The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 6-2 Monday to endorse a controversial bill that would allow Arizona employers the right to deny health insurance coverage for contraceptives based on religious objections.

 

Arizona House Bill 2625, authored by Majority Whip Debbie Lesko, R-Glendale, would permit employers to ask their employees for proof of medical prescription if they seek contraceptives for non-reproductive purposes, such as hormone control or acne treatment.

 

“I believe we live in America. We don’t live in the  Soviet Union,” Lesko said. “So, government should not be telling the organizations or mom and pop employers to do something against their moral beliefs.”

 

Lesko said this bill responds to a contraceptive mandate in the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law March 2010.

 

“My whole legislation is about our First Amendment rights and freedom of religion,” Lesko said. “All my bill does is that an employer can opt out of the mandate if they have any religious objections.”

Rick Santorum wants to put an end to the distribution of pornography in the United States.

 

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

 

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

 

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

 

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."

Trump now lifts sanctions on Russia.

Remember all those folk that accused him of being a Russian plant. Bet they feel stupid now.

It’s been 10 years and they still haven’t produced any evidence. Pretty certain with the amount of US intelligence Depts they could have produced 1 piece.

Clearly sanctions isn’t working givien Russia annexed Crimea back in 2014. Wasn’t the EU importing gas from Russia up until a few years ago.

Under EU/UK sanctions law they could impose sanctions on US businesses that deal with Russia however they won’t as it’s not in their interests.

Don says it's lucky the boy that shot the latest school shooter was there with his gun, and knew how to use it.

If the school shooter didn't have a gun and knew how to use it, then this wouldn't have happened.

Russian interference in the 2016 election happened in ‘sweeping & systematic fashion’. There reason there was no criminality linked to it, was because the people who benefited lied, withheld evidence and obstructed investigations

Insightful as usual but like Burnham Russia interfered in the Brexit vote can you point to a specific incident in not going to give you evidence.

I’m not trying to be insightful. The evidence of Russian interference was published in the Mueller Report. It’s there if you want to read it.

As for the UK, half the population has had its mind turned to custard by Russian troll bots. It’s been going on since around 2010. That’s before you get to all the dark money. The Russians were quite open about all of this. Again, if it’s a subject you’re interested in, there’s plenty of reading material out there

The Mueller report was written during Trumps 1st term so the Russian Asset installed as president allowed a report to continue into his bosses interfering to get him elected.

The interference would have happened under Obamas presidency and im sure the numerous intelligence depts could have produced concrete evidence. I’m sure the American intel depts would know what to look for.

European countries are still buying Russian gas, why is nobody complaining about that?

It benefits them. Bit like they complain about American Miltary action anywhere in the world but would gladly welcome it in Europe to stop Russia.

Remember when the intel said Russia blew up the Nordstream pipeline but Germany has charged pro Ukraine saboteurs

If there was any real evidence of proper interference we would hear of it. Given that most of the claims Trump is a Russian asset is because he got a golden shower from some Russian prostitutes back in the 80’s. You’d have thought some of the Russian intelligence officers who have defected may have taken some evidence with them.

I don't think there is a 'bottom' I don't think there's a depth to which Therapist Trump and his acolytes won't sink.

But it's ok as long as he......I actually don't know why anyone would vote for him....are there positives?

Maybe he's keeping homeless people out of private swimming pools.
