if the Lutz rumours were to be true, it really wouldn't be a great look for the club. 

Hopefully we will hear something from the club today. These type of things don't usually drag on too long, but with us at the moment, who knows.

It's done, announcement coming very soon. Dave is currently writing and rewriting the statement, trying to convince everyone that Robinson fits the board's philosophy of delivering exciting, attacking football and that he was the number one choice from the very start.

He's here now. Wasn't my first choice but I also don't think he's anywhere near as bad as some people are making out. The anger should be with the club rather than Robinson.

Certainly can't blame Robinson for jumping at the chance of joining a massive club like Aberdeen. Forget the league positions it's a huge step up for him in every possible way. 

But and it's a big but the majority of fans didn't want him so unless he starts winning soon and winning regularly the knifes will be out for him in double quick time. 

I can't see this working at all.

The way the club have went about this appointment is beyond shambolic, but any anger we fans have should never be directed towards Robinson, as none of this shit show has got anything to do with him.

Agreed BUT that doesn't mean to say he gets to avoid the customary criticism that all managers and players receive if they underperform and with the situation being what it is the fans will undoubtedly turn quicker than they otherwise would if it was a coach we deemed more befitting of our clubs stature.

Let's hope for everyone's sake that he can hit the ground running.

Definitely agree with your last sentence and if he’s here well, he’ll have my backing. But certainly not happy about him being our manager nor the way the club has gone about it. Fucking boooooo

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it's just a cheap dig because he feels we've been a bit snobbish / arrogant (and perhaps we have) in our reactions to the appointment of Robinson.

I wonder what will happen to Doc and Leven. The timing of the Doc coming onboard was always a strange one as far as I was concerned, I could not really figure it out at the time and now it looks even stranger.

Welcome aboard Mr Robinson. 

He doesn't fit the strategy at all, but I think it's important to recognise that he was actually on our original shortlist back when we started looking, and was possibly the preference of at least one of those responsible for hiring, so it's not a completely wild appointment. It's a pragmatic appointment at least. We could easily have gone down the route of inexperienced or high risk foreigner for the sake of foreigner route that when weighed up would be much worse than Robinson. It's not like he doesn't tick any boxes at all. If Lutz is in any way a good sporting director, and not just an ego, then he'll definitely be able to work with Robinson. Just as he would have been able to work with the fourth or fifth foreigner on his list despite whatever flaws they brought. As long as we're clear about responsibilities from the outset, we should be fine. 

I actually think the worst thing would be if Lutz leaves. We've decided on a model that requires a sporting director. That means Lutz would have to be replaced. Once again we'd be getting a sporting director in after appointing a manager. Which would be taking shambolic to its peak.
