  1. Dunno if I agree with it, but it worked for Mick McCarthy...
  2. Aye - cheating cunts. At least celtic beat hearts - setting them up to get pumped at the weekend.
  3. While I agree with you - I'll bet that his set was almost identical on those two occasions? Rockness does look fairly uninspiring - shame as it was mint last year.
  4. Hot Chip - Newcastle o2 Academy, 18th Feb... Ticketweb just charged us £8.22 'services' for 3 tickets.
  5. Fixed It's not even fun anymore trying to predict what AFC team will turn up..
  6. Pretty sure the Abbey is a Hun pub aswell... There's a signed 'admiral' top behind the bar.. Penny farthing - tiny pub.
  7. Awesome... this is turning into a good week!
  8. From the Saints web site... looking more likely that it'll be on...
  9. Any tips on where is best to park the motor??? Our plans is to hit perth early, get some food the go to the match - food is obviously town center but McDiarmid is miles out of town... also dont really fancy getting caught in the car park.. Any ideas? p.s. the loft is mint.
  10. Aye - this is it in a nutshell. AFC's major problem since bosman has been holding onto players - We get what looks a decent team together (see 06-07 season) and as soon as we achieve anything, the star center back is sold & not replaced. This happens again in the following season when three important 1st team players are either sold or leave under freedom of contract, next thing we know, 2 seasons later, derek young is at right back. Personally i think that this would have happened irrespective of the managerial choices that were available to AFC at the time - the calibre of manager that we can attract to the club is not high enough to convince existing player to re-sign on lesser deal that they would get elsewhere, add to this the idiotic policy of 2yr contracts means that it is virtually impossible to keep a team together - which is what has happened. Unless the club releases significant funds/wages to keep or replace players lost - it will never get out of this rut. It comes down to money - which we do not have.
  11. Note there are no direct quotes in that.... Have see Dobie a few times, most recently on the 3rd Jan when he came on as a sub against Everton... He was awful, 1st touch was terrible and no pace. Add to that the fact that his wages would be on a par with some of the higher earning members of our squad and its a no brainer. Also notice that Carlisle are releasing Vincent Pericard (he was on a short term contract there) - he would be a much better signing.
  12. I'm fucking ice cold at the mere thought of 'super' Scott Dobie in an AFC shirt.
  13. Scott Dobie is gash. The last thing we need is a slow, past it, has been - A cant be arsed Miller is a far better player.
  14. Aye thats pretty accurate. Both teams were pretty gash. Have been to both StJames.com & the Riverside this season, and I reckon NUFC will win that league by a country mile (they still aint at permiership standard thou) and Boro, unless they invest in Jan will struggle to make the playoffs.
  15. I can see Strachan going for a captain in gary caldwell in jan. He needs to do something - boro were dire on sat, newcastle hardly got out of 2nd gear.
  16. To play devils advocate here... If the money isn't there to fund the redevelopment of 1/2 stands - where is the money going to come from to build (& purchase the land) a whole new stadium?? In this economic climate there is virtually no chance of any public money getting put towards it & the club is effectively broke - the sale of pittodrie wont cover the existing debt & then we have to fund a stdium on top of that with no assets.
  17. Hate to break it to you.... but thats exactly what'll happen... The mere fact thats its out at cove will massively affect the 'on the day' fans - it'll no longer be a case of 2pm coming along and thinking lets wander down to the footy - anyone who works in altens & lives the other side of town will tell you what a pain in the arse it is to get there. I wouldnt rely at all on the council to provide the necessary public transport ofr the fans to get there either.
