  1. I have a really bad sweet tooth. So bad that abstain from sugary stuff for the most part. My latest period of abstention ends this coming Sunday and a case of lock up you sweets and chocolate bars if I'm around. Red Bounty and Topics are my two biggest misses. Both sneakily discontinued by Mars UK a puckle of years back. Bastards!
  2. Sold 1500 tickets for this game and a few others in amongst the home support. A fair effort.
  3. Aye, Aitkens the baker sold us out Sports Mixture, along we a bug o cuttins. Which were the ends of the custard slices, caramel shortcakes and any other cake that was cut into perfect squares, leaving the cuttings for us ravenous Torry urchins. Caramel shortcake, being the holy grail. The outcry in this day and age if we asked for 10p of Sports mixtures and nae blacks. My eldest Sister was weird, she liked the black ones. One day she ate a big bag of black ones and gave herself a dose of the shits. They changed the recipe of Sports mixtures and they apparently don't taste like they used toi.
  4. I have never looked forward to playing them in our own patch let alone Parkhead and as for them being there for the taking... The scars of watching us over the years, means I can never be that confident going into a game against anyone. We were honking first half yesterday, as bad a 45 minutes as I have ever seen from an Aberdeen team and I've seen plenty. Prague is a free hit. My appetite for the game is zero, but Thelin has to have us far better prepared for Sunday than he did first half yesterday. The green filth don't often lose many games on the bounce and I really don't want us being the team that it starts to click for them.
  5. Only had the Mars bar and Marathon deep fried, never fancied a deep fried Bounty.
  6. All that healthy coconut on the west coast, nae chance.
  7. Really? You know what a Bounty is, surely? Well the red wrapper was the dark chocolate version. The said back in 2021, the were stopping production, due to the global shortage of coconut and then sneakily put out a press release, 18 months later, saying they had been discontinued. They did the same with Topics. Folk would rather eat American peanut butter bars now. I didn't even get the chance to stockpile any.
  8. Out of favour A shame like, but must be something behind the scenes happened for both him and Palsavera ti have been bombed out like they have.
  9. Dante wasn't a happy bunny when he was subbed. Didn't acknowledge any team mates on his way to the dugout. On Jensen, he looked a great prospect when he first arrived, but for the money we paid, we really should expect better. Hard working lad, but either just not happening for him or we aren't using him correctly. Didn't deserved to be cheered when it was announced Shinnie replaced him. Shitbag behaviour.
  10. Please tell me McGregor was in tears at the end, or is he getting more practice at it. The great unwashed must be on the verge of a riot. So, so pleasing.
  11. He is showing he is a right dirty little bastard when he wants to be. Very pleasing. I though he was more of a 'baller' to use the modern parlance, but fairly gets stuck in and is adapting to the darker side of the Scottish game.
  12. Just back. Stank out Pittodrie first half. Really, really poor. Played like we had lego bricks on their feet, filled with concrete. All players deserved subbed, but I did think Jensen was the worst of a bad job lot. Cometh the second half, cometh our Captain. Too slow, legs have gone, heard it all a million times now, but no other first team players offers what he does. The difference with that team in the second half was pleasing. The ponderous display of the first half gone and the real Aberdeen stepped up and won the points. I can't comment on the penalty call, as it was a busy box, but some you win. Should have been level before our equaliser and really though it wasn't to be our day. Lovely goal from Bilalovic, after great work by the lazy, useless Nisbet. He was getting some amount of abuse from guys beside me. Hope we see more of Bilalovic. Looks far more comfortable on the ball that Milanovic has done to date. 10 points from 12, not bad going. Just hope to fuck Jimmy plays a reserve team on Thursday and has us far better prepared for Parkhead next weekend and carry on our good league form.
  13. Never heard of the film, but respect the choice of a Star Bar. A lovely piece of confectionery and been banging the drum of old skool chocolate bars for the past few years. I'm still reeling about the demise of Red Bounties and Topics, so doing my best to keep demand of old skool bars alive. Apologies for hijacking the thread and taking it off topic!
  14. I was watching an old top of the pops on Friday night and said the same thing to my Wife, when he appeared. Likes a lot of females, she likes him.
  15. League Cup final today. Be nice if we could see more McGregors tears again this afternoon. Could get messy for for the tims and their new manager, if they lose today. Being it on.
  16. Oooh, an afternoon tea! Hark at you being all posh, with your afternoon tea... Enjoy! I have one next Sunday and love an afternoon tea.
  17. Match day and thankfully the wind has calmed down. I went out for my walk yesterday afternoon and was nearly blown over twice. Confident for the points this afternoon, but not overly so. I've been scarred enough over the years, never to be overly confident. The lad Watson being out for them, will hopefully help us, but with dracula not in their dugout, they might fancy it more. After yesterdays results, a win would help consolidate our top six position nicely and also would see us with 10 points, from our previous four games, which I would have snatched your hand off for before hand. COYR
  18. I think Clarkson has a decent enough value, not so sure about Palaversa. Don't expect to get too much for either, but far less for Palaversa, as if being honest hasn't exactly been a consistent performer in his time with us. His penalty in the cup final will ensure his status with us though, so wouldn't have been all bad, whatever happens with him. The way we play, our midfield is key. A lot of graft expected from them and that's why I think it would have been good to have seen Palaversa and Clarkson more in recent weeks, just to keep that area of the park fresh, but the players currently involved have stepped up and played well. I am hopeful if seeing more roation, if not today, then surely on Thursday night, which is meaningless, bit fit aboot the money for a win or a dra? Three points today and three points at the tattiedome, next weekend, would be my own preference.
  19. He was, but been back training a good few weeks now A few rumours of his attitude stinking the place out, but only rumours. Our midfield is relatively weak, so to not use him or Clarkson much for rotation purposes at the very least, is quite damning. Have to trust the manager on these calls.
  20. I get the feeling I would get a start over Clarkson at the moment. That's how far out of the picture he appears. Think he and Palaversa are both on the way out of the club, for whatever reason.
  21. 22 years ago, Pele Paterson was in the hot seat. Did it scar you that much? You never get the urge to make the pilgrimage up to our Mecca of the north? (Nae bingo jokes please). I'm assuming you are still in Englandshire and not further afield. The reason I have never left Aberdeen, to live further afield, is our bloody club. I was asked once to move abroad and that was my reason for not going. A 100% genuine answer. I wouldn't even class myself as that big a dandy and much more committed supporters than me, but I couldn't live without my regular fix. Would be easier coming off crack. As long as the heart is in the right place, then that is what counts.
  22. I think most of us thought he had got it right with the appointment of the Doc. This fitba thing isn't as easy as folk would like to think it is. McGregor knows as much about football manager appointments as the rest of us. Maybe having the Doc, Callum Davidson and John Robertson together as a management team, is a case of too many chiefs.
  23. It does highlight how easily our council can be duped. So I'm not wanting public money involved as I see nothing but risk for an already cash strapped council. I've waffled enough about it now, and made my position clear, so this is my last post on the thread.
  24. Just seen the County score. Really though Doc, would do a job for them. Can't see McGregor sticking by him after that. It just hasn't happened for him in Dingwall.
  25. I saw that film when it came out and yes it was an amazing film. Very sad in places and very funny in others. The bit when he is getting his MBE and shouted out Fuck the Queen, was brilliant. I also hope that part was true. Other than that I don't watch too many films, never been much of a film buff.
