  1. I thought MacKenzie did well today, and has been fairly solid since coming on against Hibs. He chased a ball down in their half, which the defender got to first, only to turn and see Okkels letting that defender off the hook by being nowhere near his man. The two aren't quite there yet as a partnership, and I suspect that's why he isn't going beyond him quite as often. He's better than Jensen on that side, and I was surprised he came off. I'm not quite sure what the thinking is there to be honest, but maybe he was tiring.
  2. He did. Also, Gueye had a couple of moments where he was back "helping" and nearly fucked it for us. I like him up there with Nisbet, but it does mean we've got to be aware of him switching off going back the way. Sportscene pointed out that Gueye didn't touch the ball once in their box, but in just about every other centimetre of the pitch. I think we're still going to have to do a bit of shifting around in the front four, I'm not sure it's quite right.
  3. Good result, probably just need one more win to avoid the drop. Back four were very good, as was Devlin when he came on. Jensen was fine on the left when he moved there. With three good fullbacks, I expect we'll just have to get used to rotation, which is fine. Thought Palaversa was decent. Gueye did a lot of work. Keskinen with an absolute beauty. I'd probably give MOTM to Nisbet though. Thought he put in a great shift, got in front of his man regularly and used the ball well, and quickly. He looked a very intelligent player today, and a goal and an assist is good going.
  4. Jensen to left back. No need.
  5. Shady Mo on to defend the lead.
  6. What a fucking hit
  7. Nisbet playing well though (typically waits for competition before he bothers his arse), so it'll be interesting to see what happens. He looks a big lad, so might come on for Gueye.
  8. Aye, I noticed that too. I wasn't sure if it was just the camera angle, and he maybe had less space than I thought. Or maybe he didn't feel he had the pace to get away from the man. He can fairly ping the ball if he connects, so I'd like to see him drive and have a shot now and again.
  9. Good half, fairly even stuff with both teams going for it but not giving much up at the back. Nisbet playing well for us. Gueye doing a lot of movement, but touch a problem. Back four all looking good. Keskinen and Okkels not really making the right runs and decisions. A long way to go to get three points.
  10. Yasss. Some ball by Okkels
  11. Who the fuck teaches camera men these days? It's fucking awful. Constant meaningless close ups of players and managers when the ball is in play, or just returning to play. It's horrendous. Who wants any of that guff?
  12. Another fucking tattie field.
  13. Aye, he's been not too bad at all. However, he isn't a sweeper, and Mitov is vital if we want to advance it quickly up the park. I'd give him another week though, he was clearly rushed back too soon last time round.
  14. It's on the 15th, if that helps.
  15. I'd just like to say that I quite like that you've put the date in the thread title. It threw me at first, but it's quite refreshing.
  16. Bring him home
  17. Fucking hell, 35 this year. Fantastic right back for the Dons in his day...
  18. It's a good one like. If I were a young red-shedder, I'd be on it. It fits pretty well with general football songery. Sevco killer (Keskinen) Fa fa fa etc better Run run run run, run run run all day Ohhhhhooo Repeat
  19. It's good that Queens get their big day out after that near banana skin in the last round.
  20. Maybe he just looks small next to Tobers. He didn't look 6ft2 up against their defenders at corners either, maybe they just had big players. We're all good then.
  21. Aye, bobbly shite suits them. Turgid game like. Anyway, I'll take Tims at home in the next round. Get it over and done with.
  22. Both the Paisley and Perth Saints' pitches are considerably worse than a decent plastic surface just now. Makes a mockery of the decision to ban them, the league should be enforcing standards.
  23. Jambos looking like making us wait for the draw with their equaliser. Dicks.
  24. Looked decent at the weekend. Can use his left foot and was comfortable in the ball and read the game well. However, he did seem a little small for an SPFL centre half. Maybe a bit of Richard Jensen about him? In that sort of in-between category, where he's got some good attributes but overall just not quite good enough. It'll be interesting to see, because the strength and height thing is a big issue in our league. Simon Murray will be a good barometer of his abilities.
  25. These types of incident happen all the time. What we were told previously is that if the attacking player isn't getting the ball then it shouldn't be a foul unless it's for violent conduct or some such. Of course, I don't think that is actually written into the rules, just the general advice for refs and VAR officials. The cross was shite, and was squarely on the head of the defender. The Hun would have had to have fouled him to get anywhere near winning that ball. Edit: obviously, they were also given a few extra minutes and a couple of corners after missing the penalty too
