The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 6-2 Monday to endorse a controversial bill that would allow Arizona employers the right to deny health insurance coverage for contraceptives based on religious objections.

 

Arizona House Bill 2625, authored by Majority Whip Debbie Lesko, R-Glendale, would permit employers to ask their employees for proof of medical prescription if they seek contraceptives for non-reproductive purposes, such as hormone control or acne treatment.

 

“I believe we live in America. We don’t live in the  Soviet Union,” Lesko said. “So, government should not be telling the organizations or mom and pop employers to do something against their moral beliefs.”

 

Lesko said this bill responds to a contraceptive mandate in the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law March 2010.

 

“My whole legislation is about our First Amendment rights and freedom of religion,” Lesko said. “All my bill does is that an employer can opt out of the mandate if they have any religious objections.”

Rick Santorum wants to put an end to the distribution of pornography in the United States.

 

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

 

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

 

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

 

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."

I see we have another 8 martyrs for the 2nd amendment.

Is it 'thoughts and prayers....no time to rush to judgement.....' or 'Muslim'?

Just reading the article and it looks like another prick is getting lined up to replace the one that’s leaving. It’s like a never ending conveyor belt. Have you seen the state of that Kevin Warsh getting lined up for the Fed? It’s like they’ve searched the nation to find the people with the most punchable faces and given them all a job in the administration

Funny how it was the first time that Trump had actually attended this annual event in his entire time as President 🤔

Took place in the same hotel as the attempt on Reagan took place back in '81.

Yep he seems to have been pictured smirking while the shots started. However, he did do a rather large face plant when being escorted out so at least that was amusing.

That's the thing. For a nation of gun-shaggers, they're really terrible at aiming the things. Maybe he should have put on a school uniform.

Is it the case (maybe not all states) that to get a gun you just need to reach a certain age and then head to Walmart?

The assumption being that your supersoaker teenage years automatically mean you become Dirty Harry/ a fully trained sniper the moment you touch an actual gun?

Id say imagine that being the case with driving a car but im no longer sure it already isnt

I saw the video of the boy running through security.

It must be a comforting thought for the president that he is protected by such a crack team of security guards.

No he didn't, he didn't even get into the same room as Trump.

Boy was a guest in the hotel. Up to his room with a bag full of shotguns, pistols and knives 🤣. The security around Trump sees pretty poor. They are either useless, arrogant or in on the conspiracy. Possibly all three

Not quite. You need an ID, background check, permit, conceal carry permit if you intend to carry, many states require gun training and safety courses. Florida has a three day waiting period while they do a background check, California for example has a ten day waiting period.
