  1. Nah dinnae really agree wi' that mate. I know most of my mates are opposed to this. And I know most of my mates normally go past Cove to get to Pittodrie anyway! Stickin the new stadium out in some industrial belt is gonna suck cos it's gonna be a lifeless shell wi' nae character. Basically, it's gonna be another Almondvale. Sure, the Emirates Stadium is filling faster than they can say "Highbury?". But we're nae Arsenal! We're lowly Aberdeen. I struggle to believe that we are putting 4/5000 fans off coming to the matches for the pure reason that parking is tricky! Even before traffic restrictions were enforced all over the city, our core attendance has always been around the 11-13,000 mark for the past three decades. We have little fluctuations such as European ties, fan-get-fan promos and the likes. But even when we were ruling Scotland and planting the seeds for Scottish clubs in Europe, our attendances weren't much more than they are now. And back then, it was friggin easy to park yer car near Pittodrie. I mind the bank of cars that used to park half way up the Broad Hill. Anywhere you could find a space, you'd park. Wardens weren't an issue back then. Shovin a stadium in the middle of an industrialised area (that's where I'm assuming it's gonna go) is gonna put the boozers and the walkers off. You'd be surprised how many thousands of Aberdeen fans hike it to the games! Probably more than make it there by car. Unless the city make it a free or discounted ride service (whether by train or bus, who cares) to Cove, there'll be a sharp decrease in the number of regular walkers going to Aberdeen matches.
  2. True. A much better idea! Can you imagine us snappin up a song that's got the dulcit tones of Jimmy Calderwood, Richie Byrne, Derek Young, Derek Soutar and Darren Mackie on it? Fuck, ye couldnae sell that if it was a fuckin charity record!
  3. Always said just turn the current Pittodrie 45degrees, build a new stand inplace of the Main stand, only build it so it actually goes OVER Pittodrie Street. Can we demolish that old gas works? Get something in there! Get rid of the shitey carpark and make the opposition fans WALK to the ground, like we have to do against Hibs.
  4. Who would you rather watch? The Dons versus KILLIE, where the winner moves ever so closer to that ellusive 5th spot in a league where the winner has been decided before the first ball is kicked ... or the Dons versus COPENHAGEN where the winner goes through to the last 32 of the continent's second-top competition??!!!!!!!! The last 32!!!!!!!!! When was the last time we were in the last 32 of the friggin Scottish Cup?
  5. Need a new song. European Song belongs to the Gothenburg Greats. The new guys don't deserve to lace the boots of the Gothenburg team, and as such should get their own song ... nae a reworded version of the original classic. I mean ... "Maguire and Miller, and Seve too..." these three dinnae deserve to be used in the same context as McLeish, Miller and Strachan.
  6. Q's 1. Where do you travel from? 2. How do you get there/back? 3. What do you usually do before/after the game? 4. Preferred location? A's 1. Usually Stoney 2. Train, then walk 3. Drink pints/drink nips 4. ALWAYS the Pitt
  7. Obviously I'd expect UEFA to impose harsh penalties upon this club for allowing flares at their stadium! F'kn!
  8. Gutted that we'd be losing our favourite waterholes of the Bobbin, Broadhill and Pittodrie Bars. Even on non-matchdays if ye have to walk the length of King Street, the Bobbin and Pitt are ideally positioned for a half-way refresher or four. But if they can get the transport sorted for this new place, such as a rail shuttle service (preferably free!!!) then it'd be awesome. Plus it would quite literally be a hop, skip and a jump fae the Station Hotel in Stoney!!!!
  9. Sorry Mr Fraser. The Dons may be forward thinking. But the City Council are more backwards than the characters of The League Of Gentlemen.
  10. Frank McDougall and Duncan Shearer! Imagine that partnership!!!!!!!!!!!! Twenty goals per game .... easy!
  11. That can be arranged. What smilies would you like?
  12. Doesn't Booth still hold the record for most goals scored in the Aberdeen junior leagues?
  13. But Scott Booth's retired!
  14. We just need to prove to everyone that we have good enough cover to play Motherwell and have no hangover for Copenhagen. If our reserves can beat United and Hibs, surely whichever team we field will be capable of beating Motherwell ... especially with this ammo to encourage them!
  15. Trip to Fiorentina would be my favoured one of that lot. We just dinnae hae enough games against Italian sides
  16. Haha. Don't they realise that when Romanov goes, he's not taking the debt with him! He'll just leave Hearts the way he found it ... except with all the crazy-wage players they've accumulated since he arrived. How the hell are they gonna be able to run for more than four or five months? He'll call the Lithiuanians back to Kaunas, and none of the remaining players will hae a clue how to play in the SPL cos they're so used to playing reserve football. This guy says he'll only come back to Hearts when Romanov buggers off. Hate to tell you mate, but you might be better off taking a trip to Livingston to see regular football once Romanov buggers off.

Where's the one of the kid pissing on the Rangers logo? Ain't seen that one since ... well since the ASC website was running.
  18. Awesome! Is this gonna see a regular return to Pittodrie of the spinning-scarfs? On that note, whatever happened to those spinning rattles that used to be a mainstay of football terraces?
  19. And that could be the difference between us getting into Europe next season, and us not. We're starting to pickup points where we shouldn't really be doing so. Picking up points even when we're playing shite is the hallmarks of a team that nick 3rd place. Same happened back in the 2001/02 season. There were some matches then when we just shouldn't have won, and by all means we were extremely lucky to win. But those wins helped put a brighter shine on a season that saw us sprinkle the heap of average games we had with occasional displays of brilliance! Could this be the same this season?
  20. Aye, well done Aberdeen-Mad! Yer a credit tae the Dons fans!!!!
  21. Aye, fuckin right CarolineB. I mean, we played Watershei in the ECWC semi. Only three days earlier we were facing Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Postponing domestic fixtures to aid a bigger league is just a mark of a soft bunch of panzies. Get on with it. I mean, imagine if these guys actually had to work a 40-hour week??? They'd never last past the first coffee break on Monday! Panzies!!!
  22. Haha. You mean like the snow fae six years ago???
  23. Mind you, the same theory applies to Kevin McNaughton. That boy had talent ... and plenty of it. But the game often sailed past him at Aberdeen. Now that he's down in Cardiff and playing a much slower game, he's being given the time and the space to put his talents to good use. And it's showing, because he's pretty much guaranteed a start for Cardiff these days.
  24. Shit. Looks like every third Aberdeen fan got mugged!!! Fuckin crappy Spaniards. My mate got his jeans-pocket cut off with a knife and his wallet was gone when he went to Barca a few years ago. And my ex got her wallet stolen from her "fanny pack" when we were in Barca about seven years ago. I say "fanny pack" because she was American and thats what they called it ... fuckin gave me hysterics every time she spoke of it.
  25. Is it me, or does the loon at the end wi all the blood on his face look like Owen Coyle?
