  1. They were the abstension, as I understand it.
  2. Comparing Alex Thomson's and Graham Spiers' opinions on Stewart Regan's Scotsman interview in which he claims that scottish football is dead if Sevco/Rangers aren't allowed into SFL1 speaks volumes about the need for objective journalism, removed from the footballing establishment. One claims the comments, if true, "amount to professional suicide", the other opines "Stewart Regan captures exactly the intractable Rangers dilemma". Can you guess which of these viewpoints comes from a serious and respected investigative correspondant and which from a man who has self-confessed form for being too close to the powers that be to make objective assessments?
  3. I will be returning to watch AFC games when I am back in the country, and will be boycotting Kilmarnock. It will be a disgrace if the SFL tear up the rulebook to accomodate the new club, but there isn't much AFC can do about that, short of pressing for Cockwomble's resignation, and I think the damage is already done there anyway. In any case, I just can't see the SFL clubs swallowing it. Cockwomble and Regan should be hounded out of football, but it won't stop me supporting Aberdeen if they survive.
  4. Stewart Regan, Neil Doncaster and David Longmuir are all an utter disgrace. Bringing the game into disrepute with every minute they hold office, and clearly not 'fit and proper persons' to run the game. RESIGN NOW. All three of you.
  5. One undeniable truth of the situation is that, when all is said and done, Neil Doncaster must no longer be a part of Scottish football. The man is a disgrace, as is all he represents within the game. Even if Aberdeen vote against this circle-jerk of a proposal, I could not in good conscience contribute money to an organisation in which he holds office. If he cannot be sacked by the member clubs, then all 11 should resign from the almost unredeemably tainted SPL and ask permission to rejoin the SFL (from the bottom if required). The SFL chairmen who have spoken publicly seem to be the only players in the story capable of escaping this nonsense with any credible dignity.
  6. We (everyone involved in Scottish football) all need to take a step back, and stop looking at this as 'the Rangers situation'. They are (were) one club in forty-two. Far more than forty two if we adopt a pyramid system and allow all clubs to rise and fall on their own merit. This kind of protectionism, in which a future cannot be conceived in with things operate differently cannot, must not, be allowed to stand. Thus any question of Rangers playing in the SPL/Div 1/Div 3 becomes irrelevant. Rangers are utterly and self-evidently unfit to join any league by the start of the coming season, so they no longer figure in the equation of Scottish football. The really interesting sitution, from my point of view, is the reaction of the so called 'blazers' and sections of the print media to this debacle. To me, no longer is the question, "What happens to Rangers?", but "What happens to Neil Donaster (and by extension the SPL hierarchy)" and "What happens to Jim Traynor (and by extension the whole festering cesspool of entrenched self-serving hacks who post copy in central Scotland).
  7. Does anyone know anything about SPL procedural rules? What would it take to get a no-confidence vote in Doncaster added to the schedule of Wednesday's meeting?
  8. Superb article. The last paragraph in particular I feel warrnts repetition to many on here:
  9. If they get 0 votes, what percentage out of 30 is that? Enough for a recount? Also, and I feel I may be repeating myself here, there's a reason why that shitrag is nicknamed after rangers (deceased). Every time you buy a copy you're killing a small orphaned African puppy, YOU BASTARD! PPS unnamed SLF sources have had nothing useful to contribute since their seminal 1991 hit 'Last train to (Glasgow) trancentral'.
  10. THIS. This this this this this. Abso-fucking-lutely. I still don't believe for a second that any SFL clubs will vote for these proposals. If they don't, and the SPL clubs do the right thing and back them, Cockwomble must not be allowed to show his face within our footballing community again. If they don't, and the SPL teams fuck them over and follow through on the 'threats' thinly disguised in that letter, I will never spend another penny on supporting Aberdeen or any other SPL club, but will turn my support to an SFL club (in my case probably Morton), and encourage all others to do likewise, in the hope of replacing the SPL as the top division in Scotland, and running the Cockwomble out of our game. If they do, somehow, vote for this... I can't imagine any scenario where the SFL would actually vote for this. I've no idea what I'd want to do, but I'm sure that whatever it is, Cockwomble being hounded out of Scotland would be the last of his worries.
  11. I was really starting to get bored of the whole hun implosion debacle, but this John Brown stuff has brought it to a new level of entertainment for me. His crazy deluded, up-to-eleven brand of hun bampotery is an aspect that has been so far missing from anyone being taken seriously in the pantomime. Thanks 'Bomber'. *popcorn*
  12. If any proposal to put Sevco into division 1 was actually put to the SFL clubs, I could see it getting kicked out by a 30-0 vote. Division 1 clubs would all be voting, in effect to turn their league from probably the most competative in the country, where as many as 7 of the 10 of them could conceivably challenge for promotion to the SPL, to the least competative. Arguably they might see some financial gain from TV revenue from Sevco games, but they would get this somewhere down the line anyway when (and if) Sevco work their way back through the ranks into division 1. Division 2 and 3 clubs would be voting against having at least 2 very large gates in at least one season each. On top of this, one club in each division would be voting against their own promotion into the division above. The idea is a complete non-starter. All that Longmuir, Regan and Cockwomble can achieve by suggesting it is to: a) buy Sevco some time to put a team together for a div 3 entry bid, which if they had to submit right now they would be in danger of losing to a team who can field a team and produce audited accounts and business models (probably the actual reason behind the proposal, IMO) and b) make their positions within their respective bodies (even more) untenable when their members turn around and tell them to ram it.
  13. The SPL couldn't even sell Sevco to their own members, who actually had something to lose by rejecting them. There isn't a single SFL club that has anything to gain by putting them in Div 1 instead of 3. They have no chance of winning a vote. None. Relax.
  14. Dear Turkeys, The festive season is fast approaching...
  15. It's still nonsense, for the reasons stated above.
  16. You ought to stop buying that 'newspaper'. This story of theirs is obviously, and demonstrably total nonsense, written only to sell printed toilet paper to lobotmised (ex) hun monkeys. Absolutely nothing to do with journalism whatsoever. Even if the SFL board had agreed some deal, they still require the consent of at least 22 member clubs. At least 3 have already publicly said 'no'. 'Done deal' my sweaty arse. Cheer up and stop propogating this drivel.
  17. Don't pay any heed to Jim Traynor. He may be slightly more articulate and less loathsome than the likes of Charlie Allan and Chick Young, but he's no better informed than either.
  18. Rangers disappear from existence... Chick Young sacked... Champagne on ice for the Thatcher death party. :ultras:
  19. Interesting article here: http://rangerstaxcase.wordpress.com/2012/06/22/an-unholy-mess/ Seems less and less likely to me that they will be in any state to field a team in ANY division next season.
  20. Hmmmm. Thats about 150% of their support.
  21. Appropriately, also the 'fat lady singing'.
  22. Yeah, but you didn't say it in big scroley red letters, so shut it.
  23. Agreed, but if he qualifies, then so does Theo, IMO opinion. Oh yeah and, especially considering the comparative stewardship of individuals I'd rather ot sully this thread by mentioning... [move] Dick Donald [/move]
  24. I kind of hope we do go bust. Based on recent events that seems to mean... *Wiping out you debt *Getting to keep your stadium *A pledge that 'football will be played' *An opportunity to be rid of a hopelessly incompetent and corrupt executive structure. None of which we have otherwise.
  25. With evidence so compelling in terms of Rangers' sporting and financial misconduct, balanced against the prospect of an almost entirely quantifiable cost of not having them around for a few seasons, anyone who is truely 'yet to make a decision' is surely not a fit and proper person to run a football club. Please tell us, Mr Milne, what is the missing part of the puzzle that you need to make your decision? If you have to wait for 5 other clubs to declare, in order that our vote doesn't matter, then to me that characterises everything that is wrong with the club under your stewardship, and I am finished with Aberdeen until you are gone.
