  1. It's ok looking good at Hampden but how are these fancy foreigners gonna cope on a freezin' January night in Darvel eh?
  2. 11 defeats in 22 league games is a horrendous record. I know new players take time to bed in but I just don't think it is working for Goodwin. His tenure has all been a bit of a pantomime with a lot of naivety shown from Considine leaving, the Porteous incident, whatever has gone on with Ramirez and his statement at the start about third being the minimum requirement. Anthony Stewart's comment about Morelos the other day just put the icing on the cake. The job at times seems too big for him and I think he massively underestimated how big a club he was coming too especially the fact that everything a Dons manager says gets scrutinised in a way that he has not had in his previous clubs.
  3. Apart from being utterly shite at Cardiff and Man Utd, what you seein in Solskjaer? At least Goodwin showed promise of maybe becoming a good manager whilst at his previous clubs but Solskjaer? or are you just going on the premise of he is foreign so he will be superb or R U just taking the piss by suggesting him?
  4. Not saying you are necessarily wrong Rico, but none of us know what Steven Gunn does on a day to day basis, how good he is at what he does and how well he is doing compared to others in the same field.
  5. It scares me how much this is starting to mirror previous regimes with round pegs in square holes which is one of my biggest gripes with managers. Our starting line up last night had a winger at right back when we signed a recognised right back in the summer. Johnny Hayes, a left winger, playing on the right when we seemed to have about a million wingers a few months ago so just play him in his proper position. Duk should be playing centrally. McCrorie just chucked in another role because he is seemingly a utility man who never gets asked to play the same role two weeks in a row. Besuijen we were told was some kind of unpolished diamond who would make us millions yet he starts on the bench again. Coulson is meant to be a left back but is never in position hence the Hearts goals. Clarkson and Scales aside, who are not our players, are any of the summer signings actually better than what we had last season? I'm not sure. ................and what's the deal with Connor Barron? Why is he warming the bench? In conclusion, to me a 5-0 defeat by Hearts is a P45 job.
  6. I'm not sure what is going on with refereeing at the moment and I am not one of those that is into conspiracy theories about the old firm getting all of the breaks. The refs just seem to be pleasing themselves at the moment and the whole VAR thing has made things ten times worse. As an example, Kent pulled someone back by the shirt yesterday, the ref blew for a free kick but chose not to book him which is just plain wrong. The offside thing is on its arse as well. Much though I loved our goal yesterday, it's an absolute farce how the defenders can hold a line to play someone offside yet another player steams through the middle and scores. Similar to Man Utd's winning goal on Saturday. If that's going to happen you might as well just scrap offsides totally because there's no point in a defender ever trying to play someone offside. The game is becoming a joke. We did well yesterday though. I don't think we are ever going to outplay Rangers for the entirety because they have better players but we stuck in and were unlucky not to equalise in the end. Scales looks a right good defender. Shinnie, great signing. Still not overly convinced on the goalie. Are we any better than last season? Jury still out. Will be a hard game against Hearts after ET yesterday.
  7. Heard a rumour we were trying to get Ryan Jack back. I'm sure he would be warmly welcomed.
  8. £10 to watch Buckie on a stream! I thought Sky were ripping me off but I’ve changed my mind. Edit: that should really be on the totally deluded cunts thread
  9. I do love this goal
  10. Roberto Martinez “on the brink” of becoming Portugal manager. I don’t need to add any more.
  11. Does anyone know if you can watch our games live in the UK simply by using a VPN if you subscribe to Red TV? And, do you need to use a non-UK address when you subscribe?
  12. Tremendous BigAl. Delighted for Smith because if he had lost that one he was sure to be branded as a loser forever in some quarters. I’m sure Van Gerwen did not think he could possibly lose by playing that standard of darts but Smith was just brilliant. A few new stars born in that tournament as well, Josh Rock looks one to watch and the big German was excellent too.
  13. Very sad to hear. Always came across as a genuinely lovely man. On a football level his CV is phenomenal.
  14. This At last, a Scottish signing. His best years may be behind him but we have signed someone with a genuine will to win, tenacity and desire who should grab a few by the scruff of the neck and drive the team on. I'd almost say his character is the most important part of this signing, above what he will offer on a technical level on the pitch. I said this before in a previous post, we are few too easy to play against. We conceded just 5 fouls against Ross County, which is a recurring theme. Time to roll the sleeves up, get stuck in and be a bit more horrible.
  15. Interesting topic BigAl. I've never seen Back to the future.
  16. Noticed that McKenna has been on the bench since the league resumed in England. Putting two and two together but wondered whether he may be earmarked for a January transfer and they did not want him getting injured. Seems strange to have been dropped all of a sudden when he was such a constant on the Forest team sheet.
  17. Forget signings, transfer windows, formations and style of play for a moment. Biggest issue for me is we are far too easy to play against. A lot people say a team is often the mirror image of their manager and with Goodwin it seems nothing could be further from the truth. There’s no one in our team the opposition would hate to be playing against. There’s no one nasty, we don’t concede enough fouls, not enough bookings. He was past it by the time he came to Pittodrie but we need a couple with the Scott Brown mentality.
  18. McInnes signed Logan, Robson and Rooney. Not sure why winning the league cup on penalties is scoffed at like it doesn’t could as a trophy. Are we not classing Argentina as proper world champions because they did not win the cup in the 90 minutes? Pretty sure we would all take a win on penalties in the forthcoming semi final. I’d also argue that the league is no better now than it was 10 years ago, Rangers aside. Utd, Hibs and Hearts are no better than the teams they replaced. The performances in Europe this season demonstrated just that. So far Goodwin has had a fortune to spend and produced very little.
  19. Disappointed with how McInnes left us and Cormack did not appreciate how good a manager he had inherited, I believe he is starting to see it now with the two pantomimes that have followed. Would not begrudge McInnes an opportunity to give Cormack the two fingers.
  20. We were 2-1 up in the 94th minute so on that basis, he got it absolutely spot on, yes. Any team 2-1 down in injury time fighting for the league is going to put you under a bit of pressure in the last couple of minutes but fuck me, I could have stuck 11 traffic cones on the pitch instead of our players and Rangers would have struggled to score TWO goals inside three minutes. Our players bottled it, nothing to do with tactics. Was it bad tactics to cover Roos’ gloves with butter or something?
  21. It’s very harsh to blame Goodwin. I did wonder what he was playing at taking off our three main threats with half an hour left but that had nothing to do with the result and is a different debate. Last night was down to pure bottle and failure to handle the occasion. No way any team should be losing two goals in the 95th and 97th minutes. Saturday was a different story because Celtic were pushing and pushing and will do that to a lot of teams but don’t hang the manager out to dry because his players bottled it last night. That was nothing to do with tactics.
  22. Redevelop the existing Pittodrie since Cormack only wants to build a 15,000 seater anyway. Surely plenty of room at the back of the RDS to build a museum and a pile of hospitality suites. Job done. ÂŁ30M saved
  23. Some height o a loon that number 5 Surely the next Ash Taylor.
  24. Take it easy SeaBass. Despite what crap you might read at times, it really is just a game. 12 teams start the league season but 11 of them lose and the fans still follow their team. I've read in the past of your love for snooker. You'll get 32 players start the world championship and 31 of them lose but people still tune in despite the fact that their favourite will probably not win. Try to enjoy it for what it is, just sport. The Dons have no divine right to beat anyone and just because they are not brilliant every time they step onto the park does not mean they are not trying. Sometimes you just end up second best but there's always the next game.
