Confirmed in a very cursory statement from the club. Nothing official about Leven or Birchnall yet.
-
Doc confirmed on Premier Sports that he was away and that his contract was always going to end as soon as a permanent manager was appointed. Understandably, he wasn’t asked and didn’t speak about Leven or anyone else.
-
If we’re back to the head coach plucking random players out of nowhere then it would mean the sporting director model has been chucked in the bin, which I don’t think has happened so I can’t see us being in for this guy. Probably just agent talk.
-
30yo. No thanks. Career history shows nothing to suggest he’d be a player that would be of use to us.
-
I don’t like Armstrong over Cameron if we’re aiming for stuffy and hard to beat but it’s still a decent lineup.
-
Fair play to Robinson for his comments about managers not deciding a system, the players available dictate that. Far, far better way of thinking than attempting to shoehorn a squad into a way of playing that they aren’t suited to. Of course our bunch might be so hopeless that they aren’t suited to much but that won’t be the head coach’s fault…

Set it up and send me the bank details. At the moment DNA is all there is - other than buying what would be a redundant season ticket - so that's what gets my money. And my daughter enjoys the "free" strip
-
For several reasons I can't get to Pittodrie all that often so DNA is my way of contributing to the club. I decided to do that as a show of support and, to me, that support isn't contingent on who the chairman is, who the manager is or who we sign players on loan from. I supported the Dons long before Milne or Cormack were involved, I've endured countless dross managers and players and enjoyed one or two insane highs that pretty much make being a Dons fan worthwhile. I also plan on doing all that after Milne and Cormack are long gone. My contribution is a show of support for the entity that is Aberdeen FC, not any individual. Each to their own but for those reasons, DNA still works for me.

I wouldn’t believe a single internet rumour about Lutz but if he is away, maybe he was given his chance to get a coach, fucked it and is paying the price?
-
If their form and ours continue - notwithstanding the fact that bottom six games will be totally different in terms of pressure etc - then that will get far too tight for anyone's liking.

Dunfermline v The Scottish Cup holders

If Killie string some results together we’re going down. -
Agree word for word. I'd also add that he's pretty good at assigning credit to Burrows and the rest of the commercial team for a lot of that stuff rather than claiming he did it all himself. Not perfect but better than many other chairmen/owners cutting about football these days.

Gutless eleven V The Poorest Bunch of Tims For Decades

Surely VAR had a better angle to draw their lines than the one Sky showed? If not then it’s no better than just guessing. -

3-5-2? -
It's 100% going to be a stick to beat him with. Twice in the interview he mentioned how "competitive" the league was this season, so to then go on and "guarantee" that we will be competitive will absolutely be taken that we'll be in a title race next season. That's a stupid thing to say, even if he believes it, when we don't currently have a head coach or a squad in place as he simply can't make that promise. I don't have a problem with Cormack in general - it's like people have forgotten that Stuart Milne ever existed when they call Cormack "a clown" and "lacking ambition" - but in our current situation the message should be that we're working as hard as ever to do better and any "guarantee" should only relate to effort levels and investment rather than outcomes.
-
Also, “I guarantee we will be competitive next year” was a very risky thing to say.
-
I think one of Cormack’s best attributes is normally his ability to speak well and get his points across but that interview really wasn’t at all like his usual self.
-
A twist? A bit of spin ahead of it being announced the Horneland isn't coming? A load of shite just to fill a vacuum?
-
It's pretty clear from that piece that Big Dunc isn't really in tune with how clubs operate these days. The notion that a "manager" decides on player contracts went out the window as soon as - if not actually long before - Pfannensteil came in and, much as I hate it, the modern trend seems to be that managers won't take jobs mid season unless absolutely forced to. And we're not really a club that's in a position to force anyone decent to do anything.
-
I posted ages ago about everyone getting it in the neck this season, from cormack and burrows all the way down, but Fergie catching strays now is wild, wild stuff

Not sure if our new “ticketing and fan experience platform in association with Jump” deserves a thread if its own so sticking it in here: https://www.afc.co.uk/2026/02/26/aberdeen-fc-sign-exclusive-deal-launching-with-innovative-fan-experience-platform-jump/ Generally sounds like a load of waffle although this excerpt from Jump’s website isn’t great.

Another interim assistant appointed. Ian Burchnall. https://www.afc.co.uk/2026/02/26/burchnall-added-to-coaching-staff/

So why weren’t they off against Motherwell in the league the week before when we were rotten? Absolute havers!
-
Why on earth are the “shackles off” tonight but weren’t on Saturday? Mental.

Aberdeen v Dundee (Premiership)
wee toon red replied to OrlandoDon's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
We're so goal shy, despite Nisbet being a decent player at our level, that the only sane conclusion for us being so impotent for going on 18 months is a poor midfield and wingers. I want Keskinen to be good but he's really been a constant for the last season and a half so all evidence suggests that he isn't, and neither are any of the alternatives. Dire.
