    Films

Watched hacksaw ridge today along with a streetcat called bob. Two very different kinds of films (obviously). Can't recall if someone had watched hacksaw ridge already (thought they had) but brilliant film, high intensity and again based on a true story. Streetcat called bob was also a true story, one which I could relate to having seen the very guy and cat it was about on the 38 bus home after work once. Nice seeing party of London I'd lived and work near.
  2. I'll try find where I read it
  3. Didn't they recently lose one of their technical team to McLaren? Hopefully it doesn't impact their development over the course, but would love to see them hit the ground running.
  4. So big changes have been made ahead of this season, which will hopefully see a return of some more excitement after the final bernie years. Could Vettel see a return to form given the cars favour more down force this season? Looking forward to it anyway, hopefully Ferrari will live up to their pre-season promise and be competitive.
  5. Some strike by Podolski against England (who were wearing a very Scotland-esque kit btw). Nice way to sign off your international career.
  6. So was impostor Wallace finally shown up and found his level? I've been sick to the back of my teeth with telling Huns he's a waste of air, would please me immensely to know he had an absolute stinker. Not that the rest of the back line are any good anyway. Hopefully this is just another step in the right direction to bring the end of that hateful team of regan, Strachan and magoo.
  7. You're getting your wish, 1-0 already
  8. You would have been able to hear the gun shots from the bridge, she probably so people falling over with blood at the same time. The gate that the guy would have come through (press / passholder) is only guarded by up to 3 unarmed guys with the armed officers once you're in the ground. Certainly the case when i've ever been there. I'd imagine he pushed past whilst stabbing the police officer.
  9. The guy is a lunatic. If he's picking players that aren't playing for their clubs (which has been covered by others), you really have to question his methodology. I feel bad for Tony doc as it should be an honour, and he's quite rightly proud, but these two cunts have soured it.
  10. Death toll risen to four now
  11. Police officer in addition to the other woman apparently, what an absolute arsehole the attacker is.
  12. That is actually factually incorrect.
  13. You get loads of tourists on that bridge but also quite a few folk work in and around the area. BBC had a reporter who'd spoken to a group of French school kids who were on the bridge. Sounds like chaos.
  14. Seems that way. Seems like two separate attacks. Although the knife attacker was a bit daft. Wasn't going to get very far stabbing a policeman when all entrances are pretty heavily armed. Hopefully the one death is just him.
  15. Hearts have (from what I can tell) 5 full size outdoor pitches and an indoor facility? This is shared with the university if I'm not mistaken. I'd say we're on par (minus the indoor facility) with that? The two pitches closest to the road would appear to be the designated academy/ community use pitches which could offer 4 7aside pitches if I'm not mistaken. I'd expect nothing less (I do think more should be done to encourage other sports) as part of the community aspect. Any less in scale or size would be deemed a token gesture. The fact theyre 3g and floodlit should be encouragement in itself. Are they (the council) not looking to build a lot of new houses nearby? Would imagine folk from the surrounding areas would happily use those rather than the sub standard pitches at the sports centre down the way.
  16. Unsurprisingly Storey linked with a move away, Dundee and Motherwell: https://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/aberdeen-miles-storey-summer/
  17. Birth of one of the greatest contributors to our club - Teddy Scott
  18. In addition to what ED has said, the reason why they are so large are for community it use. Last thing we'd want after spending all that money on new facilities, which dont go far enough imo, is that the club would have to deprive someone from using said facilities. Personally, I think the club should have bilt an indoor facility as it doesn't address winter training. We are a community club and what the club are doing in terms of this goes a long way to cement this vision.
  19. Ignoring all the bile in there, you've yet to back up your claims about alternative sites being offered by the council to the club. I think you'll find we've been more than happy to engage with Jess who has coherent arguments which deserve responding to rather than erratic statements. Take a moment, breathe and think before writing. And just as an FYI, I think you'll find a few of us are more than au fait with the planning and construction processes, especially of stadia. Edit: I'd also like to add, not everyone on here is in the pro stadium camp, it's call debate.
  20. But it's old farm land and it's out of town. Kings Links will be quite pricey due to proximity to the city centre.
  21. You're right, I was being kind.
  22. I'm sure Kow is jesting Although they do hold a mins silence for everything these days
  23. I was always under the impression that the council were not helpful at all when it came to afc.
  24. Wasn't sure if this should be here or in the politics thread but Martin mcguinness has passed away
  25. Where would it be otherwise?
