    I voted 2. A double loan swoop.
  2. This is not as good as the one I made up about Henrik Larsson signing for us. 3/10.
  3. To be fair, his overall record for us was very good - most of us were pretty happy when he joined us as well.
  4. Don't know much about medical matters - hope this isn't too big/risky an operation. At least the matter is being addressed reasonably soon after his stroke in April which I'm sure is a good thing. All the best Eoin.
  5. ...after Levein is named Scotland boss. Can you see this happening?
  6. If there is an AFC mop and brush set then that's the gf's Christmas sorted!
  7. Can't believe that happened five years ago. One of my favourite ever Dons players. I had 'Zerouali 47' printed on the back of my Dons shirt. Loved watching him play - shame he picked up a couple of nasty injuries during his time at Pittodrie which stopped his progress. The free kick against St Mirren, the hat trick v Dundee, walking the ball from the half way line to an empty net Vs Hibs, the cool goal celebrations - all great memories.
  8. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/1507175?UserKey= http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Obiefule Has been posted elsewhere on here, but thought this deserved its own thread. Paul Obiefule (Nigerian international) is in Aberdeen for talks. Sounds like this would be a decent coup if we can get him, hopefully Dundee Utd bosses don't read the EE though!
  9. Well at least the pic prove that this is not a made up story, given that he is actually here for talks. Would be very happy with this signing...
  10. Don't think anyone really cares how you know that, or why you think you know that, to be honest. I can well imagine the two didn't get on, though. Heikkinen was a quiet, modest guy, who probably only went out drinking once in a blue moon. Pele wanted to be pissed before and after every game. I'm sure he would have liked to have been pissed during the games a lot of the time as well... Pele had treated himself as one of the lads for his 15 years of management before arriving at Pittodrie, and he probably didn't get on with those that wouldn't have a laugh and a drink with him. Pretty sad really, even for an alcoholic.
  11. Anyone read it yet? Was interested to read that Paterson wanted to sign Scott McDonald when he was at Southampton, but Gordon Strachan (then Southampton manager) warned Pele aginst it due to his bad attitude. Pele also tried to sign Barry Robson from Inverness but couldn't do the deal, as Utd offered double what we were, and for a longer contract. To be fair to him, he did some good deals like Heikkinen, Michael Hart, Scott Booth (well maybe not so good) and he claims that his predecessor Ebbe Skovdahl was able to offer wages of up to £4,000 a week, while he was only allowed to offer £1,000 a week. Also thought it funny how he described both the Young brothers as a 'spent force', and here is one of them playing the game of his life against the huns just a couple of days ago. Funny old game. My overall impression of him though was that managing at Premier League Level was just a step too far for him, a job which was pretty much impossible anyway given the money and time he was spending at the bookies.
  12. Magnificent performance lads. Rangers resorted to lumping balls into the box, and they couldn't get past our makeshift defence. We were the only side playing good football, and we deserved the three points.
  13. I saw Lee Miller and Mark Kerr walking through Union Square shopping centre on Monday evening. They seemed to be in good spirits. Thought it was important I told you that.
  14. They beat us 4-0 the year before when we had a full strength side out...
  15. A cracking bet tonight is Keita to score anytime for Barcelona v Rubin Kazan - 9/2 at PaddyPower (2/1 at Hills)I don't have an online account with them but I may consider signing up to put a few quid on this, no doubt you will get a free bet as well. He scored a hat trick a couple of games back, and scored 1 in Barca's last game as well I think. Cracking value in my honest and humble opinion, especially as barca will be taking game seriously after losing at home to these 'minnows' in the last round of CL games.
  16. Donald, McVitie and Smith have all impressed me at Peterhead. David Donald maybe could have made it at pittodrie imo - the only thing he lacks is height.
  17. Been watching a lot of Family Guy, and having just got Sky TV, Comedy Central has regularly been on. King of Queens is very funny.
  18. Currently reading 'Loonyology' by Charles Bronson (nutter widely known as 'Britain's most dangerous prisoner') Bit of a weird book. Jumps all over the place as he seems to recall stories from his 34 years in Prison completely at random. Thought he would have more intersting stories than 'beating up narks' and fighting against the system etc etc Thinks himself to be a bit of a comedian, and beleives that he is very intelligent by throwing in random facts throughout. I'm nearly finished and it's got a bit tedious. Guy is obsessed with becoming a celebrity.
  19. We will win this game 1-0. Jerel Ifil will bag the winner.
  20. Good old Yossi Well done to those that went against rangers!
  21. Benayoun 1st scorer for Liverpool tonight v Lyon. 9/1.
  22. I'll be having my usual fiver on our centre backs to score the first goal, given that Mulgrew can surely land a few corners right on their heads. Ifil 80/1 Considine 66/1 Go Jerry go Jerry GO
  23. Suffered triple fracture of his cheekbone in the Dundee game. According to McGhee, could be out for 6-12 weeks' "or even longer". And Tommy Wright is out for (a further) 3 weeks with a thigh strain. According to the EE. FFS.
  24. Back on topic, Tommy picked up another thigh strain in training this week, according to the EE.
