League Cup semi: Rangers v Aberdeen

I'm breaking forum etiquette here, but semi-final chat should not be hidden away in a generic League Cup thread.

Last time we were at Hampden we won the cup against Celtic, so let's not fear this mob.

The last time Stephen Robinson faced Derek McInnes in a semi-final at Hampden he skelped him 3-0 (Motherwell against... doesn't matter who it was against, but the team he beat were wearing blue shirts).

The last two times Robinson has been at Hampden - and in this competition - he won 4-1 (semi) and 3-1 (final).

So aye, we're winning this. Final against Hibs (I'm calling it now, think they'll beat Hearts) on the sacred day that we celebrate Eoin Jess' birthday (and Kristers Tobers).

Dates and kick-off time are either Saturday 31st (17:15 or 17:30 kick-off usually is the slot) or Sunday 1st November (14:00 or 15:00).

And the pressure isn't all on Rangers. Robinson could be out of a job on Sunday if we get a doing.

I have successfully negotiated an agreement that no matter which minute of the game it is ,if we go 4 0 down then we leave Hampden immediately.

However I now have a sneaking suspicion that we might actually win tomorrow

talk about hedging my bets 😛

I don't think it's worth going just for five minutes, then.

He is more mobile than Yogane however but that hardly raises the bar much

Mahou runs like hes shit himself.

A weird running style

That's because he has shit himself.

Cadden (hamstring) and Tobers (swollen knee, the boy has no luck) out. Happe suspended. Mayo and Knoester obviously out long term. Ronan might be available.

I think any plan to go to a back three is gone now.

Wonder if we'll still go two up front though or try and pack the midfield. I think the 4-4-2 we've played in the last two games, we'd get sliced apart.

Not seen enough of Mahou to know if we've a player there or not, so him or Yogane on the left makes no odds to me.

He could go with of Devlin-Milne-Malloy with Lyons at RWB.

Yeah, wouldn't be the worst idea. I probably prefer that now I think about it.

I expect Milne in the middle of devlin and molloy, Lyons and NGW. Pretty much picks itself unless we go with devlin at right back of a back 4 and play 2 keepers.

Assuming a back 5, Armstrong afeez and Marshall, although I wonder if briedl may get a start over Marshall, Mouloua and nisbet.

5-0 Huns. I don’t care whether we sack Robinson or not, it’s such a shit squad to work with, not so sure the manager matters that much.

Or only lose 3-0 😄

I mean the problem is, it’s his shit squad. We’re fucked either way, which is more probably the point your making.

Aberdeen have met Rangers in seven League Cup semis, and have won the majority of them (four). All of them were under different managers.

Dave Halliday (55/56)

Ally McLeod (76/77)

Roy Aitken (95/96)

Derek McInnes (18/19)

Eddie Turnbull, Alex Smith and Jim Goodwin were the managers to lose them.

What list are you joining tonight Stephen Robinson?

If it goes badly, the unemployed list

Robinsons not being sacked in the foreseeable.

Usually when not going to a semi final or final, I am a bit regretful in the morning of the game, for not going, but not for this one.

That said, I hope we beat the manky, classless, zombie bastards and leave them in no doubt they employed a big game bottler, as manager.

Heid first intae them and I truly hope all of us not making the game today, regret not going.
