Everything posted by Mackie's ace!

  1. Have we not been through this before, Sandy Clark is reserve coach is he not?
  2. Yeah Maguire's shot was off the bar. Surprised they only showed the one chance in the first half as there was a second header which flashed across the goal and Young also had a chance.
  3. The goal is on RedTV on the Gary McDonald feature.
  4. I see everyone has been enjoying their Easter Sunday.
  5. I'm sure we offset that by selling John Stewart to Falkirk for the same price. You win some, you lose some.
  6. I await a list of players who were willing to come to Aberdeen, of a better quality than who we signed.
  7. Nobody else is going have more money if they take over leadership from Jimmy, and therein lies the problem at AFC. We have no money.
  8. I would say that JMG don't seem to be the majority - maybe the vocal internet majority but not those at Pittodrie. The way the goal and the win realised so much relief from the crowd showed that - we might not be going through the best of spells but people were behind the team regardless. Obviously there are things people would like to change but the ones that call Jimmy a fat fuck/tango/hun who should be sacked etc are muppets. It won't solve our problem.
  9. My in house anaesthetists can't quite understand the story either. Journalists print shite. FACT.
  10. Me too! He played well. Mulgrew and Aluko were the two who got mentions from my brother in law. We were unlucky not to score in the first half I thought as we had a couple of very good chances which just managed to creep past the post. I didn't think much of Caley's "tactics" to be honest, not much of an attempt to play football. But, 3 points is 3 points and I'll take that any day.
  11. What was written on the back of the Rest in Peace banner? I couldn't work it out. Well done though, it looked good.
  12. He probably had something better to do, like the 11,000 other people at the game today.
  13. I had to laugh at the Ultras singing "Oh Jimmy Jimmy..." with 5 minutes to go. Clearly there are many fan groups behind JMG. However, this "apathy" that has been spoken of isn't as widespread as one might think as there were still some numpties who booed us at half time.
  14. They've beaten us twice in pre season games too.
  15. Sounds like the story has got it wrong somewhere!
  16. The argument and "reasoning" behind the protest is questionable in the first place, but really, when you think this time last year we'd just scraped into the top 6 with the last possible game remaining to do so with an 87th minute goal and with less points that we have currently with 2 games remaining before the split, it's a bit premature. Not that I would support it at any time, but some perspective is needed. We may not be playing silky, entertaining football but we're currently doing better than we were last year.
  17. It's not "common" but it can strike at any age, even if like Jess they are otherwise fit and healthy. Hopefully he'll make a good recovery.
  18. Really? So the shite players that we have in our team - Young, Mair, Foster, Mackie, Mulgrew, Maguire, Bossu...to name a few - that you often complain about, would suddenly become 'footballers' thanks to a new manager? So Jimmy is responsible for these players' limited ability? * *Limited ability as claimed by some/many - not necessarily my opinion!
  19. The management could tell the players all they like to try and motivate them, but if the players can't translate that into a performance on the park then surely they are more to blame?
  20. Exactly - I don't know anyone personally but know a few people who do work offshore and it could just easily have been them involved, so of course everyone is feeling it.
  21. Jimmy at Aberdeen: Played 220. Won 92, Drawn 70, Lost 58. Levein at Hearts: Played 170. Won 74, Drawn 55, Lost 41. Levein at Hearts had about the same consistency as Jimmy has now. They probably seemed better since we were so shit at the time. In Levein's 4 years they also went out the League Cup on penalties to Ross County, out to Caley in the Scottish cup (in the same season), lost 6-1 to Motherwell in the league, 4-0 to Falkirk in the Scottish cup, 5-0 to Celtic and no notable wins over either of the Old Firm or in Europe. Looks like Hearts under Levein were prone to the odd fuck up just like we are under Calderwood.
