I was surprised as hell to see the entire game being played LIVE on ESPN in New Zealand. Fuckin dancer!!!!! First Dons match I've seen live for about two and a half years. I thought Mackie was impressive. He seems to have gained the confidence to do little flicks and backheels that kept beating the Bayern defenders time and time again. Nae his fault that his fellow players kept straying into offside positions. VERY impressed with Aluko and Walker. Aluko especially! ESPN gave him the man-of-the-match hands down. A worrying sign that McLeish was in the stands. I just hope he doesnae recall Aluko early after seeing this performance. Langfield was impressive, and extremely unlucky with the rebound from the penalty. One person I was very very unimpressed with was Severin. He did absolutely FUCKALL! For being the club captain and arguably our best player in his first and second seasons with us, he was virtually anonymous. The first time I even noticed he was on the pitch, the match clock was sitting around 75 minutes. If he can't get motivated for a match against the 7th biggest club in the world ... then we might as well cut our losses and chuck him on the transfer list in the summer.

Whenever I hear about loan signings ... all I can think of is Tony Warner. The most useless goalie we've ever had. I think even Soutar is better than he was!

Archie's responsible for a number of commentary nuggets. "And the Rangers defence are ossified" - who the fuck watching Scotsport knows what ossified means, Archie?? "And here comes the cavalry" - in a 1-1 draw with Rangers, Archie commented on the amazing power and control from our defensive dynamic duo of ... wait for it ... Derek Whyte and John Inglis.

Haha. And I had the same teachers as you min! I know EXACTLY how shit they were. One word ... Monty.

FEEEEEED THE CAT!

Cannae make it for the Bayern game sorry. But I'll see you in Manchester for the final between us and the huns
-
Was glad to see the back of him. Cannae fuckin believe he's being touted for a return! Fuckin waste of space. If he hadn't been a former Don, we'd have absolutely no interest in him whatsoever. It's made even worse by the fact that Esson is one of the players who were a part of the Pittodrie Clique, comprising of the likes of the Youngs, Mackie, McAllister and co. Prance around town like they were some sort of big-time boys ... after getting beaten by Partick Thistle! I was glad to see the back of that wanker. If he signs, we are well and truly going backwards and JC MUST GO! I'd rather have Preece back. At least Preece was professional and fought for the number1 jersey. Esson was happy to sit on the bench for, like, 20 seasons

I could get a 21st Century charity tin whipped around! If you want to donate, send whatever you'd like (say a tenner) onto the PayPal account of "reekie_red@hotmail.com" and every cent will go towards replacing that plaque. Any excess should go to the family

I know I'm close but don't qualify for a cigar. Because the real answer to all of these lies at the very very top. The top needs to be changed. But I do not believe a change at the top would produce any better product on the park with what we've got. A change at the top is required, without a doubt. But JC really has taken us as far as he can go. A new chairman is required. A new board is required. And a new manager is required. Easier said than done, though

... unless yer Charlie Allan, in which case all Dons players get an automatic starting count of 6/10
-
Yeah give him a chance, aye! I mean he's just arrived, fresh in the door. Gie the lad a chance. And that goes for that lad Dempsey too. And Crawford. Wonder how Dunfermline will do against Ra Shellick the day!

I seem to remember that it wasn't too long ago that a consortium of businessmen existed that were determined to oust Milne and Co from the club. From memory, Willie Miller, Jim Cummings and then-CE Dave Cormack were ready to push Milne aside and, presumably had the cash to back up their promises. Now, I presume that Cummings and Cormack are still Dons-daft. There's no questioning whether Miller is or not. Would it be too difficult for these guys to resurrect this consortium? I was excited as hell when I heard about the consortium. Cormack was probably the most forward thinking board member we've had at the club since Richard Donald himself. But Milne got wind of the Consortium and ... well, the old "family reasons" excuse came out of Cormack. Cummings was not as well off as Milne ... but he still had a whack of cash in his back pocket. And Miller ... well I'm not quite sure what Miller would do apart from be the public face of AFC. I'm still not quite sure what Willie Miller does at the club, as the youth system is going backwards, the scouting network is almost non-existent and we're still no further forward in getting decent training facilities for the squad ... other than still playing that old song of hitching a ride from that fictional magic carpet known as the "Community Stadium". For being Director Of Football for the past three years, he's not really steered the footballing side of the business in any positive way. Perhaps he is really only good at being a defender, because his time as AFC Manager and AFC Director of Football haven't really been that successful. Sure, we're still in the UEFA Cup and the Scottish Cup. But who here believes we can get past Celtic or Bayern? And who here believes we can realistically close the gap above us? Motherwell are five points ahead of us with three games in hand. And despite losing Robson, United still don't look too shabby. The only club who have lost ground since the turn of the year is us. We've lost players, we've lost our drive, our manager has lost his motivation and the fans have lost patience. Time for sweeping changes, I believe. Hats of to JC for taking us this far. But I sincerely believe he's now out of his league when it comes to taking Aberdeen to the next level. We need a coach who has experienced management at a level that's above Aberdeen. Instead of having Aberdeen punch above their level, we need a manager who can bring Aberdeen up to his level. We need to start thinking OUTSIDE the current merrygoround of managers. Milne ain't gonna do that. Milne's too busy trying to service the debt that his mistakes made. We need someone who's gonna run the football club as a football club ... not a building firm. Someone who has experiece with different businesses. Dare I say it, a Trump-type figure. And with all but a couple of our first team players signed up on long-term contract, now is the time to sell and make some cash from our misfiring squad and invest the money in decent players who can actually get motivated for a run-of-the-mill match ... not just turn it on for when Europe's big-guns visit town. But something needs to be done at Pittodrie from the top all the way down to the bottom. Pittodrie has gone stale. The chairman is boring. The manager is boring. The players are boring. The fans are bored. Things are very stale at Pittodrie just now, and something needs to be done

Of the four competitions we were still in at the turn of the year (SPL, CIS, Scots Cup and UEFA Cup) this is the one I care about the least. I mean ... who remembers last year's CIS Cup winners? Infact, I cannae really remember who won it since we last won it thirteen years ago! If we're out of ALL competitions by the second week of March, I'll be pissed off. But right now, who really cares about the CIS Cup?
-
Fuckin hate loan signings. If they're shite, we tend to sign them. If they're any good for us we get told by the owner club that the player is a "valuable part of the future of the club" and we cannae sign him ... either that or friggin Preston offer sixteen times the wages that we can.

"Dossick" and "Ace-ick", just like "skill", are words of the Doric school playgrounds circa 1982.
-
Whilst yer bringing up old skool sayings from the early eighties .... dossick! Ace-ick!

Simple answer really. Our performances have gone downhill since ... well, since Copenhagen. But in actual fact, it's since JC and his band of merry men signed their new contracts. Those contracts were signed on the understanding that if everything went pearshaped this season, he and his men would not be held accountable. So, basically, he doesn't have to give a shit about the team. Regardless of where we end up in all competitions, he will be here next season. But I think Wiggy may think otherwise if the fans start deserting the team in their thousands over the next few weeks. Normally the final few matches are the busiest crowd-wise. I think this season will be different. I believe February will see an end to our SPL and UEFA Challenges, and March will see an end to our Scottish Cup campaign. If these all happen, the fans WILL turn!

United and Rangers in the same stadium in the final??? Might as well blow the fucker up and make the SPL a happier ... and cleaner place!

Calderwood poll after last night's shambles
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I ticked the "end of season" option. Unfortunately he has a clause in his contract basically removing the chance of him being fired if everything goes wrong this season. So, basically, he's got nothing to play for this season. There's no reason why he should continue to push his side this season, because he's got a job regardless of the final results come May. Which sucks!!!!! Because ever since he signed his new contract, we've been gash! -
Was it that bad? I mind Andy Goram rubbing his erse at the Dons fans once.

Aberdeen v Hamilton Accies Match Thread

Walker's ineligible to play on Tuesday anyway. He wasn't a Dons player when the original match was supposed to go ahead. This is the very reason Brechin got dumped out of the Scottish Cup. -
How far will we get in each competition?
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
League: 3rd (Murderwell and You Shite Head are gonna freefall in the next two months) CIS Cup: Winners Scottish Cup: Semis UEFA Cup: Last 16 (2-0 at Pittodrie, but we'll lose 3-1 in Munich and go thru on away goals) -
TBH has Lovell ever been in-favour with Jimmy? Let's face it, he's never really been given a decent crack of the whip.

I don't quite get what you mean, mate! Explain
