Unfortunately a beast that will pay about £20k a week.

As Dons fans, we would rather turn out for Aberdeen for free than take even £300k a week from the huns. But for the majority of players their financial security (unfortunately and foolishly) takes precedence.

I'm not buying that.

If you're good enough to be signed by that lot there would definitely be other clubs down in England that would be prepared to sign you. Clubs with a lower profile perhaps but probably, in fact almost definitely paying more money than rangers.

Only thorough going bastards that will burn in hell's fires for an eternity sign for that club.

** As mentioned earlier foreign players are not included in my seethe.

Hearing that his assistant is going to be Brian Kerr.

I wonder what will happen to Doc and Leven. The timing of the Doc coming onboard was always a strange one as far as I was concerned, I could not really figure it out at the time and now it looks even stranger.

Anyway COYFR

The first team coach that had Norwegian experience seems even stranger- was potentially a Horneland appointment with him meant to come in summer

What is his role now?

more coaches than Central

It’s pretty clear to me that the plan has been for quite sometime to wait until the summer to make an appointment - hence the additions of Doc & the boy fae Norway to help out Leven until then.

That absolute holocaust on Saturday - which was an incredible shocker of a no show, even for us - changed everything.

Genuine panic stations with the FMB then ensued with the sudden realisation this setup would likely get us relegated.

Back to the list, who’s available right now, only one, step forward Mr Robinson.

That’s how it all looks to me anyway…

Is it genuine panic though? Or simply the realization that we cannot wait? It doesn’t need to be panic, can be a logical decision, Robinson was a consideration from day one, knows the team and the league, and can be grabbed asap.

I’d say that when you’ve hired two additional coaches in recent weeks - one last week wasn’t it - with a clear view to waiting to get your main man in the summer, then chuck all that out the window in 24 hours based on one, admittedly horrific result - that counts as panic stations yes.

I am coming round to Robinson though, looking at his background and as Panda highlighted elsewhere his managerial record is actually very good. He’s had his first poor league campaign in years this year, but won a cup. As long as they don’t get relegated any diddy team would take that.

From what I can gather, they lost their main recruitment guy last summer and the recruitment with the new guy has been shite this year - sound familiar?

He talks well (so did Goodwin tbf) but he’s way more experienced and has a far better track record in Scotland than anyone else we’ve appointed.

The two month wait bit is the irritating thing, but having taken some time to mull it over, I think this guy might just do a job for us…

A bit harsh to turn on lutz, guy is just in the door. We needed a DOF type, and the guy is experienced and has connections. Why was he a panic signing, seems a long thought out hiring? Looks like his first responsibilities were to reduce an overly bloated squad which he’s done/doing, and then obviously find a manager.

the squad is awful, you cannot blame him for that at all. We also added the loaners in January to fill a gap to get us to summer when the opportunity to add players is obviously better. I get this situation, not his fault he inherited the squad he did.

the manager situation is different, plus since nobody knows the situation people make things up, including the media. We clearly didnt have a standout candidate initially, then horneland becomes available, then whatever issue with him (medical??). I think he sees the limitations in Peter hence he’s not been announced until summer, so we’re hoping to get this resolved, but it hasn’t. It is a mess, but I do t think anyone wants Robinson or similar just to get a manager in.

i don’t know who I blame. Jimmy and the recruitment team? Seems it went to shit when mowbray left?

Fair points but Lutz is a prize clown. Time will prove this

Hornelands 'personal circumstances' seem to be that he was offered a punditry gig for the world cup and not that he had cancer like someone shamefully said on here.

If that’s actually the case; then bullet well and truly dodged.

He's not exactly going to come out in an interview and announce he has medical or personal issues, and put off any future employer from hiring him!

The "cancer" comment came from another poster who was putting two and two together, but the "unforeseen circumstances" were certainly more than him accepting a punditry gig at the World Cup.

I'm sure the cancer/medical thing came from a journalist posting on Twitter.

The club didn't exactly show itself in a positive light, throughout our manager search, which only fuelled the shyte spread about.

They made are arse of it in my opinion.
