League Cup semi: Rangers v Aberdeen

I'm breaking forum etiquette here, but semi-final chat should not be hidden away in a generic League Cup thread.

Last time we were at Hampden we won the cup against Celtic, so let's not fear this mob.

The last time Stephen Robinson faced Derek McInnes in a semi-final at Hampden he skelped him 3-0 (Motherwell against... doesn't matter who it was against, but the team he beat were wearing blue shirts).

The last two times Robinson has been at Hampden - and in this competition - he won 4-1 (semi) and 3-1 (final).

So aye, we're winning this. Final against Hibs (I'm calling it now, think they'll beat Hearts) on the sacred day that we celebrate Eoin Jess' birthday (and Kristers Tobers).

Dates and kick-off time are either Saturday 31st (17:15 or 17:30 kick-off usually is the slot) or Sunday 1st November (14:00 or 15:00).

  • Enough about Mayo and Happe.

  • Appropriate night to be facing the zombies.

  • I'm argue 13,000 is an outstanding effort for a semi-final, and that's before you consider the distance to travel, the lack of public transport options, the price of travel with high ticket prices lum

Top red tickets purchased but beaten to the seats I had hoped for by the top top reds.
Still pretty much in location where I watched that Lewis Ferguson goal for the Dons against them :-)

So is that us up to 2 sold? Doubled from Rico purchase, 100% increase. Top work. Let’s keep the momentum going team.

Went to buy there, but the only tickets left in the east stand are front row.

There are of course nine sections still to open, but for some unfathomable reason they put the tickets on sale at 5pm just as the ticket office closes for the night and everyone goes home, so unlikely another section will open until tomorrow.

Great idea, let's make the ticket buying process as awkward as possible.

I found it very straightforward to get my perfect seats with a great view.

Are you in the ultras section? Because some 15 year old is going to be nicking those seats.

Yeah there will be, usual messing about from the ticket office. Just release more sections to start with, it’s not that difficult.

Could have also just went to general sale straight away.

How many sections have been put up and sold out?

I think its the spfl that dictates the ticket sales opening sections.been told no more will be opened until the sections are all sold out,but not sure if that correct. It will all be done this way to give the govan minks ore tickets.

Just had a email from pittodrie ticket office, we have been allocated tickets by spfl, once these are all sold out more tickets will be available.so basically we have to buy the more expensive upper seats and the shit front row seats before any other section is opened. All this shit to hep the huns get more tickets.

Yep, it's the other point that gets ignored when discussing the lack of fans attending a semi final. Hampden has a fucking atrocious view from half the stadium. If it was split North and South, with each team given the whole of one side, with behind the goals being sold last (and at no more than £30 per ticket), we'd sell a lot more. There's a whole section of the ends that are basically restricted view seats. The Huns and Tims get a far greater proportion of better view seats.

Well they can ram it then. We'll wait until better sections open and if they don't then I'll spend my £32 on the biggest, dirtiest kebab there is, eat half of it and splatter the rest on Neil Doncaster's motor.

I always think that if you’re complaining about the view at Hampden, then it’s not going well on the pitch

New section in east stand just opened up G2 behind goals.

I can think about more than one thing, even when at the football.

Show off

After all my moaning, went to buy for G2 only to be told my mates aren't top reds like me so we can't even buy until the general sale tomorrow 🤣

They're on sale at 5pm, which is the same time as Oasis is on sale. Poor planning from all concerned.

They have done this before I'm sure, when Dundee played Inverness in 2003.

The reason they don't do it anymore I imagine is because they want to sell hospitality to both clubs.

Didn't they do it when we played Morton too? Or am I misremembering? I'm sure they can still have a few corporates in the wrong end. It's fairly well segregated in that area.

Got 2 tickets for the loon. Sod knows where they are - trying to work that system off a phone on a train not the best. I hope he’s grateful…
