It very rarely snows at Christmas (at least not where I live), but it's all over Christmas songs, cards, films, etc. That goes back to Charles Dickens time when they had a lot of snowy winters. Quote

We need some more apt Christmas songs now. "Outside it's pishing, and I'm wishing, you a happy holiday" or something like that. Quote

swaddon Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 I wasn't really planning to do Whamageddon this year, which is a good thing, because I was hit at 9 o'clock this morning in the supermarket with the seasonal dirge. Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 I don't mind the Wham xmas song at all. Bet it has made them a pretty penny these past 40 years. Quote
manc_don Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 Pretty impossible to avoid when you’ve got young kids. Think as soon as it turned 1 November, it’s all I’ve heard in the shops here. Quote
swaddon Posted December 19 Report Posted December 19 Kylie Minogue is the Christmas number one with her song XMAS. I haven't heard the song because I think it is only available on Amazon, but good on her. I like Kylie. Quote

Apparently everything goes to Andrew Ridgely. George Michael gave up his share of the royalties after he left Wham Quote

Although didn’t she do some kind of deal with them so it always gets played first whenever anyone asks for Xmas music? I know record companies have been at that kind of thing since before Elvis, but demeaned her in my eyes. A long way from being photographed on a bed with Bobbie Gillespie! Quote
