  1. Right. I have finally after working for over an hour got a full list of teams still in UEFA Cup. Those marked with a U after co-efficient are playing today in UEFA Cup and can be deleted as and when the go out which will leave the 80 teams for the draw. BUT Another spanner in the works for trying to work out the groups tonight is that Seville and AEK Athens have still to play in Champions League and one of those teams will have to drop into UEFA Cup and both have different co-efficients but it is reckoned that UEFA will take AEK's co-efficient since they are "seeded" to get knocked out of Champions League and Put into UEFA Cup, so would discount Seville at the top. Either way it is unlikely to affect our grouping tonight as both are higher in the rankings than us and 1 will go through regardless. When all teams that go out tonight are deleted from the list then the group pots can be added 123456788765432112345678 etc and groups more or less worked out. Only problem that MAY arise is swapping of couple of teams if groups come out with teams from same country in them that may face each other (i.e. Spanish side in seeds and non seeds but this again is unlikely) By 10ish tonight we can be reasonably certain of the 5 teams we can get in the draw but NOT 100% certain!! 2. Maybe sign him to give Lee Miller a boost showing there is a forward in the UK with as bad a scoring record as him?
  3. I find I am far more reasoned here as people with differing views I can debate with, on the hat I just get annoyed as people will make a statement and not back it up and repeat it and repeat it like the talking clock More probably to do with numbers to be fair. Take a large amount of folk and a few are bound to be like that. Used to be same on here before all the problems meant so many flitted and never returned!!
  4. Dargo was available in the summer on a free and had been on a fraction of the wage Brewster and Miller were getting.
  5. More like abuse, abuse and more abuse nowadays with almost every thread spoiled with petty squabbling. Bit like Donstalk was for a while not too long ago.
  6. Hope he turns out to be a find but an 18 year old binned now from 3 different clubs means don't hold out much hope.
  7. Lovell for a while has looked like he doesn't want to play here.
  8. To be fair JC said at the time of him re-signing that Touzani would be an important player this season with Russell leaving (along with Dan Smith who came back a totally different player and the one that made him sign the lad) so wouldnt read too much into what he blabs to Charlie!!
  9. Done quite well. Still not convinced he is going to be good enough in long term but so far has done a decent job.
  10. Thief!! Here's hoping the message was read and taken heed of and we take Hibs apart at the weekend!!

    Smileys

some crackers there - good work!!
  12. Tv obviously put a large dent on the crowd but fear by the time our first non tv game comes around (celtic home, Hibs away and Killie away before Motherwell at home) we will have alienated all the fans that were won back after end of last season. Must do something good in next 2 tough games to avoid this or crowds will drop again big time (attacking football might help but not much chance of that on sunday against Celtic)

    Speed increase?

Was at work i was getting painful speed problems but now sorted it seems.
  14. Ditto - should never have got rid of in first place!!
  15. Could very well be. And don't discount Killie yet either. If they beat us at Rugby Park and win their game in hand they are only 5 behind us aswell as Hibs would be.
  16. Had a bit of a laugh on the bus this morning when i read that and got a few stares!!
  17. The EE most certainly did name names. They even went as far as making up direct quotes. http://www.thisisaberdeen.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=148766&command=displayContent&sourceNode=148590&contentPK=16890705&pNodeId=148360 Michael Hart is confident the Dons can finally end their Ibrox hoodoo tomorrow ... because they have better players. Aberdeen travel to face Rangers in the SPL looking to record their first league win in Govan since 1991. Defender Hart highlighted the confidence in the Dons camp by claiming the prospect of going back to Govan in search of that elusive victory doesn't scare him. "I really don't fear Rangers at all," said Hart. "That's because we have better players in key positions in our team than they have in theirs. "I would certainly rather have Jamie Smith than one of their wingers. "I would also rather have Craig Brewster, in the form he has shown since coming back from injury, than any striker they could play. "And I'm not going to name names, but I would definitely prefer to have Russell Anderson on my side than their two centre halves. "When you look at it like that, there's not many in the Rangers team I would rather have in the Aberdeen line-up. "That's not to say I don't respect Rangers. "They have quality in some positions and will be boosted by having Barry Ferguson back for this game. "But if we can't be confident after the way we have fought to get results this season then we never will be. "Not having won down there for so long doesn't worry me. "If anything, our poor record at Ibrox puts extra pressure on Rangers. "Everyone will expect them to win because they normally do. "We are going into the game on a big high because we've been doing well and lost only one of our last eight games." But Hart was quick to warn his Pittodrie pals they still face a massive fight if they want to qualify for Europe next season. Aberdeen need to win at Ibrox to cut Rangers' lead to a point in the race to finish second in the SPL and get into the Champions League. If they fail Hearts could find themselves just three points behind in the battle for third and make the UEFA Cup. Hart knows it would be dangerous for anyone at Pittodrie to start believing a European place is already guaranteed. "We've done nothing yet," he said. "We could lose the next eight games, finish fifth and miss out on Europe altogether. "It's great to be where we are at the moment. "When we came into the new season I doubt if anyone gave Aberdeen a chance of being in the position where we might split the Old Firm. "But you won't catch me congratulating anyone until we have enough the points in the bag and have actually achieved something."
  18. Works in a PR role part time. Nothing like a press officer. And if he was press officer and was good stories like that would never get to the press.
  19. Haven't had one since Dave McDiarmed moved from the club to his own company which still does some work for the club.

    Introductions

I'm K-9 aka Kaino K-9 on old AFC Chat, new AFC Hat, Stand Free and old Donstalk. First game too long ago to remember but early 80s at Pittodrie against Dumbarton in old League Cup group stage was my first i think.
  21. Another in a long line of "stories" that highlight the need for a press officer at Pittodrie!!
  22. A very fair point and very eloquently put. Have an applause from me!!
  23. Can't remember too many chances coming from Miller lay offs or flick ons. 1 late goal against Celtic and the goal at Inverness when Lovell put in Millers header which was going wide are the 2 i can thnk of but sure if it is as you say you will remember and post many many more?
