It's not just the monarchy though - its England not being a secular state(joining the likes of Afganistan, Jordan, Iran, Saudia Arabia and Somailia), all the ponce of the houses of parliament that make it seem so inaccessible for the ordinary person, an unelected house of lords and the whole harping back to the empire and this idea that being "British" gives one a sort of sense of morality and decency that other countries don't have(you can say the idea of national identity is in every country but it seems so arrogant and belittling to other countries this idea of "Britishness").
And also I'd like to think if Scotland came independent when the current queen died we'd have a referendum to get out of this malarkey. We should all at least be born equal.
