  1. It was mentioned that we (the fans and possibly McGhee) wanted to extend his deal. But I think this is just making it all official.
  2. I don't think he was chasing players that he was never going to get (Hughes aside). And, as Ajja rightly says, we don't know what goes on behind the scenes, the fans very rarely do. This season is a transition season, but lets not go overboard with the arab result, we usually lose to them. Now whilst it is increasingly frustrating that neither he nor JC seem to be able to tackle Avril with Aberdeen, we do finish above them at the end of the season This season, we have to be extra patient for the very reason that it is a transition season, hopefully in Jan we'll be able to get a couple of players in in Jan. But this Saturday, we really need to play 4-4-2, as I said, our midfield is incredibly lightweight at the moment and we need to nullify the HIVees attacking play and get them on the counter, which is where they are very vunerable. MM forget about 4-3-3 (4-5-1) until you get the players in that are able to play your chosen style.
  3. Positive to read that we are actually on the ball for a change, and I hope he signs. I have a feeling he may wait until Jan though, or am I being too sceptical?
  4. I recommend watching the whole of these highlights, good game with some great finishes (FAO: Lee Miller, this is how you finish from that position). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfpvLjKl_uc
  5. I have to say, I'm not confident about this at all. I fear the worst, but I hope that McGhee fires the team up after what was an embarrassing home defeat to our local rivals. Will we see a return of the Ultras "play for the jersey" banner?
  6. To be honest, I wonder if he's a bit of an ego maniac. There are ways to invest in the team, without handing it to a manager/board he doesn't agree with. Why not invest directly in the youth setup? I just wonder if this wasn't big enough for him?
  7. I liked it, and as you said, dealt with an aspect of India that doesn't get written about very often. It was a bit lightweight, certainly from reading the back, you got the impression he was going to go a bit further and make you feel bad for feeling the way you did, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
  8. Agreed, can only be a good thing for the TMSTID I don't think anyone at Dundee would be stupid enough to actually allow the club to go down the same route as they did before, surely?
  9. From watching the highlights, a few things came to my attention. - Fyvie was unlucky with his effort, I'm sure he's put those kind of chances away often enough before. Hopefully he doesn't let it affect his confidence. - Miller, looked promising early on though his effort from the Paton cross should have done better. He did everything right, I still don't know how he missed. - Paton should be played through the middle and not on the wing. I don't think we're getting the best out of him there, and it would appear the commentator felt the same. - Ross looked promising and it was encouraging to see him take on the defender and knock a decent cross in the box. Shame no-one was on the end of it but encouraging nonetheless. How was his defending? Dundee united looked like the deserved the result and fair play to them, the weather cannot be used as an excuse for this defeat, as they coped and took their chances. We really need to address the midfield in Jan, can anyone shed any light on McDonald, did he actually play? We are far too lightweight in this department and I hope something will be done about it.
  10. Is the Buenos Aires derby any good mini? Watched a bit of it but not a lot was happening.
  11. I said to topcorner yesterday afternoon that I feared that this would be a bad weekend for football, and it was How Carragher managed to stay on the pitch was beyond me. Liverpool deservered it today, they wanted it more, but the didn't half help them along. What is the point in Nani I was really shocked he didn't bring Anderson on.
  12. At least we're consistent at something
  13. Wondered that very thing myself. But Nicholson did get some stick initially from some quarters because of his origin and his poor performances, but he soon won them over anyway.
  14. I'm interested to see if McGhee bring Ross straight into the team (what with him being a natural right back) but either way, 3 points please! COME ON YOU REDS. Lets get intae these minky bastards! :ultras: :ultras: :ultras:
  15. Something we've not had since Hart left us. I thougt he conducted himself very well in the interview and I was impressed with his attitude. I had my doubts over him signing for us, but he certainly says the right things, and hope that his performances back him up. I certainly hope he gets the full backing of the support.
  16. Last chance salloon for Wright. Hopefully he finds some kind of form and adds something to the team. I don't think Dazza will ever look like a player redordead
  17. I'll avoid the obvious one cos i'm sure its been done. Daft Punk - Human after All
  18. Really could do with a win tomorrow just to maintain a close distance with HIVs. Hopefully the team can build on what were clear positives last weekend and get a couple of goals and 3 vital points.
  19. Harsh on Fulham. How pants is Pantsil though? Nevland has to hang his head in shame though, an opportunity to take it forward and instead passes it back into his own half where all the Roma players were...shocking.
  20. Nice save from Schwarzer! Good atmosphere. Not the best match on the eye but good fun, rock the underdog! Nevland unlucky not to score there.
  21. Fulham 1-0 up against Roma. Fully deserved so far, sounds like a cracking atmosphere at The Cottage.
  22. Flock me! 4-0?!? Watched the first 1/2 of the Lazio-Villareal game. Villareal were unlucky not to be in front. But I couldn't understand why the stadium was so empty?
  23. Sharpie I think this is what you were chatting about the other night was it not? Anyway, enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpUfUYfio8o
  24. Too late, you're already in it But yes, I agree with what you are saying. JC certainly seemed to play certain player irrespective of form. Young due to his "good to have around the place" attitude certainly would still be a starter. But it is all if's, but's and maybe's. JC did play Pawlett and Paton towards the end of the season, but whether or not that was due to having very little choice is open to debate.
  25. Baggy, apparently Fyvie was set to leave as Jimmy didn't even realise that he was on our books and wasn't dealing with his contract renewal. WM, worried and annoyed, stepped in and it was one of the falling outs between the pair. As I said, this is all speculation.
