  1. While youre here, looking for robust pair(s) of specs for working outdoors, able to withstand being dropped/knocked about a lot. Happy to pay up to £8 a pair if needs be
  2. Deary me,how can we be so unimaginative. It must be as uninspiring to play in our side as it is to watch us. "We nullified a good team for long periods" - Aye? ..allrighty then....
  3. Not averse to giving Anderson a run of games to see what he can do,but I also hae ma doubts about him longer term.Agree about also giving McLennan a run through the middle rather than wide,....though preferably if we were playing a pacier confident style of football. Strong and quick, but think he needs to work on his attitude/work ethic to reach his peak.Get the impression he's a bit lazy
  4. Just back fae the Port Appin area the weekend past.Climbed Beinn Sgulaird while we were there.Great viewpoint, but a horrible rough rocky mountain to climb. DSC00781 (2) by [/url], on Flickr Have to recommend the island of Lismore where we stayed over the weekend though.Rarely hear of it as far as others go,but liked it so much,we're going back again in February.Lots of history, views, low level walking/cycling,....but also quiet, and away from most of the tourists. Only downside is that, with a population of 170,there isnt an eatery or pub around, but a short ferry ride(10 mins,£2 each way) takes you back to the mainland at Port Appin where theres a good eatery called the Pier house right on the waterfront Unfortunately,we turned up at Port Appin on our way over, assuming it was a car ferry. It was the last one for the evening, and we found out it was foot passenger only.Chucked our gear on anyway, and had to tramp the 5 miles to our place in the dark . That aside.its a great place in the middle of Loch Linnhe with fine views back to the mainland, and out to the islands and Kingairloch areas.Great for both sunrise and sunset Looking back to the mainland with the islands single track main road in the pic DSC00797 (3) by , on Flickr Looking North up Loch Linnhe DSC00796 (4) by , on Flickr
  5. Blimey, well played,if a slightly odd thing to investigate.Canna mind a thing about the recent Cup visit, but can for a game 40 years ago . Call it middle age fuzz....was probably haein a nap last time
  6. Killie at home it is. Nae great, but could have been worse. Was in the Beach End watching Dons and Killie fans throwing seats at each other last time I saw Killie at home in the Cup,'81/82ish.Won 4 - 2 on our way to a Hampden win
  7. Ach thats a shame, always meant to try that place out.Mate and his wife had been regulars since the 90s and always talked him up. Some shift fae the boy
  8. Interesting angle from ex terrorist Majid Nawaaz
  9. Think hes verbally agreed to join https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/matty-kennedy-agrees-aberdeen-pre-21274428
  10. Neil Peart,Rush drummer,Deid - brain cancer . Hero of mine as a young loon
  11. Matt Kennedy https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/sport/football/aberdeen-fc/donsnews/st-johnstone-boss-tommy-wright-expects-matty-kennedy-to-join-aberdeen/
  12. So he got caught out by some fud with a fake acct, nae that big a deal....
  13. Will see what McGeouch brings to the table,..dont know much about Dunne.Hope the lad Kennedy comes back on radar.Stood out at McDermid, the only exciting player on the park.
  14. the guy i go hillwalking with has started taking cold showers and has become a big fan.Started off taking a normal shower and screwed down the temperature gradually during the same shower to what he could bear, til it got cold. Been doing it regularly for a couple of months now. Doesnt feel the cold like he did,eg was walking up a hill 2 weeks ago in a Tshirt in -3oC..Just wondering if he'll become a sweaty mess when it warms up a bit as a downside

    Films

Interesting post count RS Was visiting my brother over Xmas, and we stuck on a random film called 'the siege of Jadotville'. Based on a true story about an Irish contingent of UN peace keepers left to fend for themselves in the wilds of the Congo. Great film if its anything like what they went through
  16. Its the right type of game to try it out,but maybe not the best moment, given the apathy. Cant see how it will be much different from the last Merkland effort, but hopefully theyve learned from last time by connecting more with the majority of the support, rather than disappearing into their own wee world as it often appeared.Less songs for the sake of it,more at the right times, and more songs that dont make us older curmudgeons cringe if you want us to join in,eg bouncing on yer head etc As to the game,am away that weekend but will go for an unconvincing 2 - 0 win. Cosgrove,Considine
  17. Highlights - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50847212
  18. phoned ticket office and club shop to buy and pick up a ticket on the way back from visiting folks,...but both closed. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much, but still,...a cash or contactless turnstile would surely be worthwhile...
  19. Nothing major to report, despite word of a 'big' announcement elsewhere.Due to make another loss in the forthcoming financial year. Safe standing at new ground apparently...
  20. Huffed and puffed to a 1 nil win, probably deserved another, but Hamilton were poor enough to go for the jugular and maybe get a few goals.Wasnt a lack of effort,we just don't have the guile and pace at times to do so. Nae sure about game management,we were still going for another til the end but it didn't happen.Think were just a bit average, and a good signing or 2 in January would help. Nobody was outstanding, but pass marks to Ferguson,Mcginn,Cosgrove and McKenna. 30 Hamilton fans.Theyre up on merit, but wont shed a tear if they go down... EDIT - actually Wilson did ok...
  21. Bourtree, just down fae the Paddock pub,I was there about 5 maybe before abdy started coming.Last election there was someone fae all parties
  22. Aye,duty done.Seemed quieter than the last election, and nobody outside trying to influence votes.
  23. Only away games I go to these days are mostly on Tayside,so missed a lot of the above horror shows. Think the most miserable time Ive experienced was the 1 - 0 defeat at home fae Raith in the Cup.Sitting at Pittodrie in the coldest winter in 100 years, during the worst managerial era in our recent history, while watching the fall from grace of a legend. And dumped out the cup by another lower league side. Horrific stuff, and there was worse to come at Parkhead. Probably why I dont get over-riled by present day events
  24. In or Oot - Someone has to. Furryboots - Mainer Pre - Work am Post - Not sure Prediction - No idea,a stuffy 1 - 0 win maybe. Ferguson
