  1. Don't have any axe to grind against any of those leaving and wish them every success** in their future career. ** McGrath less so, given he is going to a rival, albeit it is understandable why he has done this.
  2. Following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, we can now provide a summer squad update. We are saying goodbye to first-team players Jack MacKenzie, Ross Doohan, Tom Ritchie, and of course, Jamie McGrath who confirmed back in February that he was leaving to join Hibernian. A local loon, Jack was a graduate of the AFC Youth Academy and after a brief loan spell at Station Park with Forfar Athletic, made his first-team debut against Dundee United in March 2021. Across the next four years, he was a regular in Dons’ squads, churning out a total of 123 games, scoring on three occasions, including a memorable strike at Ibrox in a 3-1 win in 2023-24. Jack’s early season form in 2024-25 earned him a call-up to the full Scotland squad for the games against Croatia and Portugal. Jack signed off his Dons career by lifting the Scottish Cup at Hampden on Saturday and collecting a medal as a fitting memory of his Dons career. Ross Doohan joined the club in the summer of 2023, initially as an understudy to Kelle Roos, then latterly Dimitar Mitov. The former Celtic, Ayr United and Tranmere Rovers stopper was used sparingly in his first season, turning out against Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish Cup before an appearance against Livingston in the season finale at Pittodrie last May. However, he would play a much more active role in year two, admirably covering for the injured Mitov, featuring in 18 of the Dons’ 50 matches, and never letting anyone down. Number three goalkeeper Tom Ritchie will also depart for the final time, having not made an appearance in the Dons first-team. However, he has enjoyed numerous fruitful loans at the likes of Huntly, Queen of the South, Peterhead, Buckie Thistle and Bonnyrigg that will be extremely beneficial in his future career. Lastly, after two seasons in red, Jamie McGrath has left for the final time. The 13-times capped Republic of Ireland International joined on a free from Wigan Athletic and has enjoyed a fruitful time in the North-east, playing 81 games, scoring 16 times and laying on eight assists. The Dons were keen to retain the midfielder, but a lucrative and lengthy offer in the capital has tempted him south. Also returning to their parent clubs at the end of their loan spells, Kevin Nisbet (Millwall), Oday Dabbagh (Charleroi), Jeppe Okkels (Preston NE), Alfie Dorrington (Tottenham Hotspur) will depart. Also moving on are some members of our development squad. Youngsters Blair McKenzie, Evan Towler, Victor Enem, Fraser Mackie will depart Pittodrie on conclusion of their contracts next month. Dons boss Jimmy Thelin said: “We would like to thank each and every player leaving the club for their effort and contributions whilst with Aberdeen and wish them all every success in their future careers. “Some of these boys have been here for a long, long time and departing a club is always emotional. But they can look back with pride and I am so pleased many of them are leaving with a winner’s medal from last weekend.” THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS WILL LEAVE WITH THEIR CONTRACT EXPIRING: Jack MacKenzie Ross Doohan Tom Ritchie Jamie McGrath Blair McKenzie Evan Towler Victor Enem Fraser Mackie THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS’ LOAN PERIODS ARE COMING TO AN END: Kevin Nisbet Oday Dabbagh Jeppe Okkels Alfie Dorrington
  3. Aye, probably the chance to get him cheap given he was at another of Bloom's clubs
  4. Class from Dorrington. Welcome back anytime.
  5. Kabangu signs three year contract at Hearts as Jambos exercise the purchase option included in his loan agreement. Hope they've paid a right few quid for him.
  6. Just been sent this. Even for a Tim this is a whole other level of entitlement
  7. Neale James Cooper Seven years ago today. Taken far far too young. Bet he had tears in his eyes watching down on Saturday
  8. Despite being a Kiwi
  9. Fuck me, what's Scottish football coming to when you can't attend a Ross County V Livi match without encountering weapon wielding "fans" brawling in the street outside the ground
  10. Maybe one of the top division clubs seeking a new manager might fancy approaching him. Do you think he could do a job at Ibrox
  11. Much as it pains me in this instance, I can't really disagree with that summary Rico. Having said that can't say the prospect of visiting the Tony Macaroni Bowl again particularly appeals to me
  12. Scott Burns saying all our loan signings are returning to their parent clubs. Deal for Nisbet unlikely owing to costs involved Ronan Hale anyone now that County confirmed as being relegated
  13. Cove goalkeeper Nicholas Suman signed under freedom of contract. Can't help but think we must be signing a.n.other keeper as well. Don't know anything about Suman is he coming in a number two choice or are we signing another keeper
  14. Second summer signing incoming
  15. Well I'll soon see if my mate is a man of his word or if he caves in and renews his season ticket
  16. So where does everyone fancy heading. I've been to a fair few places with Aberdeen but the twice I can remember us drawing Italians I haven't been at the away games. Juve in the early seventies even I was too young Torino in the early nineties, had a young family to keep a roof over their heads and to feed I know, a shocking lack of priorities on my behalf
  17. Rico is available although might not be fit for a full ninety minutes any longer
  18. Fair play to the BBC that was a quality listen that not even Paddy Bonner could ruin (all joking aside in fairness I heard him saying today was all about Aberdeen) Like Rico, haven't commented too much on Saturday's events and agree absolutely no failures in our team, they all played their part. In our stands the support were amazing and never stopped the entire 120+ minutes of play. I as most of you will be aware have been fortunate to witness all bar one of our eight Scottish Cup victories and I can assure you there has never been one quite like that. Special for me after all these years to have my 30 year old son by my side, both of us like so many others in a flood of tears. Lastly on a personal note I got married thirteen days after the 1990 and I had said to the wife, that if we lost on Saturday her time was up and she would be getting divorce papers served as she was patently a jinx Happy to say, thirty five years of hurt gone and marriage saved
  19. Christ almighty posting another link to BBC Scotland Haven't listened yet but away to do so now https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0ld9r64?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
  20. That was quick, if true P.S Good luck lad, nae going to chuck any seats shit your way over this. Jack set to swap Aberdeen for Plymouth Jack MacKenzie is set for a move to Plymouth Argyle. Sky Sports report that the Aberdeen left-back has agreed a three-year deal with the English side. His contract is up this summer and he looks set to sign off at Pittodrie as a Scottish Cup winner as he heads down south for the next chapter of his career. Other EFL clubs were said to be keen but it looks like Plymouth have won the signing race.
  21. Confirmation of MacKenzie signing for Plymouth Argyle expected today ? Can't help but think if he goes, he could have done just a little bit better than that, however i can think of a few players that have played for both clubs this century, Chris Clark, Russell Anderson, Sam Cosgrove, Steven McLean and the one most would instantly forget, Jim Paterson,
  22. Aye saw that quote from Dorrington, but similar to you I'm thinking it is unlikely to happen. Whilst it would be good for the lad gaining exposure to European football, the negative for us, despite him looking a pretty handy player, is the potential impact upon Jack Milne's future development. The club having awarded him with a four year contract obviously have high hopes for him. Can't see us losing Tobers anytime soon given the alleged level of fee we supposedly paid for him. I would imagine Spurs would want to take Dorrington back for pre season and get a look at him now, meaning any return loan is likely to be after our season has started. On the subject of Jack Milne, I don't wish to build him up too much, but every time I've seen the lad, I've been impressed. Given his age now, he really needs to be nailing down a starting berth next season.
