  1. Cannae see it myself, unless Celtic offer him silly-money. He's a Dandy through and through, and jumped at the chance to come back to us from Lavvy. Be a big loss to us, but as has been said JC would find six Michael Harts for £450k. In this day and age, it's probably a fair valuation of Hart too!
  2. Langfield challenging at a corner?! Hey it's Langfield we've got in goals ... not Nick Colgan! Anyone remember his comical sprint at the end of the 2-0 match a few seasons ago? Tried to score a goal in the last minute of injury time for the Hibees but ended up watching Zerouali disappear into the distance to score into an open net. Thank God we don't have any keepers like that. Just about shat my pants when we were being linked with Colgan a couple of seasons ago!
  3. Still, it's up to him as a professional footballer to NOT react in those sorts of circumstances. It's this sort of reaction that got Gazza into trouble when he did the tin-flute gesture when warming up infront of the Celtic fans at Ibrox. They were baiting him, and he reacted. Lennon is a fuckwit. He's a piss-poor excuse for a footballer who has simply survived at Celtic because of the quality of players around him helping to make him look good. I've lost count of the number of times he has lost possession against quality opposition in European games. He's shite, and he knows he is. But he also knows he's got away with it for so long. If any other player said on a PA system "shut up, you sheep-shaggers", they'd be hauled infront of the SFA and disciplined accordingly. What makes this tatty-munching ginger gimp any different?
  4. I think we have the capability to do some damage to Rangers ... IF Lovell gets his scoring boots on. We MUST attack this game from our most comfortable formation. None of this 1-5-4 stuff that Jimmy keeps inventing. It's clear that our boys are at their best in a traditional 4-4-2. I'd like Miller to be paired up with Lovell for once. It'd be interesting to see what sort of damage these boys can do when they're on-form and on the park at the same time. Both have it in them to be clinical, natural finishers. And the pair of them and Mackie have a fairly good scoring record for us against the Huns .. ie I'm sure they've all scored over the past two seasons against them. But I reckon our best hope exists in Stevie Naesmith. He loves playing for Killie. And I seriously reckon he's not going to be playing in Scotland next season, and reckon he knows it too. One last fond farewell to the Rugby Park fans with a flurry of goals would certainly not be beyond his capability. If he did, he'd make us "vewy pwoud", to quote Sir Alex! My money is on us getting a draw with the huns, but Killie also getting a score-draw with Hearts.
  5. Yeah, saw that article in The Times too! That'd be a crackin signing if JC could pull it off.
  6. Hopefully your next post will be more constructive. Judging by the time of your post you weren't at the game, and therefore you can't comment on how he played today. Not much he could've done for either of the goals today and as was already said, he wasn't at fault for them. Not fair, mate! Some of us actually can't get to the games so decide to watch them on the internet or on Setanta ... which normally has MUCH better views of the game than you get in reality. I'd understand if it was the Dons vs Dunfermline. But almost ALL Celtic games are aired via Setanta!
  7. Okay. So it's as I said. We NEVER EVER do things the easy way. I'd hoped that Hibs would've put up a better fight than they did this weekend. But out of the gruesome twosome I always thought that Celtic would be the more difficult one to get any change out of. We never seem to raise our game against Celtic like we do against Rangers. Especially at the Tattybowl, I didn't expect us to get anything. I HOPED we would, but deep down I didn't think we would. But Rangers at Pittodrie?! That's a whole different matter!!
  8. Anderson's probably the exception to the rule. But let's face it, Mackie's nae exactly catching the eyes of the winning clubs, is he? Neither's Clark. The players that we've signed who've made an impact with us all seem to have one thing in common ... they have come from clubs with a winning-mentallity. Severin came from a very successful Hearts team. Jamie Smith came from Celtic via Den Haag. Nicholson came from arguably the most successful Dunfermline side ever ... and he moved to Dunfermline from the nine-in-a-row Rangers squad. These are the sorts of player that I'd rather we targetted, rather than players who know how to battle it out at the bottom end, but have no notion whatsoever of consistency and don't really know what a winning-mentality is.
  9. If Manamana is what's available in pound stretcher, then perhaps we should shop there more often. If it's a season or two we are expecting out of him, then I'll be happy. We only got a season and a half out of Peter Kjaer, but WOW what an asset he was to us in those couple of seasons! As BobbyBiscuit says, Manamana is a seasoned pro, and a mobile one at that too! He may not be able to keep up with our defence, but he can certainly still do a more than adequate job against most the SPL's strikers ... with probably only the likes of Naesmith being the sort of player who may cause him any sort of pace-problems.
  10. Glad to see we're back on the ball with signing QUALITY players, instead of these second-division journeymen we were signing a few seasons ago. Always liked McNamara. I thought that, in his prime, he was the best Scottish talent behind Jess. Still reckon he's got what it takes to perform well and consistently for us. In my view, he's MORE than adequate a replacement for our outgoing players.
  11. Experienced in leading his team to relegation?! No thanks. We've had stacks of players who were more than qualified in that department. I'm happier that we're looking at winners rather than losers.
  12. No real surprise there, then. Reckon Daal found his level in the First Division. I reckon he'd be a huge hit in the MLS. But in the fast-paced and bruising SPL I reckon he was just too far out of his depth to make a real impact at a club like Aberdeen. Good luck to him, though.
  13. Drewsome, min. I know you've been an Aberdeen man long enough to realise that the Dons NEVER EVER do things the easy way. We get things done! But we NEVER do them without giving the long-suffering Red Army a couple more minor heart-attacks first. If it's escaping relegation, getting into the top six, or getting into Europe ... regardless of what our target is on that particular season, we ALWAYS seem to do the business, but never ever the easy way. We always leave it until the last couple of weeks of the season. Remember when we played Livi on the second last day of the season to decide which one of us would go into Europe? It was widely tipped that Livi would hump us (as they had given us a 6-1 thrashing just a few months previously on our own turf). Well we played a blinder that day (Danish Day, I do believe) and got into Europe in style. And then there was the season we finished last in the league. It took a thirteenth hour decision from the other SPL clubs to save us from relegation by stating that Falkirk's stadium was too shit to be a part of the SPL. And then the first season of the top-six shite, we finished just short of the top six, but won just about every single game from there on in (Steve "Pele" Paterson's first few games) and am pretty sure we ended up with more points than the 4th-placed team. Like I say, the Dons never do things the easy way. But we DO do it.
  14. Eh? That's how fucked up the game is. You can appeal against violent conduct or for racially abusing a ref and get to play games that you shouldn't be playing in. But you can't appeal against celebrating one of the most crucial goals your team has scored all season? Fuckin joke, min!
  15. Oh ye of little hope, min. There is ALWAYS a chance in hell that we can beat either of the Brothers Grim. Both Rangers and Celtic have nothing to prove. If anything, we may face a vastly understrength Old Firm over the next fortnight as Strachan and Smith tinker with new formations and young players. I reckon Hibs could really do us a favour. They have the ability to rip ANY SPL team apart, and have frequently racked up rugby scores this season against some teams. My money is on Hibs helping us out with either a draw or a win against the tarts. And it could well be Stevie Naismiths last game for Killie, so I reckon he'll go out with a bang too. So Hearts won't really have it easy for the remaining two games.
  16. Yeah, but we've got pretty close ties to AFC. It's their property that we're linking to. If we say "nah, get tae" to the club's requests to pull these links, then the club can easily turn their backs on us and say "no more favours!". It's in their interests not to do this. But it's in our interests to keep these links off the site too!
  17. Why clock up the airmiles, mate? Don't you know there are buses running from Gorgie to Ibrox?
  18. Just read in the Teamtalk website (article here) that Hearts have decided to appeal the racist claims relating to Laryea Kingston. As a result, he doesn't have to serve his three-match ban until the beginning of the new season, leaving him free to play in their final (and probably most crucial) matches of the season. Again, this is absolutely farsical! I remember a few seasons ago the huns appealed Fernando Ricksen's "karate kick" on Darren Young, and as such he was free to play in crucial matches that he was due to be suspended for. It's an absolute joke that this is allowed. If I was handed a driving suspension, can I appeal it because I really really need to drive next week? NO! If I appeal, I might not get punished financially (or criminally), but I sure as hell wouldn't get to drive again until my case is heard.
  19. It appears that the site wa configured to slow down access if you were browsing through a network that was behind multiple firewalls. Very rarely are home users behind more than one firewall, but offices are quite often behind both hardware AND software firewalls. As such, a lot of people found browsing the site from work a very slow and laborious task. I've since disabled the bit of coding that was affected by these firewalls, and it appears to have paid dividends.
  20. Yes please, if you could! I believe the issue may now be fixed, but I need as many people who were having speed-related issues to check the site again and report accordingly! Cheers
  21. Whilst it ain't us who are actually hosting the videos, if we link to the YouTube videos then we are seen as a vehicle thru which people can see these images. ANY videos or photos of inside Pittodrie are automatically copyright of AFC, regardless of who has recorded them. When we post links to videos on YouTube, effectively it is against the interests of RedTV so the club come a-knocking on our doors.
  22. Done! I've re-enabled the avatar resizing. How is the speed now? Still good? Or has the site slowed down again?
  23. I'm nae one of the folk who is having issues with my speed on the site. But can anyone who was previously having issues please let me know if there is any improvement now? I've been doing a wee bit of tweaking on the site, and believe I might've stumbled across something that may have been slowing several users down ... especially users who are behind multiple firewalls. If you were previously having speed-related issues, can you please let us know here if the site is a bit faster now ... or indeed if there's no change whatsoever!
  24. Go to any bar in Leith. I've been to a number of Hibee bars in the past, and they GLADLY support Aberdeen when we face the minihuns. Still reckon there's a very tangible relationship between Aberdeen and Hibs. I've not met many Hibees who dislike the Dons ... and I used to work in a Hibee bar!
