  1. He landed awkwardly on his shoulder in the last game he played and had to come off if I remember correctly.
  2. Good draw, should get rid of both Edinburgh teams too.
  3. Good watch that, although probably would have left out the QOTS clip, tributes don’t need to be balanced.
  4. He can hold the ball up and win headers in the box from crosses which is more than our other strikers can do. We would be better with Clarkson/Polvara + Gueye than we would with Gueye + Nisbet/Ambrose. Those are our options until we get a striker in.
  5. I thought Polvara looked quite good in the advanced “Clarkson” role. I’d go with Gueye up front unless we sign a top tier striker.
  6. If ever there was a game to give Devlin and Nilsen a rest…
  7. I can’t believe any sane person would have chosen to put Nilsen in midfield instead of Palaversa and sacrifice any mobility we had in that area. Predictably he did nothing other than kick people (and get caught under Balogen for their second). Morris taking one look at the defender on a yellow card and deciding he wanted no part in trying to take him on was a shining nugget on a turd of a team performance, ultimately inconsequential but gutless all the same.
  8. We could have conceded three goals in the 5 minutes or so they’ve been pricking about getting subs on.
  9. I don’t think Solberg ever played at LB? He played (terribly) at RB for a bit but was predominantly a CB. If I remember correctly Anderson played RB mostly while Solberg played in the middle and wasn’t until 2002 or so that Anderson moved into the middle. LB would have been Jamie McAllister or Andy Dow depending if Dow was in midfield or not.
  10. He can be developed into the sort of defender who wins most headers, clears his lines without taking risks and focuses on keeping things simple. Problem is, that’s not really the sort of defender that is effective in Thelin’s system. We need defenders who are comfortable on the ball, both in terms of passing and keeping possession in tight areas. The type of defender that will be comfortable playing in midfield. That’s never going to be Rubezic. You can see the difference in MacDonald looking solid playing in a Robson team and looking like a fish out of water playing for Thelin.
  11. I imagine they’ll be quite comfortable swapping wings quite frequently. Hayes and McGinn used to do that too during matches.
  12. This guy: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeppe_Okkels
  13. Bavidge seems to have been utilised in a wider role these last 12 months or so from what I’ve seen, and started wide right for ICT today.
  14. Bavidge has scored on his ICT debut, I think he’ll do quite well there.
  15. I can’t see Thelin relying on youth too much. Today he preferred having Nisbet play deep behind Peter Ambrose with obvious results instead of giving Fletcher Boyd a run out.
  16. I think our problems are a bit too deep rooted to be solved by making a couple of transfers unfortunately.
  17. That’s come directly from us pricking about at a goal kick, putting ourselves under pressure and giving the ball away 30 yards out. Every team in the league has figured this out.
  18. Can see the game being called off, it snowed quite a bit through the night, won’t be fun for the away fans and Dons fans living in the shire to get to the match.
  19. Nilsen there with the cherry on the top of a turd of a performance. Waiting until 90 minutes to bring on Morris and Polvara was ridiculous, especially when you see a walking dead Devlin skip past their left back so easily about 10 minutes earlier.
  20. Morris on for McGrath is well overdue.
  21. I see the logic in it, McInnes will have done his homework on Sokler and Nisbet and will have a game plan to shut them down. But he can’t have a plan for a striker who himself doesn’t know what he’s going to do next.
  22. This was one of the games where we would have been better going more direct. Our defensive confidence was shot, our goalkeeper a bit jittery and Rocky Bushiri at the back for them was just putting everything straight out for a throw in, a good target to try and win the 2nd ball against. Certainly better than having defenders pass goal kicks to Doohan who then gives possession immediately back to Hibs in injury time. When we’re not on it like today, we end up with both Nilsen and Shinnie dropping back to help out, meaning we can’t really get the ball forward with pace as Clarkson is isolated and well-covered. As soon as Rubezic fucked up, that’s exactly what happened.
  23. Calvin Ramsay not getting many games on loan at Wigan, could be an option.
  24. If we end up with Denmark, we should have a fairly unique situation where you could potentially see us both win all of the games and also lose all of the games (possible exception of Belarus at home). Having everyone capable of taking points off each other probably benefits us more than having 1 strong team that will run away with the group, one shite team that will end up with 0 points and a straight shoot out between us and someone else for the play off place.
  25. McGarry, Nilsen, Nisbet, Rubezic and McGrath off at half-time please.
