  1. Spartans it is then. They'll sit in and put any free kick into the box. Big physical side but full timer fitness should show.
  2. A small mention for Mackenzie today. Thought he was excellent and had been pretty consistent this season. Could be the next big money sale of he keeps this up. I like the positivity from the full backs. Clearly being allowed to play and finding themselves in great positions. Second game in a row where Nelsen has been very good. Never breaks out of a saunter but seems to boss the game.
  3. Didn't offer much when he came on. felt for ester, odd we'd set up in the first half like we did on the second he would've had more chances
  4. To be fair Nelsen just wasn't looking when he passed that. Shinnie falling out of it. Surely we have a CM to bring on.
  5. Thought Morris had been out most dangerous player. McGrath wide slows play too much. Be good to see topi come on left and ideally take pape or Ester off. Two up there haven't really been involved.
  6. I only watched the highlights on BBC but weirdly I thought that he looked tidy before being linked. Can't remember much of him from the opening day though. Either he wasn't playing or didn't stand out.
  7. More above just to emphasize that a couple of misses doesn't have me worried about sokler. If he can score one in 9 he'll be doing fine.
  8. Consistency is key
  9. I'm still giving sokler time. More than capable. Miovski never scored every chance he got either. Have a bit of faith. This topi signing though is a great statement to our rivals that we are the biggest of the rest. Clips look great and things are coming together. Still not too sure about defence, let's hope we can score plenty.
  10. Good result, could've had more ball but nobody will grumble with six points. Plus points: Nilsen dominated that game and rarely wasted the ball. Devlin beating his man time and again, huge shift in confidence. Molloy looks a player. ( Error apart ). Great to see Vinny involved and scoring. Negative: need to create more chances and the defensive blip. Didn't think gueye or Ambrose really took their chances. All in all happy with that, I don't think we can claim to be challengers yet but we've certainly improved already.
  11. Commentators curse there. Good start, ester should probably have gone first time but gogic was niggling. Not really got the wingers into it. Could be better, could be worse. I'd bring in Vinny and take off gueye moving McGrath to 10 or off for another striker. Doesn't have the pace on the left to get away from his man.
  12. Fosterinho and amy MacDonald Quality on insta and very down to earth.
  13. Who does he knock out of the team if he's as good as suggested? May also suggest that McGrath will be used as a winger for the season
  14. Thought we were very good for about half an hour. Then got dominated. Which shouldn't have happened. A lot of miovski praise but for me he should've added to the score but bottled the challenge to get in. Solid three points to start but work to be done. Morris at times looked great. Taking people's on and getting in the box. Final ball needs work. Great second goal. Well worked and finished.
  15. Had hoillett already retired before coming to us? Makes sense that he was only there for the season if that was the case. The miovski debacle rolls on. Needs to be playing to be in the shop window unless a deal is done. I've never been his biggest fan ( although he did improve a lot last year) but it's starting to look there isn't a bidding frenzy going on. I reckon if we get a sniff of £5m he's gone
  16. Sadly I chose to watch stenny get pumped at Falkirk. (Terrible officiating there today.) Watched the highlights and ester looked sharp. I genuinely think he's a very capable replacement when bojan goes. I also like Ambrose. He offers us something different. I'd like to see us still bring in at least one winger and McGrath and Clarkson can fight for the #10
  17. Good game, end to end. Still a bit sticky at the sharp end. Decision making could've been better but got the finger out and got the result. Hancock looked great.
  18. Looks like Jimmy has some tactical nous. Shinnie's awful control with the assist there.
  19. At least two of those boys were playing against stenny in the bottom tier last season. this might help Jimmy see the rebuild needed.
  20. I mean, I may have championed McCabe for the job a couple of times. They just seem to know their jobs and what to do when they have the ball. Getting it out to the winners and trying to deliver. We seem to trip over it in their half
  21. Airdrie knock out about well. This will be a test.
  22. As soon as I seen the team I came straight here. I wasn't disappointed
  23. I would give mcgarry the season. Guy moved across the world and will have taken time to adjust. He has a bit of something and a big bit of naivity. A solid game plan should improve that. I said it in the other thread, I don't think shinnie should be an automatic fixture in the team. People keep saying he's a winner but he was over run at East Kilbride and was involved in some big failures last year as our leader. I can confess that he also had some great games but he should always set the tempo and too often it's found lacking. Jimmy needs to bring in some winners to give the squad a bit of a kick up the ass this year.
  24. If agree with you. What we really failed to do was dominate. Shinnie just doesn't have the presence needed and the last couple of years reflect that. Hopefully the new guy can stamp his authority on games. I thought Morris was ok but we could do with better. Mcgrath ( goal apart ) doesn't strike fear into anybody, I wouldn't worry if he was against us. I think we still need a left winger, right winger and a RB with some pace to get us out from the back.
