  1. Motherwell draw with champions elect, Hearts. From my listening to it, very much should have been a Motherwell win.
  2. The Devinyls - I Touch Myself
  3. I was thinking Nick Blackman, but of course, it was Curtis Main. We can speak about getting players in for a specific position, the difficulty is finding the right player. Even with a decent budget, for our level, we are still shopping in the reduced to clear section in the transfer market, with the added handicap of every player needing to be a project player. Hopefully Lutz starts to earn his corn quickly in his new role, but our issue is that so many clubs are doing the same thing, making it even harder to find a gem in amongst the shyte. Rico doesn't agree, but I'd rather we took back the lad at Arbroath and give him a chance, but only if he will get meaningful game time. He'd may as well stick with Arbroath if we only want to dick him around, like the other you g lads we bought in the summer.
  4. I think if he keeps Motherwell playing the way they are and in the upper reaches of the league, I suspect he will have a few suitors come the summer. It's a big if though, as still a lot of games to play and yet to go through the obligatory stick spell.
  5. I don't think Gyfami is fit, so surprised if he starts, but who knows. Would put Nisbet alongside Lazetic and have Karlsson behind them and get him told to cut out the fancy shyte, when a simple pass would suffice. Karlsson has the skills to bring a bit of magic to a game, but needs to concentrate of the basics to help his team mates more. Livi might be bottom, but Martindale always has his teams organised and they work hard, playing until the final whistle. The noise around us will intensify if we get beat in this one, which I don't think we will.
  6. P&J reporting that Yengi likely to be away in January and apparently some interest in him. Would be no real surprise with that one. Hopefully Ambrose will be away too and get his career back on track. Can't be good being a footballer and not getting to play, regardless of what any of us think of them
  7. Should have said in my earlier post, no they were taken over in the 90s and become the Aberdeen Buttery Company, who then went bust about 12 years or so ago. I think out of the bakeries that were on the go when I was serving my time, only Thains and Ross of Chapel Street are still on the go. We have lost the following bakeries. Copie Baker Murdochs Lows Gordon Bakery (Dee Street) Aitkens Sunnybank Strathdees Claremont Bakery Duncans (Thains took them over in the early 90s) AB Hutchison
  8. That is a good question. I wasn't at the game last night, but by all accounts were decent in the first half and then fell away in the second half, going by what I have read here and elsewhere. It was the same against Hearts and numerous other games this season, that I have been at. One good or decent half, and then we disappear. Substitutions kill any sort of momentum we may have, or usually just makes us look worse. Has Jimmy pissed off a lot of our players and the whole squad is suffering. Does he lack man management skills. I am sure player and squad limitation issues are to blame for some of it, but the manager is rightly under scrutiny from a lot of fans and has to take his share of the blame. It's not just as though it has been this season, we have been consistently poor for just over a year now.
  9. Who? Can't remember him
  10. I served my time with Kennedys in the late 80s early 90s. The van mannie would have been Jim Baxter, nae the deid hun, although Jim himself is long gone. He took nae shyte in the bakery either. I was always up to shyte, being a daft young loon with too much energy and I think I might have put salt in his coffee instead of sugar, one of the many daft things I did to wind up the older staff. I got plenty of shyte done to me though. He said, you're a young loon, so you get a warning, try it again and you get a crack on the jaw. The others told me to take heed, as he was the type to hit you first and ask the questions later. Took nae shyte.
  11. A great effort min. I doff my cap to folk like you making treks up to watch us. Some do it for every home game. Just a pity the team don't give the effort a lot of our fans do.
  12. Just had a look online at this Truffelos place and they do a load of Gluten free stuff. Got diagnosed with a gluten intolerance at the age of 47, so good to see that. I do have a sneaky something with gluten from time, usually a macaroni pie from the chipper, so may try a roll from them if they have any and they are veggie. They appear to sell quite quick when they have them.
  13. It depends on how involved he is in our recruitment. If he has any say in identifying who we are bringing in, then questions have to be asked, as we are bringing in players clearly not suitable for our game and in a few cases just not good enough at all. If he is given these players, with limited input from him and in turn doesn't rate them, then possibly we stick with him. We can only hope that Lutz can help with sorting out recruitment and get the right players in to fit into Jimmy's preferred style. You look at what the boy at Motherwell has done in a short time, with nothing like the resources Jimmy has, and seems to work fairly well with what he has available. Not saying Motherwell are the best thing since sliced bread, but they do look a team with an identity and have been fairly consistent in their set up and approach to games. He even has Paul McGinn now resembling a passable footballer. I supposed I could have summed it up by saying, I'm f*cked if I ken.
  14. Sounds like I didn't miss much then. I fell asleep just after nine, it was a long day, and it was 1-0 at half time and a Nisbet goal too. Woke up to see it was 1-1 and another ropey second half performance. Agree on Ricos thoughts on Karlsson. Really hoped big things from him, but maybe we're seeing why it hasn't happened for him in Italy. Undoubtedly got talent, but not a team player in my opinion. I remember him having a pop at Malloy a few weeks ago, against Motherwell and it was Karlsson that made the bad passback to him, which left Malloy no choice than to hoof it away and put it back to Motherwell. Be nice if somebody had a quiet word with him or even gave him a slap in training. No detached retina's though. A player like Jensen, can be a frustrating watch, but gets a lot of stick. He does stick to his job and grafts away on the pitch. I posted earlier that Europe wasn't great for us this season and I stick by that. Hopefully we bounce back at Livi.
  15. Depeche Mode - Somebody
  16. Aye, 2026 is going to be a grim year. Yesterdays budget will likely see a huge amount of jobs lost in the coming months. A lot of renewable companies are in England and the central belt in Scotland, as Aberdeen took their eye off the ball and didn't diversify quick enough. Oil was always going to end, but didn't think it would be so quick and sudden. it will become very apparent, very quickly, that this is going to be a disaster for Aberdeen, but the UK will still be importing oil & gas from other countries for years to come. A bit like what we did with coal back in the 80s. I'm so glad I steered my sons away from the industry, althought it will be more than just oil workers that will suffer. GB Energy to save the day.
  17. Stuck at work and not going to make the game. £29 wasted on a ticket. I won't even be able to get it to anyone before kick off.
  18. We are ill equipped with the squad we have to compete in the league and Europe. I'd go as far to say it's ill equipped to compete in the league. For me the league is always of way higher importance. It is our bread and butter. Only a an opinion though and if you disagree, then fine.
  19. The point I am getting at, is that when the hun are on the recieving end of a bad call, or a perceived bad call, it gets very, very stupid in our press, as though it is a conspiracy against them. Every team suffers through poor ref/var decisions, but I would say on the whole, the hun get more favourable decisions than bad ones over a season.
  20. Aye, I expect some bad press to come the way of their chairman. We're not allowed to call it out, but when they feel hard done by, the story runs in the press for weeks.
  21. Britney Spears - Oops, I did it Again
  22. Has anyone gained from the budget? I work in oil and was hoping for a bit of good news, but sadly nothing. I reckon I'll be out of a job soon. Can see Aberdeen really suffering in the coming years. I don't remember seeing the industry this quiet in my years working in it and have seen a few slumps.
  23. Bring a whole to meaning to playing for the stiffs.
  24. Well, if Willem van der Ark, still played for us and scored the winner against them tomorrow. The headline could have been 'Noah Sunk by Arc'. I'll get my coat.
  25. The Livingston chairman has said that the SFA has admitted there was a mistake in their game with the hun, that saw them denied a penalty. That's cleared that up then and surely it won't happen again....
