I’m good with that draw. Very hard to get an ‘easy’ draw as a third seeded European team.  First game is huge, one I’ll try to go to if it’s in Miami which is possible. Work with a bunch of Brazilians who hate their national team at present, says they are pish. But they are still Brazil. Morocco have expectation on them, could be good or not. Plus it’s revenge from 98.

It's a case of deja vu with Brazil and Morocco, who Scotland also faced in 1998 in France, the last time we made the finals.
Here are the full details of the Scotland matches with venues still to be confirmed.
June 13: Scotland vs Pot 4 team (Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, near Boston or MetLife Stadium, New Jersey)
June 18: Scotland vs Morocco (Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia or Gillette Stadium, Foxborough)
June 24: Scotland vs Brazil (Hard Rock Stadium, Miami or Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta)
FIFA will confirm the exact kick-off times and venues for each fixture tomorrow.”

Scotland v Brazil in Miami would be incredible for anyone going. Please let this happen FIFA.

I'm really annoyed about that draw. Imagine waiting 28 years to play a world cup and getting 2 teams we played last time. And Brazil again for the 5th time in a world cup, it would be nice to have played somebody different for a change.

I ended up switching off before the draw. Good draw team wise but shite venue wise. Hopefully Brazil will game will be in Atlanta in the indoor stadium and not out door in Miami as will be roasting.

Brazil must be gutted. Every time they have drawn us, they have not gone on to win the trophy. (1974, 1982, 1990, 1998).

Optimistically, I think we can get four points and either get through in second place or as a best third place team.

Realistically, we'll get battered by Brazil and Morocco, then beat Haiti but miss out on a best third place spot on goal difference.

Really? I think it will be different players. And in a different continent. It’s been 26 years.

im delighted to avoid European teams. Particularly if it’s Italy or Denmark. Not only the strength of the Europeans, but nice to have different styles with this lot. While many of the players play in European, playing these teams will be something different. Particularly if we are physical, maybe that helps us against Haiti and Morocco. How many fans have seen Scotland play these types of teams? I remember Morocco, Brazil, Uruguay, New Zealand, Costa Rica, nice to avoid Europe.

of the top teams, I think we had to face Brazil Argentina or a host. USA are a decent team and at home, as are Mexico. Canada are no mugs. Argentina are streets ahead of Brazil. Work with a bunch of Brazilians who can’t stand their national team at present, they aren’t a typically strong Brazil. they have all the pressure and expectation too. Maybe we’re due a result there?

morocco could be good, maybe not, who knows about Haiti. I think it’s a decent and exciting draw.

I'm delighted with the draw. Actually cheered when we got Brazil. We can play Brazil at every World Cup for all I care, there's something special about playing them at a World Cup.

If anything, it feels more like 1974 (not that I was around back then). Took it easy on Zaire which ultimately cost us on goal difference, got a draw against a good Yugoslavia side, and drew with Brazil. Would take five points again this time mind you.

My one and only World Cup game I've been to was Morroco at France 98. Kinda like that we've got them again.

I'm hoping to go over for one game. Was looking at hotels for Miami and Atlanta for the Brazil - definitely prefer the latter. I'm no expert on Miami, but it looks to have shite public transport options - was looking at over two hours to get to the stadium from any hotel under £1,000.

It is true that all the Scotland games against Brazil have been memorable for one reason or another. Opening the tournament against them in '98, Murdo Macleod taking one for the team in 1990, Dave Narey's wonder goal in '82.

I was at all 3 of the above seems the better Scotland were the heavier the defeat.

Well, that compares favourably to '98 ... Brazil 1, Norway 7,Morocco 13, Scotland 41, ..... which I only recently discovered - which kinda mitigates the idea that our '98 WC was a 'failure'.

To put it in a funny sort o' perspective, if these placings are mapped onto the Scottish League, Brazil would be Prem champions, Norway best of the bottom six, Morocco Championship toppers ..... and Scotland 2nd bottom of the 2nd Div! 

A win and a draw next year, and a historical first progression out of the group stages is surely achievable ... but it's Scotland! ... so fuck knows
