  1. Fair doo's.. Your right in saying that you cant predict injury problems We get better value for money player wise in the summer - but you have to pay them the whole season, In Jan though, prices are inflated (not that we can afford signing fee's anyways...) and clubs, AFC especially it seems, can be held to ransom by clubs and players. Swings and roundabouts I guess...
  2. Exactly - If ever there is a sellers market, its in Jan - Lee Miller for 600k is a perfect example.
  3. I'll refer you to the events of Jan 2010....... January is the worst time possible to be looking for players.
  4. Anyone got any wisdom for the 16.00 at epsom??
  5. http://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10441~32097,00.html Only going off this - he is a former NI U21 player. No idea about the current NI senior squad.
  6. Not quite a League 1 side - they've just been promoted & the fact that they're getting rid of a defender probably means that they reckon he wont cut the mustard in league 1.... Having said that he has played in about half of they're matches this season. Went on loan to sheff wed in 06/07 and didn't get a game for them (that must have been in the championship?). This could go either way. Have never seen any L2 football, but have seen plenty lower League 1 stuff (carlisle & hartlepool) and the standard is terrible...
  7. nor more worried about next season...
  8. Looks a bit overkill for the 1st division?
  9. Aye - was a good game... was good to see the keeper getting involved at the end! Much better than the liverpool chelsea match!
  10. Yeah - suspended on ladbrokes.
  11. Sounds like he has totally run out of ideas. Dead man walking. Hopefully.
  12. His position has to untenable by now - if this 'run of form' continues into next season (and it increasingly looks like it will) we're fucked.
  13. Surprise Sur-Fucking Surprise.
  14. Got to remember that inter played for an hour with 10 men thou....
  15. What ever happens - Falkirk at home on saturday is a must win game... I do think it might be counter productive to sack him now though - who would take charge for the remaining fixtures?
  16. and he missed a decent chance aswell This could turn in to a pumping.
  17. Thats it though - every time we play the 'shite' teams, we struggle to break them down, lose a soft goal & end up scrabbling for a draw (or getting beat). I actually do think that there is enough quality in the squad to break down & beat the majority of the teams in lower half of the league.. but there seems to be an apathy about the team which results in these bad results. whether MM just aint a good enough motivator to get the confidence levels back up - I don't know, but the longer we go without a win, the worse the problem will get.
  18. Think the league table sums the season up pretty accurately. Thing is though - back in November when we went down to 9 men against hibs - we actually played really well & were unlucky to loose - the players realised they HAD to put a shift in for the last half hour. That to me suggests that while the players are capable of putting in the effort, but MM, whether it be tactics/man management is not getting that across to them.
  19. Yeah - inclined to agree - Chelsea had a good spell in the run up to HT, but in the second half, inter were very good. Some of their passing was immense. Also liked the way that inter went out with the express intention of winding up that cheat Drogba.
  20. And if it comes down to it, you just know our players wont have the balls.
  21. Thats the thing though - pretty much every time this season when we've played these so called 'shite' teams, they've invariably gotten the better of us - last weekend was a case in point.
  22. I dont know why I'm surprised anymore.
