  1. I think that sums him up for a lot of Dons supporters Stu.
  2. Says it all for me. They may be selling their team for a king's ransom but Calderwood has done a decent job of keeping his, albiet dull, team together. Going forward I would back Aberdeen's stability to reap more reward than Hibs in the near future. Long term? Who knows, perhaps Hibs will garner some stability with all this cash they are raking in. Mixu seems like a pragmatic sort of bloke.
  3. I've bought a ticket and I'm trying to wangle it as a work trip. I've managed to see the Dons a few times as 'work trips'.
  4. I think you are completely underestimating the football knowledge and experience of Calderwood, Nicholl and Clark. I can't remember the type of football Calderwood had his Dunfemline team playing but I remember Nicholl had Raith Rovers playing some decent stuff and Sandy Clark's St.Johnstone were ok for a while. I think Calderwood and co have decided that direct football is they way to go. I agree it's not nice to watch.
  5. I always had him down as a defensive midfielder? Maybe I'm wrong.
  6. That is fucking deflating. Where is the creativity going to come from? We are now, officially, a long ball and scrapping team. No bones about it.
  7. I get the impression that because Lovell is a quiet dude Jimmy is wary of him. Just get him on the park and let him play.
  8. Yip. The move was about to fall through but I phoned up Paul Sturrock and paid for Clark's flight down to Plymouth. The best £200 I've ever spent.
  9. I wish Aberdeen would be linked with a player who actually likes to play a bit. A midfielder who can pick a pass and who has a bit of guile. All through recent history we have had them - Strachan, Bell, Bett, Jess to name a few.
  10. Brewster has a low tolerance level to ball bags; Lee Miller at United for example.
  11. I wish Clark would hurry up and fuck off. Has he spoken to Plymouth?
  12. Let Us Play by Coldcut. Timber is one of the best electronic tunes I've heard.
  13. I played a bit of Juvenile and Junior football in Arbroath and I can't remember one game when it wasn't windy as fuck.
  14. Stuart Duff is an anti-footballer. Think Darren Young without any passing ability. Definitely a Calderwood type of player.
  15. I remember the season we took the Huns to the wire Pittodrie only started filling up toward the end of the season when it looked like we had a chance of nicking it. We were playing cracking football most of the season as well. I agree with the Tradesman.
  16. Didn't Lee Miller's payslip end up on the internet, somehow, around the time he was signing?
  17. You think so Reekster? Read this... Sam Allardyce's Tombola!
  18. I expected to see a picture of Doctor Emmett L Brown when I saw you had replied to this message Funster!
  19. There's one of those old school plastic pitches in Paddington they could play it on. Can you imagine Richie Byrne and Lee Mair trying to defend on yon things?
  20. Why can't the semis take place in London for a change?
  21. Exactly min. It's the same old folk who love to moan, moan, moan on Hat.
  22. Aye, I think Calderwood would have signed by now had he been able to keep his top earners. As it stands it looks like we will lose Nicholson and Miller to this latest, what seems like, cost cutting exercise. I wish the clubs upper management would stop dishing out these big contracts if they can't afford them in the first place as it all ends up in a mess like it did at the end of Skovdhals reign and how it is looking to turn out now. I expect Calderwood to leave at the whiff of a medium sized English championship job.
