Whilst its good to hear that he's getting players early (proactivity, always good) its surely partially down to him/the club, why we've fucked up in recruitment this summer. As someone mentioned in another thread, its been a fail of epic proportions. So really, thats the least they need to be doing that to make up for it. Our squad is threadbare. Hopefully we can ride it out. At least there were no emergency duff and young signings.

His spin doctor abilities are improving on a monthly basis. Its a load of crap but hell, if we're getting players like Fyvie, Paton and Pawlett breaking through and actually making an impact on the first team I'm happy. I still am unhappy though that we did not sort out our entire right hand side.

So no news at all? Its a bit disappointing really. Really needed another striker and ideally a right mid.

Read two books so far this summer, Le Carre's A Most Wanted Man, quite enjoyable and obviously quite relevant to today's politics, and Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon, again very interesting and recommend it Just starting The White Tiger by Arabind Adiga.
