  1. I'm pretty sure the guy on AFC Chat who says he was there posted months back saying that he was in the youth team at Pittodrie or something along those lines and seemed genuine enough. Given Blunderwood's previous attempts at belittling Lovell to force him out of the door, I'm inclined to believe the story to some extent.
  2. Yeah but how often does Martin O'Neil berate and belittle his own players while they're on the pitch, or even off it?
  3. We really need an experienced central defender to partner Diamond. As hard as he tries, he still makes huge errors and there's far too much pressure and responsibility on his shoulders. He needs someone alongside him like Russell Anderson had with Derek Whyte. If we use the wages earned by Lee Mair, Dave Bus, Richie Byrne and Karim Touzani, we should be able to get someone of decent quality while keeping Considine as back-up. Severin could drop back as a very last resort. Between McNamara and Maybury, we should have the right back slot position covered for the short term, but the combination of both their wages should enable us to bring in a right back of decent quality. Back-up may be a problem, but it's about time we started getting some return from the youth team. Left back position has been a shambles ever since McNaughton left/stopped being played there. Again a good quality player should be sourced and backed up by someone coming through the youth team, or perhaps sign another player who can play both full back positions. If our defence continues to be a shambles, there's not even a point in strengthening the rest of the team.
  4. An Arab posted on another board: Couldn't agree more.
  5. Knee jerk? At this rate I'll have arthritis
  6. How did Bus look when he came on?
  7. Cheers, that seems to work out fine for me, just need to beat the PJM's now.
  8. Looked on Redweb and the SFL site and couldn't see anything, anyone know when it's due to be played if we beat Utd? Got a trip I need to plan for early March and don't want to potentially miss it.
  9. No, Langfield was good, didn't even fuck up any kicks, my comments were more directed at the outfield players.
  10. Josh Walker was excellent, everyone else was shocking, especially Lee Miller.
  11. Bob Malcolm? Fuck The Prick
  12. The last sentence makes me think there may be some more activity....
  13. That's him signed for Motherwell now. Looks like Dan Smith is away. Is Richie Byrne the only left footed outfield player in our squad now?
  14. Bunch of arse!
  15. I think this guy is: http://www.thedandies.co.uk/messageboard/index.php?action=profile;u=562
  16. I can't see Considine making it to be honest, he always looks like he's petrified when the ball comes near him. I think I'm right in saying that he was told he was being let go before Ryan O'Leary decided he was homesick, so he was kept on to make up the numbers. We really need some experience at the back to partner Diamond. There's too much responsibility on Diamond at the moment, and if he falls into another spell of bad form, we're screwed. Derek Whyte was fairly shite, but the help he provided to the development of Anderson was invaluable. Don't have much hope for Maguire either, he should've spent last season on loan at a first division team to get the experience under his belt. I don't think he's got the footballing brain to match his quick feet. He's got the ability, he just doesn't know what to do with it, and I doubt he ever will. Even though I can't see either making it at Aberdeen, they both could do a job playing regularly for a bottom 4 SPL team or a good first division team.
  17. American striker, fantastic scoring record at college level, was wanted in the MLS draft by a few teams but opted to try and get a move to a European team instead. Was capped by Ireland last season in a friendly against Ecuador. Was on trial at Rangers a few months ago but injured his wrist or something and had to fly home early.

  19. The weather's gash too. If I hadn't signed up for auto cup, I probably wouldn't bother.
  20. I reckon he'd be much better through the middle, where he usually played before coming up here.
  21. Anytime I've heard him 'take the blame' is when he's completely slagged off everyone then finished off with 'but I guess as I'm manager, the buck must stop with me...' but it's fairly obvious he never means that.
  22. Blu Bar, just up from Paramount, assuming that's still where they hang about posing. Well I say posing, I mean struggling to stand up and leering at anything in a skirt.
  23. That reminds me, didn't Calderwood slag him off a few weeks ago and call him a bit odd because he was quiet in the dressing room and didn't go out on the piss to Blu Bar with Diamond and co? I feel a bit sorry for the guy, whenever he's talked to the press, he's always tried to talk up the club and his relationship with the fans even though he probably doesn't want to be here, regardless what you think of him as a player, he certainly doesn't deserve to be treated like this. And if I was a footballer reading that article, there's no way in hell I'd want to play for a manager like that.
  24. I wasn't at the match, but watching the highlights on the BBC site, some good work by Lovell put someone through on goal for what should've been a goal, and he used his strength well to get past a physically strong defender and win a penalty which should have been a goal. Calderwood's comments there are a disgrace.
  25. You can certainly criticise him for being responsible for us being out of the game in the first place.
