everyone’s cup of tea but I think looking at old firm fringe players like Niall mcginn and Ross mccrory is worth it.
  18. Feel for you man. One of my middle schoolers (13 yr old) hung himself about 5 years ago. Shocking stuff, such a popular kid, super footie player on my team, and a good looking kid to add. Nobody had any clue why he offed himself. So hard talking to the parents after that, kids at school were effected in a major way. Hang in there.
  19. First little mini test for Robson, poor first half and st mirren doing their best to help us. Much better second half and a goal or two needed!
  20. I pay very little attention to other teams players, Nicky Devlin any good? What type of right back is he??
  21. Anyone willing to comment on the penalty we had/didn’t get? Seemed like a no brainer to me but it appeared it wasn’t even reviewed by VAR?? Makes a farce of the whole thing. Again.
  22. From what I saw we weren’t too bad today and certainly missed chances. Nice goal from cantwell to be fair. Not too disappointed really as our run of wins and clean sheets had to end sometime, and that’s a game I can understand losing. Especially with hearts losing today too. Beating hearts, st mirren, and hibs have to happen, plus Celtic having won the league, taking something from them last day isnt out of the question.
  23. Oh well. Really wanted ayr and QOS promoted to add a little bit more interest/intrigue next year.
  24. Mccrorie a rolls Royce? But of a red tinted specs view there. I’m a big fan but I’d go for Volvo or Audi, better than an a to b Japanese car or the likes but not quite a beemer or merc. richardson, what did del boy drive??
  25. I’ve been very vocal that I didn’t want goodwin and wanted an experienced manager to replace him. Robson was not my choice but there’s no guarantee of success with an experienced manager. everything I feel right now is that players want to play for robson. That’s massive. They work their bollocks off for him. It’s his leadership that has got us here, with a hun win today the statement win so far. I’m ok with Robson permanently. He seems to have that connection with players, plus with his two assistants we have experience. If it’s Robson, sign the two assistants too. The problem is that how many of these players will be here next season? With mccrorie potentially away we may well lose him Macdonald pollock and scales, and I’d argue those 4 have been influential on this run. I’d take the supposed 2M for mccrorie and see if we can get scales Macdonald and even pollock signed up or extended. Plus lock in shinnie. Lock in 3rd too that’s guaranteed funds and let’s get some summer signings in. I’d also see is we can give duk and miovski new contracts with maybe 10m release clauses. they are getting interest so set the tone for what we want. Still think miovski would do well in England but duk is raw and would benefit from another year here. not only has Robson got us winning, he’s very popular and they fans are right behind him. That’s momentum we can build on, and the feel good factor is here for sure. Not hiring Robson probably damages that feel good factor to be honest, and summer/autumn then brings uncertainty. Summer can further momentum with Robson building a squad. Every manager has its risk, Robson and his management team makes sense now.
