  1. Considine might have scored two goals, but him and McNamara were absolutely shocking today. Maybury wasn't much better, and Soapy had a nightmare - awful kicking and should have punched the ball that led to their opening goal.
  2. Just back from the game. Utterly devastated. Really can't believe it. Calderwood got it wrong playing McNamara who was atrocious, but apart from that he started with a team that was more than capable of winning, but I'm not sure any one of them performed better than shite. Our defence and Soapy were the cause of us getting beat in my opinion. It was schoolboy football from us at the back, but the midfield did very little all day as well, and Severin was particularly poor. What a complete disaster. Lots of scarves thrown on the pitch. Lee Miller got a terrible reception at the end when he came over to applaud the support. I would ship the whole lot of the players and coaching staff the way I'm feeling just now. Season over.
  3. Are they still banning folk over there?
  4. I've got an AFC cloth. In fact, I was touching it just now.

  6. My first visit to Hampden. May 19th 1984. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Cup_1983-84#Final Aberdeen 2 Celtic 1 (AET) I was only 10 but I remember a cracking atmosphere, and it being absolutely jam-packed. Been to most finals since.
  7. Do you remember the weather that night? Thunderbolts and lightning. Very, very frightening.
  8. Is this shite still being broadcast? When you've got Sportcene, BBC website and Setanta highlights, who watches Scotsport?
  9. FFS, when are ever getting some news on this two? Also, do we just continue to play them every week while they refuse to sign?
  10. Time to create the "Warnings/Bannings" section of DonsTalk.
  11. Might be worth going into the club shop, as I suspect there is more (although not much) in the club shop than there is in the online shop.
  12. I believe that's 20 home games and 18 away this season in the league!
  13. Fixtures are up: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/fixtures/default.stm
  14. Fair play to Maguire for getting his two goals, his 2nd was a very tight angle. At the time I thought Aluko had taken the ball out of play but I've just seen it on TV and it was right on the line. Quite an entertaining game, both teams going for it. Falkirk started very well but the opening goal settled us down. I thought we just deserved to win, especially considering all the time wasting Falkirk were doing which came back to haunt them big style!
  15. Home - Hibs, Dundee Utd, Rangers Away - Celtic, Motherwell Setanta just confirmed. Didn't catch the exact dates but its Celtic, Hibs, Dundee Utd, Motherwell, Rangers in that order. We are not on any of the live games.

They'll finally be able to prise it from him. He was a class actor, but made to look a bit of a fool in Bowling for Columbine.

  19. Just finished reading "Touching from a distance" by Deborah Curtis. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Touching-Distance-Deborah-Curtis/dp/0571239560/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207210653&sr=8-1 What a sad, depressing story but very well written and thoroughly engrossing. It seemed a very honest account of her life with Ian Curtis and it didn't come across as bitchy or that she had any bridges to burn. I knew Ian had epilepsy but didn't realise it was so bad, at one point he was having up to 4 attacks per night. She was basically looking after him and their child single handedly until he went and had his affair. Obviously the book is one side of the story but Deborah did not have a good time of it and its easy to feel a lot of sympathy for her. Ian wasn't painted in a particularly good light but perhaps this was the real Ian. The book also includes a complete gig history (Joy Division played Aberdeen!) and all the lyrics. Got the book free with the Control DVD!
