Optician lad? That's sad, seemed a decent sort.

Ffs, he definitely did appear to be a good guy.

I believe Donsdaft, occasi tionally of this parish passed away recently too.Not sure the full story, but a bit of a character on Abmad back in the day where I read about the news...

No fucking way 🙄

I was in Budapest (he lived there) last year and reached out to him but didn't get a response.

Going back in June and was going to try and arrange to get a beer with him.

Absolutely gutted to hear this. One of life's good guys

P S didn't realise Abmad was still on the go. Must go have a look 😉

Used to be half decent banter on there with a fair few of the guys from the old "offishal" site posting on there.

Have to say it was an extremely annoying site at times with the layout and constant adverts spoiling matters

Thirty eight years ago the late Iain Porterfield took on the toughest job in Scottish football by succeeding Sir Alex as Aberdeen manager

A pretty near impossible task but his record wasn't that bad during his tenure and undoubtedly not helped by Scottish football changing with Murray printing his own money and pumping it into Ibrox

20 years ago the world lost The Moroccan Magician, Hicham Zerouali

Met him a couple of times in the kebab shop on Bridge Street, always happy to talk to Dons fans.

Imagine how he would've been under JT's guidance!

Twenty years, oh my god

Favourite memory of him was jumping in the puddles behind the goals at Dens after completing his hat trick.

RIP Zero 😢

One of his first games foe us, he did his trademark somersault ... when someone else scored

But yeah that Dens hattrick was him at his cocky best

Neale James Cooper

Seven years ago today. Taken far far too young.

Bet he had tears in his eyes watching down on Saturday ❤️

At the 2017 final, I got tickets off a lad who had something to do with Village Hotels. When I went there to get them, he invited us to stay for the pre-match entertainment. They had Cooper, Kennedy (and I can't think who the third was?). Joey Harper also said a few bits at the end; he seemed to be there with Cooper. Cooper was the entertainment, though. Had the whole place in stitches and was the highlight of the day for me and the lads I was with. Imagine everyone who met him came away with the same impression of him.

Forty nine years ago I saw my first League Cup final win with a 2-1 (AET) victory over The Victims with goals from Drew Jarvie and The Brush (RIP).

Ally McLeod's (also RIP) finest hour as Aberdeen manager.

I remember being absolutely euphoric, little did I know what the next ten years or so would bring us

Halcyon Days indeed👍

On this day in 1997 Dean Windass received 3 red cards in a 5-0 shoeing at Tannadice, accruing 22 penalty points and a 6 week ban.

Not all bad though as Roy Aitken received his jotters after the match.

As the man who let my hero Irvine go (despite the clubs pledge that there would always be a place for him at the club after his MS diagnosis…) I wasn’t complaining.

Almost 30 years ago, wow.

And no I still haven’t forgiven him.

Was the next game vs The Huns, and Keith Birkenshaw took charge? Or was that after Alex Miller's sacking? I remember we played well in that game. Keith said on the tele "I thought Jess were magnificent!"

Ally MacLeod took charge of his first Dons match on this day 1975.

Dons managed a 2-1 win, with Jocky Scott scoring the winner.

Paul Hegarty scored for them.

Also on this day in 1961, a certain Neil Simpson was born.

Oh for a Simmie in our midfield now.
