  9. https://www.afc.co.uk/2026/01/29/nigerian-midfielder-completes-move-to-dons/ Afeez Aremu has today joined Aberdeen on a permanent transfer from German side 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The 26-year-old joins the Dons on a deal until 2028, subject to visa formalities and international clearance. The Nigerian international becomes the club’s fifth signing of the January window, following the arrivals of Lyall Cameron, Liam Morrison, Toyosi Olusanya, and Per Kristian Bråtveit. The defensive midfielder, known for his physical presence, was a target Dons Sporting Director Lutz Pfannenstiel was keen to secure in the January transfer window. “Afeez is going to bring a real physical edge to the squad, something which I think we have been looking for”, said Pfannenstiel. “He’s strong, robust and comes with good experience in a competitive environment in Germany. “He also is tactically aware so combined with all his athletic attributes we believe he can adapt well to the intensity of the Scottish game and make a real impact.” Having arrived in Aberdeen to complete his move, Afeez is ready to embrace a new opportunity in Scotland. He said: “I’m excited to be here. I’ve been made to feel really welcome, and I can’t wait to get started. “I like new challenges and I think Aberdeen offers that. For me, I am growing and taking the next step in my career so it’s a huge move. “I’m an aggressive player but I have other attributes to my game. “There is a lot to play for this season. There is a chance to move forward, and I want to strengthen the team to help them achieve good things. “I’m ready to give everything every time I put the shirt on and look forward to playing in front of the fans.” RedTV subscribers can watch an exclusive interview with Afeez now.

  12. Even allowing for the 25% sell on fee due by them to Millwall that is a fantastic bit of business by Hibs if it goes through. Between us with the now Hun bastard, Motherwell with Lennon and this, it is good to see non arse cheek clubs starting to get half decent fees for players

Are we allowed six in total, meaning scope for one more this window Dons 'in talks' over midfielder Aremu Aberdeen are reportedly in talks to sign Kaiserslautern's Nigerian midfielder Afeez Aremu. Dons sporting director Lutz pfannenstiel has a wealth of contacts in Germany and, while they still don't have a permanent boss, Aberdeen are scouting for targets. Sky Sports say the discussions are for a possible loan deal until the end of the season for the 26-year-old whose contract is up at the end of the season. He has been capped once for the Super Eagles.

  21. Scott Burns reporting that we are set to receive £250k plus potential additional ons for Polvara. Given his out of contract at season end position that is a decent enough bit of business for us. Wonder if the fee received will go on Stanway
