I don't worry so much about my age, I'll be 48 in December, what does get me thinking is that I getting close to the age my mother was when she died.

My first reaction when anyone, apropos of nothing, asks my age is "28"! I guess that will always be my mindset, and bugger "midlife crisis" it's just spending the money you've worked for before some government takes it off you!

I think that's a very good point McM, no-one cosiders the fans travelling. OK we'd do/have done it for European competition but this is nothing like that. Dead in the water IMHO

For a long time I've had a kind of apathy towards the international side. Started with some of the squad selections under Vogts (I still think there some sort of bias (deliberate or otherwise) as to "how" you get picked, even today), this was exacerbated by the God-awful tactics employed at times, and has got worse in recent years after brief glimmers of hope with Smith and McLeish. These days I just want to hit my head against the walls of my padded cell whenever a squad is named, and whenever I hear the name "Levein" Don't get me wrong, I'll never wish ill on the national side, I WANT them to win every time and qualify, I just can't get emotionally attached anymore, to the extent I sometimes even forget the games are on, sorry.

Watched the women's international last night, USA 6 - 2 Australia. Some really good football on display, decent standard and some really skillful play from both sides (more from the USA though, obviously). Some damn good goals as well! Was USA coach's last game finishing with a W90 L6 D10 record! F278 A58 (Are you reading this Mr Levein!)
