Yep, he wasn't impressed. He's a dandy, and he'll be very aware of what the fans think too. Wright the new pawlett. Got some fantastic attributes, and as soon as he gets into the game, his confidence is given a dent by taking him off. Meanwhile Kennedy trips over the ball, runs to nowhere and gives the ball away on numerous occasions but lasts beyond the 80th minute. The give and go with hedges was just top quality. That needed to be built on. He should have hauled Wright across and screamed some encouragement right in his coupon, got him properly determined. I think it'll be a failure of AFC - not just McInnes - not to get a player out of Wright. Anyway, good result, and some real positives. Logan's challenge in the first half was top drawer, he had a good game. Hayes, McRorie and Ferguson quality too.
-
McKenna didn't start the second half due to illness. Covid after effects?
-
We could have done that with existing personnel. Watkins is basically the player Scott Wright should/could be, with Wright having more pace. Exciting player that can drop the shoulder and leave folk for dead and a decent finisher too (nae in a predatory/Rooney type way). Watkins is probably a little more physical in his directness. It's not that Watkins isn't a good player, I just think we're doing our own players a disservice.
-
I think McKenna is a better defender than Hoban. More aggressive. I also think McRorie had a better game the other day. He's good though, and I think he'll improve. I'm going to say it's a lack of trust with Hernandez. Not because he's a commie Venezuelan, but just the absolute panic and basic lack of fitba knowledge he showed when he first arrived. At present, I wouldn't say he's an improvement on Logan. That said, I really struggle to get a good idea of his abilities on TV. Really difficult to see if we're not passing him, or if he's not showing, or standing too close to an opponent. There was a couple of times I thought he was in space, only for the camera to pan to an opposition player a few metres away. I've yet to see him provide an overlap. Early showings suggest a player no better than we could produce from our youth setup.

Watkins is another in the mould of hedges, McLennan, Wright, mcginn, Kennedy etc etc. We just don't need him. He's fairly average, wouldn't add much to the squad. Just start getting the best out of the players we've got rather than looking for minor improvements elsewhere. He's nae a striker, that's for sure. I'd like to see us forgetting about a new striker and playing a front three, with focus on pace and pressuring defences. At least until Cosgrove or (shudder) Main return. Try it for a few games and see how it goes. 3-4-3 will do.

I've only played it a few times. One of my mates got a membership recently. Aye there once, wasn't bad, wasn't great. It's like a middle class hazelhead, but pleasant scenery and the like and forgiving enough for people like me. I haven't really mingled there as such, but I found it a lot more welcoming than portlethen. I can well imagine that for proper golfers, it is a little bit lacking.

I might be playing at deeside tonight. Protected from the wind, but will likely be too soggy for my abilities (shite). I've got a new (second hand) 3 iron to try out. I bet I'll be shit at it. I'll never play enough golf to be good, but it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Balnagask is about the level of my links abilities. Played murcar once in difficult conditions, it didn't appreciate the nuances of my game.

Good win in classic McInnes style. It'll do though, we looked way off the pace. Not much to write home about. Hedges probably unlucky not to start given he looked okay against the hun, but did well when he came on. Thought Bryson was an improvement on Ojo and Campbell, at times trying too hard, but showing much needed urgency. Much better in that central role alongside Ferguson rather than pricking about up front. Same as last few seasons, so might as well say it again. We need to give players far more minutes in the same position with the same players around them. Stop dicking about moving them left to right to middle and back again. Guys like Wright, Kennedy, hedges, McLennan need confidence building and a sustained run in a single position. Then gradually do the dicking about. For three seasons McInnes has been playing like we're the finished article and these guys and those before haven't improved. GMS was the last winger to get the majority of his minutes on one wing, and he was good.
-
Agreed. Hernandez been okay too. A definite improvement the last 15, where even Ojo appeared to take his finger oot his airse. They just look really off the pace.

How does the virtual season ticket pish work then? When I log in, I just see some weird test site by the looks of things? Fuck's going on? Spong: it's nae at Pittodrie
-
Nice hair?
-
Only if Wright turns out to be a magic striker. To be fair to him, he's a good finisher. I had forgotten he was still here and assumed he was injured. This will be his final final final chance. Hopefully he's fucking ace tonight.

Holy fuckers, they stole my idea. Series (nae film) out or coming out on Amazon soon. Still a good read.

I'm guessing that the "hoping to have a striker in" is just to keep St Johnstone guessing. It'll be Ferguson, because he can win headers. He's got the ability to adapt to different positions too, I'd trust his all round play in there, but I think his movement and finishing may not be up to scratch. I'd rather we took that approach than sign another striker in a hurry, but like everyone else, Ruth is the preference (although I've never seen him, he might be shite, and at 18 might just lack the physique).
-
Nice pics scotfree. You should have fed it some carrots and made it yer pet. They're a squeezer rather than a poisoner aren't they? I'd probably crap it if I saw one in the wild like, but mainly because of my ignorance, and I would assume they'd try and poison me. They're quite bonny looking creatures though, generally, I'm surprised they get such a bad name. Must be an evolutionary bias. Similarly spiders.
-
I'm guessing Hayes at left back, with Kennedy in front of him and Hedges on the opposite wing. Otherwise, the same as you. I'd like to see Ruth given the opportunity, perhaps in a front two alongside McGinn.

I think lightning is 276v unfortunately

Aye, that should have been obvious! Wasn't paying attention.

Does something like this nae work? I've nae outside line connection and have a surge protector plug on my router electrical socket. https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/BGSPDT21.html?source=adwords&ad_position=&source=adwords&ad_id=315107931576&placement=&kw=&network=u&matchtype=&ad_type=&product_id=BGSPDT21&product_partition_id=987624279487&campaign=shopping&version=finalurl_v3&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5IWoiP6n6wIVV-vtCh3edQ2mEAQYCCABEgIT0_D_BwE

I'm assuming he didn't mean he'd have played them all, just that we're down to our fifth choice, which is mental really. Who is that anyway? Ruth? Get him in. I'm guessing he'll go with McGinn, or something wild like Ferguson.
-
That wouldn't necessarily be the case. If the two had zero symptoms, then ten days would be the isolation period I think. Those who were in contact would be longer I think, 14 days.
-
Aye, I know, but he was atrocious at the start of the season. Those European games he was horse, culminating in the sending off against Rijeka.
-
Yep, he was rank in that game. Before January I was certain we should be shipping him ASAP, it was like he was disinterested, and made lots of errors. A few games at pittodrie where he really did assert himself and take a hold of the game and I thought he'd maybe turned it round. Then the game against the huns this season where he's back to square one. He's capable, I think, but I'm not sure we'll see it again. Expensive mistake if so.
-
But that wasn't the Ojo we saw from January to March though. He was the worst player on the park against the hun, and I thought the same in the European games last season, but he had a good run of 8-9 games where he was showing for the ball and getting stuck in post January. I'm not sure twitter is the best medium for analysis, but a fair effort.
-
Yep, he had a great final appearance last season, I was basing it on the fact that he didn't feature in the Huns game and Campbell came on, but I'm guessing that was because of injury. I didn't think he was as good an all round player as Shinnie. Better on the ball, maybe, but not as involved. Jack Ross couldn't get the best out of him at Sunderland, and I'd say that his purple patch at Hibs has been the anomaly in his career to date. Again, hope he proves me wrong etc etc. You should also be aware that I didn't want him here in the first place (too many midfielders) and so am probably a little blinded by that.
