Crazy American Politics

Story #1

http://www.statepress.com/2012/03/12/senate-judiciary-committee-endorses-controversial-contraceptive-bill/

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 6-2 Monday to endorse a controversial bill that would allow Arizona employers the right to deny health insurance coverage for contraceptives based on religious objections.

Arizona House Bill 2625, authored by Majority Whip Debbie Lesko, R-Glendale, would permit employers to ask their employees for proof of medical prescription if they seek contraceptives for non-reproductive purposes, such as hormone control or acne treatment.

“I believe we live in America. We don’t live in the  Soviet Union,” Lesko said. “So, government should not be telling the organizations or mom and pop employers to do something against their moral beliefs.”

Lesko said this bill responds to a contraceptive mandate in the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act signed into law March 2010.

“My whole legislation is about our First Amendment rights and freedom of religion,” Lesko said. “All my bill does is that an employer can opt out of the mandate if they have any religious objections.”

Story#2

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/rick-santorum-wants-ban-hardcore-pornography-222833811.html

Rick Santorum wants to put an end to the distribution of pornography in the United States.

"America is suffering a pandemic of harm from pornography," Santorum's official website reads. "Pornography is toxic to marriages and relationships. It contributes to misogyny and violence against women. It is a contributing factor to prostitution and sex trafficking."

The former Pennsylvania senator states that, "as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture."

Santorum criticized the Obama administration for turning "a blind eye ... to the scourge of pornography" and for refusing to enforce obscenity laws.

"If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration."

Hilarious. Trump really is thick as shite. Everyone in the galaxy could see that coming before they even met. What an embarrassment of a nation (as most nations are). Two of life's absolute losers inv

  • We just mainly hear about their gestapo shooting Americans in the face, the child sex trafficking and fascist stuff but that’s good news about property taxes

I’ve learned a few things about Americans over the last ten years but if there’s one lesson we can all take, is that they’re a nation of cowards. All fur coat and no knickers when it comes to their precious 2nd amendment & their constitution

They let the most pathetic servile dribbling idiotic racist examples of humanity, rip the piss right out them.

Im completely out of fucks for them. They caused it, they can fix it.

Another “assassination attempt”. Apparently Trump wanted to play golf but this was the only weekend the shooter had free.

Quite funny that Don Jnr was getting married and he couldn’t go because he was busy doing presidential stuff, then spent all day shit posting AI slop on Truth Social

It did amuse me that the nicest thing he could say about his own son was that he was "someone I have known for a long time".

He’s only got one kid he actually likes and it’s a little too much

Just noticed that Don Jnrs new bride is the daughter of Jeffrey Epsteins accountant

They are a right wing populist Govt with an interest in trying to install the same type of govt elsewhere which in the UK is Farage/Reform

It’s a tangled web but essentially it’s the same people doing the same things. None of it is especially clever but as long as you can say things like mutilization, trans for all, woke gone mad, liberal elites, muslamic ray guns etc, then the poor people will let you steal from them

And they think that'll work?

It won't work? Right?

It’s working right now. The BNP policies of 30 years ago are now being labelled as legitimate concerns by a Labour government

The real issue is whether it belongs in the crazy American politics thread or just the general politics thread.

JD Vance should write to Donstalk to clarify

Trump is down in the polls, he's continuously being shown to look like the thick, strange guy he is, the US military has been embarrassed under his watch, he's spent millions if not billions of taxpayers money on his vanity while average Americans experience a real struggle to live comfortably so why do politicians on the far right in the UK seem to think it's a good playbook to follow?

Because it’ll make them richer. They don’t care about the actual implications of it.

This. We’ve moved from career politicians to out and out grifting politicians. Trump clearly doesn’t give a shit about what happens in the political structures now, he’s full tilt into building and protecting his wealth and that of his family. The ruling to exonerate him and his family from tax investigations in future is beyond wild.

I find it quite funny when people point out he’s breaking the law - he doesn’t give a fuck. Democrats are trying to catch him out on rules for a game he isn’t playing.

This is the issue.

And it's the same over here.

Educationally sub-normal types are buying into a cult.

You just wouldn’t leave the house looking like that
