  1. Tempted by the 'Aye but no' option. The results are much the same. We seem largely incapable of beating anyone of any quality higher than ourselves. Not sure of the exact stats but I'm pretty sure our record against the top six is as bad as I've ever seen it. Even when times were tough before we seemed capable of raising our game on occaision - it just seems now we have no higher standard to raise it to and we'll continue to patch together points against similarly beleagured and poor sides. Is the squad any better after two transfer windows? In personnel possibly, but good additions such as Osbourne and Arnason are offset by the likes of Maguire and Aluko leaving. No matter what is said and how badly the latter two managed their departures, they would have improved us this season. At the back and up front we seem to have the same level of journeyman cloggers. What is most frustrating about the squad is that the imbalances we lamented McGhee for persist. No-one can convince me that we cannot sign full-backs better than McArdle or wingers better than Milsom. I don't know if its going to get any better. Brown seems to be convinced that we're playing well and the table shows us in a false position but I don't buy that at all, our fundamental ability to get results has been poor all season. And I'm fucked if I can see any real evidence of that improving soon.
  2. Brundle joining Sky next season according to Sky Sports News.
  3. Definitely, the first game was one of the best cup ties I've seen in a long time. Was hoping for a few all-SPL ties to clear the way for us a bit - and I do appreciate the futility of this wish given that Stranraer/Forfar will probably pump us.
  4. That is awful. Just a series of meaningless platitudes and no attempt made to address the content of the questions. Christ, the SPL is grim sometimes.
  5. Probably. May well be the line they trot out if they make unsuccessful enquiries re having to pay compensation too.
  6. Absolutely. It'll be a disgraceful showing on our part if he goes there for anything less.
  7. Japan are the current holders. http://www.ufwc.co.uk/
  8. Excellent post, pretty much how I read everything too.
  9. Perecisely. Off the record or on the record, the statement you quote above is abundantly untrue. Its all a bit sad really.
  10. Culter were unlucky against Spartans. Dubious penalty and sending off for the first, and more than a match for them in in the second half even with ten men.
  11. In/oot - Oot Prematcher - Aberdeen Match - Culter v Spartans Postmatcher - Pub in Culter Prediction - 2-1 Tims Edit: Just realised the game's on Sunday. This is what I'll be doing the day before then.
  12. In/Oot: Oot Pre Match: Liverpool v Man U Match: Soccer Saturday Post Match: Dunno Crowd: 7427 Prediction: 0-0
  13. Unfortunately, that give undue credit to the mixture of apathy and frustration that followed the East Fife defeat. He's probably as unconcerned now as he was then.
  14. In or Oot - Oot Pre-Match - Pub Match - Partick Thistle v Greenock Morton Post Match - Pub Prediction - 2-0 Pars Crowd - 5629
  15. I agree that trophies are the be all and end all, however, personally I'm in the catgory of supporters who have seen no better. My first Dons game was in the Aitken era - 'a couple of nice trips' is the best thing I've got as a Dons fan. Sure I'd swap it for a trophy. I just hope I see us win one.
  16. Aye, they don't seem quite as fluent as they were last season yet, not helped by the loss of Sahin. Hopefully they turn in a good showing tonight though as they're potentially a great addition to this year's competition.
  17. Looking forward to watching this one. If BVB play to their best Arsenal will really struggle.

  19. Not a huge surprise. Perhaps if the huns are struggling they should increase our allocation...
  20. In/oot: Oot Prematch: Home Match: Radio Post match: Home Predition: 3-0 them
  21. In/oot: In Prematcher: Pub Match: South postmatcher: Home Prediction: 2-1 the Dons
  22. Mawene's reading of the game and heading ability isn't a problem. His lack of speed is; balls over the top which don't cary through to the keeper are a constant issue for us without any decent pace at centre-half. Otherwise we looked fine yesterday. Magennis was definitely an upgrade on Mackie, while Osbourne and Arnason were very good in the middle. Kari in particular looks a thouroughly decent footballer.
