  1. Hondas are built in Swindon, Nissans in Sunderland. Even the Mitsubishis that everyone wants are put together here. When the timing belt slipped on my Polo I didn't need a new engine, so that is the biggest load of regurgitated dealer guff I've ever read. The car went into a safe mode mode limiting my revs and power and a light came on telling me to take it to the dealer and that was a 51 plate. As for Japanese looks, reliability and quality... Rattling, wind noise infested, dated, oil hungry and abused wrecks are a few phrases that would describe most 90's ricers. They may have looked modern and been some of the fastest motors in their day but the economies of building Porsche baiter's with an RRP of a Golf GTi means the build quality is not there. Likewise the type of drivers who were tempted by such cars points to them being thrashed to within an inch of their mechanical lives on a daily basis. As for tighter emissions being the reason the new Civics are slower than the older model, VAG managed to build an engine with 50 more bhp as standard than the previous generation while also making it more green. I quite like Jap cars and have considered buying a Scooby on a couple of occasions, but to claim they're better looking and better built than German cars is a bit of a misnomer, even being faster and more reliable is barely true nowadays.
  2. Come one then, what position does Ricky Foster, who has played most of his professional career as a fullback, actually play? And I'm not interested in what position he played in the youth teams, otherwise we should surely be referring to Willie Miller as a striker not a centre back.
  3. Exactly McGhee's already got rid of one full back who can play on either side, what would be the point in taking in another one. We need more strikers and more centre backs.
  4. I'm still waiting for them to arrive
  5. I thought the over exaggeration of Willie's wages and the mention of the toaster would have given away that I wasn't being altogether serious in the first part. I couldn't give a shut if Willie's comment doesn't come across as being particularly supportive of the manager, McGhee needs to know the pressure is on from above and a wee reminder that fitba is a simple game played by simple folk.
  6. Me neither.
  7. It's a dig at the fans he's saying we don't understand McGhee's tactics!!!!!!!! Well maybe if the failed chipper proprietor gave back some of his £10 million a day wages AFC could send us all on a fitba coaching course and buy us all a toaster.
  8. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
  9. All because he's going to be a slap heed, pity his brother didn't inherit the same baldy gene
  10. Oh aye one that was probably best forgotten.
  11. As far as I'm aware we only lost Miller/MacLean so, one striker out three in.
  12. And of those Mo Ross was here October to December 31st, Marshall January to May and I thought it was fairly common knowledge that Grassi was on less than fuck all and Duff fuck all. Wouldn't stretch the imagination too far to suggest those wages being swallowed up by signing on fees and wages in this seasons squad.
  13. Just as an example, shopping lower down the market than Aberdeen, Mark Yates this summer managed to assemble an entirely new squad (we had one player signed on for this season at the end of May), to replace a squad that narrowly avoided a second successive relegation. Despite not having our best midfielder or centre back for large parts of this season so far, he has managed to identify, coach and organise this squad of players to be sitting just out of the play-off spots in November. Now the costs involved in punting the last incumbent was the reason I was very vocal about it being the wrong decision, but to compare the Aberdeen managerial records of the two is quite frankly a slight on Calderwood who was a veritable success compared the mismanaged incompetence of McGhee's transitional reign. The potential chance of falling crowds and reduced corporate income were sighted as reasons for Calderwood's demise, well in-case the board hasn't noticed the reality of that premonition is here, only under the watch of McGhee. In an ideal world McGhee would realise that by stubbornly hanging on for a undoubtedly undeserved pay-off he is tarnishing his standing as a club legend and maybe if he was a manager here in the time he created his legend McGhee may have done the right thing. Unfortunately in the modern football world where football folk probably do kick their Grunnies for £50 a week more than their current contract, you can't hold that attitude, however contemptible, against McGhee. Therefore doing the right thing has to fall at the feet of the board. Everyone on that board should be pulling up their sofa cushions tonight to pay off the current coaching team. There needs to a unanimous decision in appointing a successor and the successor needs to be given what's left over after the pay-off added to anything they find in their Range Rover ashtrays to buy players for what-ever position a competent manager would identify as requiring attention, in the January window.
  14. As it stands... Position Team P GD PTS Full Scottish Premier table 1 Rangers 12 17 31 2 Celtic 12 23 30 3 Motherwell 12 6 22 4 Hearts 12 4 20 5 Inverness CT 12 4 18 6 Dundee Utd 12 -5 17 7 Kilmarnock 12 3 16 8 Hibernian 12 -8 11 9 St Johnstone 12 -10 11 10 St Mirren 12 -11 11 11 Aberdeen 12 -11 10 12 Hamilton 12 -12 9 Wonder if McGhee is a gambling man, maybe the discussion concluded with "I'll walk away if we end up bottom of the league tonight"? Hence the delay.
  15. Either way the silence from the club is contemptible.
  16. Byrne would have been in the summer
  17. Good few full backs in there I'm sure even the worst would be better then our present none... in fact I bet you could make a team capable of being more than 2 points off bottom in this seasons SPL out of that lot.
  18. Even then was it not only £1-2 million of debt from the RDS that gave the Milne the leverage to get on the board.
  19. Surely that was the idea. There is the potential they could be in the same league next year FFS, stinks of a public reminder to everyone that their football club was moved to a new location and they're still angry about it.
  20. Didn't someone from the Hat go to meet Jimmy, fawned all over him while he was there then went back on the Hat to slag him off?
  21. If Roy Hodgson knows what is good for him he'll be straight on to wiki to check out McGhee's record. Statistically speaking Aberdeens worst ever manager has a 100% record in winning the Champions league when appointed first team coach at Liverpool.
  22. With Collins or without do you think? Wouldn't be too unhappy with Collins.
  23. Stoney has 5 usernames?
  24. Fucking Fans! AFCF'sMG!
  25. The thing with Ifil is, he has never been: A) a footballing centre-half B) A right back Both of which McGhee has attempted to play him as, given McGhee signed him where would you lay the blame?
