Just been relegated to league one, cost them around 2 million, will they be cost cutting? Loan to buy or buy outright?? Would be a million plus but we were considering a million for okkels. Good player, needed position, and Scottish! Not sure he’d be ready to come back north but you never know. Would be a great signing, especially if we finished third. However, I'm not actually sure what we're looking for in a number ten either. Are we looking for a McGrath replacement, or someone who can improve on the role that Gueye is performing? One of each? tlg1903 Posted April 28 Report Posted April 28 Turnbull is under contract till 2027 so I'm not sure how feasible a deal would be relegation or not. I also suspect his wages would be a big stumbling block It would be good business though, he's a great player. As for style he's a proper no 10, he's very skillful on the ball and good for a goal. 1 Quote
BigAl Posted April 28 Author Report Posted April 28 Bizarre to say the least. This guy is only nineteen and got a full cap for Nigeria before his seventeenth birthday Goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu, who won a Nigeria cap in November 2022 but currently plays for Tayport in the Midlands League, is to join Aberdeen on trial this week having spent last week with St Johnstone and with Stoke City, St Mirren, Dunfermline Athletic and Dumbarton all monitoring the 19-year-old Quote
BigAl Posted April 28 Author Report Posted April 28 Scott Burns saying that we are not interested in him after all. I guess if we were it would be to replace Tom Ritchie as third choice Quote

I'm assuming he's over here on a study visa or some such? I doubt Tayport would have got international clearance otherwise! Good luck to him, must be difficult for a young goalie in a foreign country, and more so given the route he appears to have taken. I suspect he'll face a lot of rejection on his path if he does every make it. Quote

BigAl Posted May 2 Author Report Posted May 2 Not sure he was ever realistically linked with us other than online by fans but we won't be signing Bobby Wales from a Kilmarnock as he has signed a PCA with Swansea City Quote

BigAl Posted Monday at 12:10 Author Report Posted Monday at 12:10 As good a place as any to stick this: Rubi is coming home in the summer Not quite sure where he'll fit into things to be honest. Quote

Panda Posted Monday at 15:34 Report Posted Monday at 15:34 Celtic reportedly want to re-sign Ross Doohan. No doubt for their European quota. He's out of contract in summer so sadly we can't demand an extortionate fee. Quote
Jute Posted Monday at 15:47 Report Posted Monday at 15:47 Not that bothered about losing Doohan other than leaves us really short of Scottish players if we make Europe. Quote

Guessing so but surely Bain will be wanting first team football which is not guaranteed at us……yes Rico I know Mitov has been made of glass this season. Quote
BigAl Posted Monday at 16:14 Author Report Posted Monday at 16:14 Putting two and two together, could we be in for the nineteen year old Nigerian international keeper that was mentioned last week Quote
BigAl Posted Tuesday at 06:25 Author Report Posted Tuesday at 06:25 Been thinking that Doohan being prepared to go back to The Tims as THIRD choice keeper justifies us not offering him a contract extension. What a complete lack of ambition at this stage in his football life Enjoy your bank balance, doubt you'll play as many games again as you have this season. Trust Jimmy will have someone lined up with a modicum of ambition and desire to push Mitov Quote
Tyrant Posted Tuesday at 08:59 Report Posted Tuesday at 08:59 Doohan can go. Safe to say I won't be losing much sleep about that. Quote

wee toon red Posted Tuesday at 10:33 Report Posted Tuesday at 10:33 (edited) Sitting on Celtic's bench or ours probably doesn't make much difference to a player, although their seats look a bit more comfy than ours. Has there been anything to suggest that Doohan actually wants to go? Edited Tuesday at 10:34 by wee toon red 2 Quote

Know what you mean, but he isn't actually likely to get a seat on Celtic's bench as he would more than likely going there as third choice. To answer your second point, can't say I've seen him mention it anywhere Quote

Would need to look up the meaning of the word ambition in a dictionary I'm not sure it's lack of ambition to be honest. Maybe more like self awareness. If he knows that he doesn't have what it takes to reach the levels of our first team, then a payday for a couple of years is probably something that appeals. He might not get the opportunity again, and in a couple of years time, he'll still have age on his side to go and play for County or whoever for another 4-5 seasons and fight for a starting place. Goalie is a very unique position, it's completely different to some of the young players joining them to sit on the bench as we've seen in the past. Or maybe it isn't. But I think it is! 3 Quote
