  1. It is absolutely scandalous FC Vaduz of Lichtenstein and FC Ballkani from Kosovo, Latvian outfit Skola Riga, Armenian army Pyunik, "Moldovan Men" Sheriff Tiraspol are all making European Group Stage football and us more than anybody have failed to do so on so many occasions. Scottish clubs outside of Old Firm duo just don't have the right mentality for Europe whatsoever. Heart of Midlothian should feel lucky Rangers have performed so well last four years on continent and Russia teams were banned from taking part because of Putin invading Ukraine or else wouldn't have got their consolation prize for failure.
  2. Just me or could Kelle Roos have tried a bit harder to get back up on his feet and stop Kevin Van Veen's headed winner? He kind of just stood still and watched the Motherwell forward roll the ball in!! I can't believe how angry his lack of fighting urgency made me feel.
  3. I was sat watching this again just now. Can somebody tell me if they can see the penalty at home to Rangers in the 1-1 draw when Ryan Kent got sent off. I don't think they've included it and if they have can somebody tell me at what point!
  4. Did I miss a substitution because one thought we'd only made four when Callum Roberts went off injured so a fifth replacement was allowed right????
  5. Just wanted to share this video post which had me in tears yesterday. Earlier in week I saw a guy on Twitter called Billy Moore asking to send a lad with Autism named Joe (think Billy is his brother) some cards and letters to cheer Joe up as he'd not been feeling great overall. Seeing as Joe is a big Everton Football Club fan I had this idea we could send a photo of myself with Pat Nevin when he came on my radio show 2012. Pat lives about 500 yards from me in Duns and has done for probably 20 years now. He was a bit of a cult hero at Goodison Park right? Won't spoil the shock I got but enjoy!
  6. I was reminded on Facebook earlier in week of below experience when coming up for Maribor game at Pittodrie. Totally destroyed me all over again. Posted July 2016 on our timeline. The one thing I always remember about this game is how after Maribor scored around 83rd minute for a narrow lead we closed our eyes and spoke with Mam who had passed just over three years at said point then spoke following to her; "Come on Mam I've not made all this effort up on train today to see us get beat give us a goal." Five minutes later we drew level yet unquestionably deserved our draw that evening. These European games so soon on from one dying totally helped me through some pretty dark times. I would look up while jumping into bed in Premier Inn before blowing a kiss commenting; "Hope you enjoyed tonight." However whilst grabbing some grub before train home on Friday yours truly experienced something rather WEIRD!!! Totally enjoying one's food Frankie & Benny style we'd CONVINCED myself Mam had started talking to me. Obviously sat alone at some two seated table Lee DEFINITELY heard following; "Hello Son, you alright?" I then looked up from plate despite rucksack staring straight back replying; "Yeah, I'm doing fine Mam!" Took three or four seconds as reality dawned she wasn't actually present. Foreign waitress came across room asking; "Are you OK Sir?" I'd had tears STREAMING DOWN BOTH CHEEKS!! "Yes, I'll be super duper soon thanks." Her voice CRYSTAL CLEAR is what's ******* us over right now.
  7. I've sent a wee message to Manc Don about availability of my book given where they live. Can somebody let he or she know so one can take action whatever that may be. Hopefully be able to get a copy out to them somehow.
  8. With Ramadani and Miovski playing together recently in Hungary and now Richardson and Roberts with Notts County I've got the following running through my head. Think I'll struggle to sleep tonight!!
  9. I'm in such a good mood with the arrival of Bojan Miovski I thought we'd give three copies of my 2008 book 'Hemiplegic Utopia' away to the first three people who message me with their address. For those who haven't read yet it is a collection of ten short short stories about our earlier life which includes a chapter and a half on my love for Aberdeen Football Club.
  10. I see Bob Dylan is doing some shows soon and he says if anybody wants to attend they must be prepared to have their phone put away in some secure locker. When I heard this we thought to myself; "I wish we could do this at football matches too." It has really become a big bug bear of mine that supporters constantly film every corner, free-kick, penalty whatever. JUST LIVE IN THE BLOODY MOMENT! I actually think we as a society are going to the gutter on this matter. Stone Roses intro below really does say what I feel. But then I'm from Manchester and us Manc's know the score.
  11. Out of all the players Aberdeen have had since season 1989-90 when I started following us Scott Booth was not the one we'd be expecting to see commentating on Women's Football like!!
  12. I've always tried to keep an eye on Bologna since one of my favourite foreign strikers Sweden's Kennet Andersson played for them. I used to buy him on Sensible World of Soccer ALL THE TIME along with South African frontman Sean Dundee who when he signed for Liverpool we jumped up off my Mam's sofa and absolutely crushed my head off the ceiling!!
  13. Everybody happy with the left back position???
  14. I must have missed Portugal beating them 2-0. Mind I've lost a lot of interest in international football last few years.
  15. I thought they beat Italy in Rome to qualify??
  16. Just thinking. Does the signing of Miovski mean we'll have at least one player at the World Cup in Qatar?!?!
  17. I'm not sure if a Drum Cover video is allowed but we can't stop watching this. Never been a fan of Michael Jackson but way Mr Moffett does hit those two cymbal behind him at 3:44 is just captivating beyond belief.
  18. Can somebody provide me with the details regarding our youth team winning that tournament last week? You know who they beat along the way. I'd read somewhere it was a 64 team competition. Maybe being dim but can't find any real information about it. What age group were these lads too? U-13's?? Cheers!!
  19. I bought the most recent White Lies album blindly as we have a habit of choosing my new music that way. Basically because one has been struggling mentally lately we chose 'As I Try Not To Fall Apart' and so glad as I've now heard this absolute gem below. Started doing 'Air Guitar' naked the riff which is pretty obvious did something to my damaged brain to give it some respite for a few hours.
  20. When I lost my Mam nine years ago we needed some dumbed down TV to distract me from the fact I lost her to primary Lung secondary Brain cancer in just 55 days aged 55. I found Made In Chelsea! Can't believe I'm still watching it religiously nearly a decade later. I'm too intelligent for the programme but it does give us some much needed respite.
  21. I had an email exchange in December 2021 with my publisher of 'Hemiplegic Utopia' Augur Press. Our debut short story collection has sold 182 copies that they are aware about during these last fourteen years. This doesn't count a copy which got sent to Archbishop of Canterbury (laughed my head off when Mirabelle told me that!) when it first came out among other copies they have handed to people we don't know. Apparently somebody Australian based bought it past six month. Again made me chuckle as some old lady outside Butcher a day or two later when asking what I did for a living reacted to one claiming he was a writer when Mr Seymour could be bothered with; "So you've gone global if selling something in Australia!" Loved innocence where above comment concerned. It made me think has my book been a success? Please discuss. I just don't know myself if I've done well or not. Have some copies at flat for those who haven't read our stuff. Only £7. We give said £3.50 profit from any sale to The Margaret Kerr Unit who looked after my Mam before she passed away due to a 55 day battle fighting primary Lung secondary Brain cancer 2013 aged just 55 years old. Especially seeing as any potential paycheque doesn't and hasn't happened a lot.
  22. Was watching a tribute to Manchester City winning the league last week. It had this song on in background. I love when a football video has right music to it!!! Given Citeh have won two league title ten year apart on final day by score of 3-2 and the uphill battle it was both times we bet their support would appreciate the lyric within this corker!!!
  23. Some of you might remember me talking about Marseille reaching 1999 UEFA Cup Final by drawing ALL FIVE of their matches on said road. I've somehow stumbled across a channel which does appear to have many of these cool video showing goals from European competition before it changed to like Champions League and Europa League. Well we found all of Marseille's collection as seen below. Their striking quartet was Fabrizio Ravanelli, Christophe Dugarry, Florian Maurice and Titi Camara!!!! What a motley crew that is!!!! Do folk have any favourite partnerships in football that would maybe be frowned upon by fellow fans????
  24. Saw Scott Severin's sizzler against Rangers on Final Day shared via Twitter earlier. Just me or is Jamie Smith's cushioned header so underrated??
