My thoughts exactly Ajja. A goalscoring (of sorts) defender is excellent to have, but that has to be balanced up with the ability to defend.

Exactly. Better using the wages on a defender and a striker instead of a one trick poney.

 

Considering he is currently playing for the best offer he can get and putting himself in the shop window, his performance on Tues suggests that he'll always be a liability defensively. Certainly not good enough to be a top earner.

 

I'd rather we had no threat from free kicks if it meant we shored up at the back and had any capability of scoring from open play (and taking corners).
