  1. Its just been pointed out that the back 5 on Saturday was the very same back 5 that did so well against Celtic in the replay.
  2. However unlikely it may sound, we can still mathematically get 3rd place. Its probably not going to happen, but the team should go for it in the next two games. If we don't win both, then bin Miller and Nicholson if they haven't signed, and play some youngsters.
  3. I would play him but strip him of the captaincy. He appeared to be getting his form back until Saturday - excellent in both Celtic games. None of these players featured on Saturday, but yeah they probably shouldn't be near Pittodrie. But would Byrne have been any worse than McNamara on Saturday? At least he would have attempted to put a challenge in. That's definitely been the cause of most of the problems this season (particularly in the league) but, McNamara apart, the rest of the back 5 have been pretty much the same for a while now apart from when Zander was injured after the Celtic replay.
  4. What is exactly is wrong though? I dare say you'd get lots of different answers from the 14000 fans. Most of Saturday seemed to be down to piss poor defending and the players bottling it, along with Calderwood starting with McNamara and not taking him off at half-time.
  5. Yep. He had a poor game on Saturday along with the whole back 5. Cunts.
  6. At the start of the season if you were promised last 32 of the UEFA cup, 2 semi finals, and top six, then I would have taken it. The problem is that the two semi finals have been by far the two worse moments of the season. So near but yet so far it seems. To say we have nothing to show for Calderwood's 4 years is nonsense. Its been far better than previous regimes, we just wish it could have been a bit better! An amazing season of incredible highs and tragic lows.
  7. If we don't win the next two fixtures (and thereby rule out our slim chances of 3rd place) then I would start by dropping Miller and Nicholson if they are not willing to sign contracts. If they are definitely going to be off, then play players who will be here next season and/or blood some youngsters. Calderwood is going nowhere so we need to start planning for next season. Youth team are in the semi of the youth cup (our third cup semi of the season will no doubt end in failure though), so surely we have somebody who can step up? A change of captaincy might be a good idea also. Give Zander the opportunity to captain the team for a few games.
  8. Scotland on Sunday suggesting we're interested in signing him.
  9. Aye but yesterday we had 11 players on the pitch in a 4-4-2, in pretty much positions they should all be comfortable with and they fucked up, mainly in defence. McNamara clearly shouldn't have played, but the rest of the back 5 were awful too. Our players have no bottle.
  10. Considine might have scored two goals, but him and McNamara were absolutely shocking today. Maybury wasn't much better, and Soapy had a nightmare - awful kicking and should have punched the ball that led to their opening goal.
  11. Just back from the game. Utterly devastated. Really can't believe it. Calderwood got it wrong playing McNamara who was atrocious, but apart from that he started with a team that was more than capable of winning, but I'm not sure any one of them performed better than shite. Our defence and Soapy were the cause of us getting beat in my opinion. It was schoolboy football from us at the back, but the midfield did very little all day as well, and Severin was particularly poor. What a complete disaster. Lots of scarves thrown on the pitch. Lee Miller got a terrible reception at the end when he came over to applaud the support. I would ship the whole lot of the players and coaching staff the way I'm feeling just now. Season over.
  12. Are they still banning folk over there?
  13. I've got an AFC cloth. In fact, I was touching it just now.

  15. My first visit to Hampden. May 19th 1984. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Cup_1983-84#Final Aberdeen 2 Celtic 1 (AET) I was only 10 but I remember a cracking atmosphere, and it being absolutely jam-packed. Been to most finals since.
  16. Do you remember the weather that night? Thunderbolts and lightning. Very, very frightening.
  17. Is this shite still being broadcast? When you've got Sportcene, BBC website and Setanta highlights, who watches Scotsport?
  18. FFS, when are ever getting some news on this two? Also, do we just continue to play them every week while they refuse to sign?
