  1. 8, just not sure how they'll arrive.............
  2. Did he not say something very similar, in as much as he wanted 11 new players at one point I'm reading this as Brown wants to move just about everybody out but figures it is going to take 2+ years to find the money, finish the contracts on those who no-one would buy from us, find replacements etc. But I do admit, my first thought was - getting his excuses in early !
  3. I've heard he can keep the play flowing, but does go a bit hot and cold.
  4. Despite meeting their criteria, apparently they're not willing to pay my airfare over every week. I guess they're just not that committed to looking after us fat fans after all..................
  5. Glad you lot fixed it. Try not to break it again.
  6. No, but it does indicate that maybe there's a lack of quality 'keepers around.
  7. Now that we're mathematically safe, I forsee the return of fear free, flowing, beautiful football.
  8. On his day, aye. But his days on dinnae always seem to coincide with the days he's meant to be working. I'm fine if he stays but I'd be hoping the club keeps looking for his replacement, because one is needed.
  9. It's a process of elimination. Once he's had a go at every position and is shite at them all, he can then be sent back dahn sarf
  10. 12 points ahead with 5 games to go...................
  11. I think Chelsea's title dreams will crumble after that game.
  12. I've always liked watching Arsenal since the George "1 -0 to the arsenal" Graham days. My sister lives in London and her bf is a serious gooner, so I've been paying even more attention to them over the last few years. There's a lot to like about them, but since they lost Viera, Petit and to a lesser extent even Flamini, they are a team that can and does get bullied about. They lack consistency, they've not had a top keeper since Seaman left, their defence needs a strong, sensible centre half, although Vermaelen should fit the bill, if he can recover and stay healthy. I think their midfield is a too lightweight, no-one other than Song seems to be a real grafter, for all Denilson floats about, he never seems to actually achieve that much. Although young Wilshere seems an excellent prospect. They do move the ball beautifully a lot of the time, but unfortunately all too often, there is no end product. Bendtner should take his pink boots and shove them up his arse, because they couldn't be any less effective up there than they are on his feet. Van Persie is all too often injured and prone to moments of complete thuggery that rather diminish his standing. It does seem common knowledge round North London that Wenger has had the money and the opportunity to spend it. He has just chosen not to, because he believes in his system and process. There are some grumblings that Wenger has had some incredible talent in his teams, but somehow he seems unable to pull it all together at crucial moments. I love watching them but if I was an Arsenal fan, as opposed to someone who sort of follows them, I think I'd be as frustrated and annoyed with them, as I am with the Dons. PS Emmanuel Eboue - why ?
  13. Scraping into the Top 6 is hardly an achievement, and not only are we miles off 3rd, we're miles off 5th. I guess the only positive about making 6th, is the extra money the club gets from the SPL. Is there a case for finishing 7th and ending the season with a morale boosting 5 wins ?

Jings, I'm agreeing with Jager about something. That's twice this season. If we're sticking with this, then like some of the others, can we have the alternated posts. Please.
  15. He's pretty smart in that interview. Burning no bridges. Aberdeen are great, huge club, best outside the OF....... Motherwell, great player effort, happy, etc etc.
  16. How long did it take to dismantle ?
  17. Let it be Mike Newell. A manager that should do a good job and I'd make some money too ...........
  18. Really don't see what the attraction is for chasing Motherwell managers. Are they really the best we can aspire to emulate?
  19. Well, of your suggestions so far, she certainly beats Gazza as a serious candidate.
  20. The Board really shouldn't be basing anything as important a decision as a new manager on how the fans feel about it. There's probably no-one that they could appoint who will be met with universal approval, barring SAF, (and someone is bound to complain he's too old and out of touch with scottish football) So they should just ignore t'internet talking heads and make damn sure they pick the best guy available. If they do pick a haddie who is universally unpopular, such as say, Yogi Shoos or Grumpy Gus - there will be a muted roar of outrage and then we'll all greet about how cheap and shite the Board is. All it will take for that appointment to be seen as the right one, is for the club's players to actually play like they are capable of and string some results together. I don't believe the old "too good to go down" -- this crowd are bad enough to go down for sure, but I do believe that they actually do have the quality to rescue the situation - guided by the right manager. (whoever that is........)
  21. Anyone else interested in Mike Newell? He's done reasonably well with limited resources at a couple of his clubs, found some good "bargains" and best of all, for me, isn't afraid to speak his mind.
