Supporters Club's Response to OF Tax
tom_widdows replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I see it as if me and a few thousand more fans of all clubs start boycotting games then the clubs might actually start to see how much money they make from us and actually start taking our opinions seriously At the moment they dont care because TV money is the most important cash cow for them which is why we ended up with monday night football and in the past, 605pm sunday kick offs. But TV money without the fan revenue suddeny isnt as much. Im only one person but frankly I can use the £100-150 a year i spend going to matches against the old firm on better things. -
Supporters Club's Response to OF Tax

Well I was bored so i sent one I dont know about anyone else but I am going to boycott all home and away matches with the old firm from now on. I know financially this will probably hurt the club and on the field it might even hurt the team (Ill let the GUASC decide that) but If I do it then maybe a few more will and so on. Personally I think that this press release yer talking about should not just include Aberdeen fans. Id personally would like a link up with fans of the other 9 clubs and see if a mass boycott can be organised. -
Jamie Smith at left-back!

fuck those who decided to have a jolly to holland. The fans invest a great deal of money in the club to produce results on the pitch WHEN IT MATTERS ie league, cup, europe etc. Playing the dutch equivalent of 'banks of dee' with players who are borderline injured is asking for trouble. I seriously doubt that there are any fans who having missed out the zwolle and arnhem games decided to jump on easy jet yesterday of this morning so they could watch us play a dutch amateur side. Play your devils advocat game somewhere else -

surely if there was any sanity in the club it would be a case of Dear dutch amateur team. We have unfortunately suffered a large amount of injuries and as such cannot field a team for tonights friendly. We apologise for your inconvienience etc etc BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO we have to try and get the rest of the first team squad on the treatment table What possible sanctions could we be slapped with if we didnt bother turning up? -
Im defining one on one as a situation in which you are clear and have the option of going round the keeper, chipping him, stiking it under him etc. Having thought about it the last time I remember a dons player doing this was May 2006 when John stewart scored against celtic on the last day of the season. In every other 'one on one' situation ive seen since then our striker has always hit it straight at the keepers legs

Oh surprise fucking surprise When was the last time you can recall an aberdeen player scoring from a one on one with the keeper?

THE OFFICIAL: "LET'S ALL LAUGH AT HEARTS"
tom_widdows replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Football Chat
If Clyde 2 are to be believed, the Ugfandan FA have reported hearts to FIFA over refusal to pay compensation of about £120k. Is it to be the case that after 6months hearts will simply offer him back to Uganda in exchange for waiving the fee a la belgian boy 2 seasons back? -
Not so sure about that Last December Al Bangura, 19 year old watford player had his appeal against deportation rejected. Took serious backing from the FIFPro, David Blunkett, the local MP, Elton John and a protest from 18000 Watford and Plymouth Argyle fans before the home office decided he could stay till he got a work permit which he was eventually awarded in mid january.

in a horrific tragedy that affects everyone on the planet Barry Ferguson will miss at the first 8 league games at least because he had a bit of a fall.

Adam Hammill - potential loan signing
tom_widdows replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Theres been talk of this for weeks Apparently it is us and Hibs in for him. Cant see our cuprinol and co getting their act together to get his signature -
my stream got slower and slower till eventually it was about 10mins behind the commentary not that I feel i missed out. Pre -season friendlies are so bad. There was about as much atmosphere there as with the friendly with rapid bucharest a few seasons back (and only 7000 turned up for that) Bit agrieved man u didnt at least lie down for the last minute and let us get a goal. Recall a pre season friendly they had with Wrexham in which they let the welshies score 2 goals in the last minute to claim a draw.

So her loyalty was never swayed by David Zdrillic?

The first girlfriend was a season ticket holder in the south but wanted to sit with me in the RDS which frankly was the beginning of the end as it meant my mate couldnt use my dads season ticket. Just wasnt fun anymore. She spent the time repeating comments made by other people that were funny the first time but not worthy or repetition. Scottish cup final she spent most of the game crying which wound me up no end. Second Girl was also a dons fan but much more pleasant to go to the games with but we only went to 1 game together. Personally id like to keep the 2 things seperate. Much rather go on my own or with the Glasgow Uni village people

Cant see why anyone would be surprised Setanta is effectivelly Rangers and celtic TV. at least 80% of the live setanta league games feature one of the old firm because they have the most fans, ergo the most subscribers. Ive only skimmed over the article so what exactly are fans going to be getting for all this extra cash they shelled out? Are there going to be more live TV games? Are they going to invest in a few thousand inflatable dummies to stick in the stadiums and make it look like there are actually people there? Will there be live footage from inside the pubs where large chunks of the fans will be instead of the stadiums? (anyone remember a few years back when I think channel 5 had the rights to the league cup and the crowd was so low they actually put a camera in a pub that was about 100 yards from easter road to show the celebrations when hibs scored?)

As i recall the last deal was split 50-50 50% old firm 50% - the other 10 So the normal teams were getting £2.725 Million each and are now going to get £6.25million each rangers and celtic were getting just over £13.625million each and are now going to get £31.25million each Could have made it a level playing field and given everyone £10.416million each but nooooooooooo In the words of frankie Boyle 'its just more money for Bastards'

What's your greatest hope for this season? Our defence to return to the standard it was 2 seasons ago - And your biggest fear? Our defence to get worse - Most important player Jamie Smith. If he can stay fit for longer than 3days every quarter then suddenly our attack might have some structure - Cult hero/terrace favourite Not so much a hero as a liability but i think its Richie Byrne. One thing to surely get the adrenaline pumping is whether or not he is actually going to be risked - Keep an eye out for. (young player) This young boy hamill. kepe an eye out cos hes probably going to end up at hibs and be taking the piss out of us - Player you'd happily drive to his next club. Want to say severin but with macnamara fucking off he might actually see himself as one of the 'old heads' and start actually leading by example - What one change would you make at your club? id like to see a bit more sense when it comes to ticket prices and offers to get the fans back in. Bringing back the same ticket arrangement for the merkland that they had back in the early 90s which saw that stand almost always sold out. Only charging £25 (if that) for the seats in the front section of the main stand with the restricted view in the back section being cheaper than the south stand. Perhaps charging less for seats that are uncovered. Perhaps even making the main stand 'the family stand' - Have you got the right manager? Never really been happy with the guy. But then again the only manager ive liked since I became a fan was Ebbe. - What advice would you give him? Is someone is a defender then dont play him as an attacker etc etc - Which team do you most want to beat this season? Dundee United at tannadice - Opposition player you despise Either Scott brown or Arthur Boruc - Opposition player you secretly admire Noel Hunt - Where will you finish? between 3rd and 12th

See in yon video for Cove Rangers that they are getting a new community stadium with 5 full pitches + a couple of 7-as side pitches. (im presuming that at least some of these will be astroturf?) on the south side Are these facilities up for grabs for the dons or is it to be the case that a highland league / possile 3rd division team in the same city has decent facilities and diamond and co have to continue to make do with the beach and seaton park? http://www.coveforthesfl.com/

Andy Dows last minute extra time winner in the league cup quarter final 119mins of rangers taking pot shots at our goal only for their keeper to spill our only shot and dow to put in the rebound from 1 yard out. Still the only time ive seen us beat rangers in person Chris Clarkes 97th minute winner at easter Road on the opening day of the 2002/03 season. About 1min b4 Kjaer had kept us level with an unbelieveable save and then I think Young hit a random shot come cross and clarke stuck his foot out. About 3000 dons fans there filling the whole stand which apparenlty no one had anticipated. Darren Mackies winner at Parkhead just for the ceebrations. Plus id never seen us beat either of the old firm away from home. Andy Dows Free kick against the arabs way back in 1999. Our first league goal and the way it went in was almosted scripted. Eoin Jess's (im not a fan of him in the slightest by the way) last minute free kick at tannadice in the 5-3 win. Leave it to Aberdeen to go 3-0 up, then 4-1 with 2mins to go only for it to end up 4-3 with united pushing an equaliser. jess finally ended it as a contest. Darren Mackie putting us 2-1 up against rangers 5mins aftter Leon Mike had equalised. A real slow motion moment when you saw mackie completely unmarked and sticking his napper on the ball.

season 1993/94 in a 4-1 win over Raith Rovers at Pittodrie Mcleish had possession of the ball close to the touchline and sidestepped a tackle at the last second that sent the raith boy sliding into the south stand boarding. He then hoofed the ball up to shearer. Some guy behind us shouts 'Alec, fuckin brilliant big man!' to which mcleish turned round and said 'Aye. it was magic wasnt it' As you can tell, pittodrie was its usual cauldron of noise
