5th Tier in English Football, crazy. But he'd be a fantastic signing for them, managed by Graham Alexander. Would it mean we are after 2 strikers then, given that we're after one now, or has this been in the making for a few weeks now? Would definitely be sad to see him go, but I think his limits are preventing us pushing on in terms of what's required. Cosgrove is decent enough at holding the ball up, Rooney is a decent goalscorer, and not quite sure what May is yet. But in reality, we're losing ( IF he goes ) our only natural finisher, unless May reverts to form this season.

They really are a shower of cunts.

Taken from the BBC Sport article.... Aberdeen say Rogers is "regarded as a future number one" and can recall the player outside transfer windows, should they wish to do so. So we can recall him at any time? Might just go with with one of the development lads as back up on the bench then, and recall Rogers should Lewis pick up any knocks, probably unlikely, but never know.
-
That's a rather strange one, we are short of numbers as it is, Rogers is good enough to be back up to Lewis, and now means we'll be looking to use more of the budget on a good enough back up now, I would imagine anyway. Where's Freddie Woodman away too?

Roger Federer out Was 2-0 up in sets, but Kevin Anderson fought back amazingly to win 3-2. Absolutely chuffed for him.

Is there a deadline for registering players for the Europa League? Seem to remember this being mentioned last season or the season before? If so, we are obviously nearing that & I am not convinced we are where we should be in terms of a first 11. A lot of panic doing the rounds on Social Media that McInnes has failed to land his primary targets and now other's are not so keen to join, not sure anyone could know that for definite, probably just folks being impatient. Nowak is allegedly being announced today, but he'll clearly be back up.

You know Bobby, was speaking to my younger brother about Football a few days ago, I used to play in the Glasgow Community & Co-Operative League, few years back now, was a Central Midfielder, we even played the staff at Hampden, at mini Hampden, in a pre season friendly, they had a scout for Queens Park there and he invited myself and another lad to a few training sessions with them, but wasn't at all feasible sadly. The problem is though, our team was all from Ayrshire and there was always drivers that went to training & games obviously, so getting there and back was never an issue. Since then, I have genuinely put on a few stone & really doubt I'd last 45 minutes let alone 90 minutes. Such a shame, I really do miss it, my brother was reminiscing about some of the games he used to come and watch. Made me hate the fact I am getting older. Hope you get a squad sorted and best of luck for the season.

Krystian Nowak, formerly of Hearts, has posted an image of himself in an Aberdeen top, number 22. Possibly the back up CB we need. Must stress though, it's not been confirmed that he's signing, but the image is there, could just be on trial I suppose. Can't remember him at Hearts truth be told, but we do need bodies Also, given that numbers are a bit light, I see Ali Crawford is still without a club after his Hearts trial went south due to Naismith returning there, would nobody take him purely as an experienced squad player? I reckon we could do worse than have him on the bench or cover Forrester for injuries/suspensions.

Has he been involved in any of the Pre-Season games, honestly can't remember.

Also, I completely appreciate it's the Sun, but there are quotes from their manager, Marquis has said coming to Aberdeen would be a sideways step and it doesn't interest him coming here https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2908299/john-marquis-aberdeen-transfer-news-doncaster-grant-mccann/

I had a quick look at Doidge on YouTube, he doesn't appear to be that big and bullying. He actually showed nifty feet and clever finishing, obviously that's just my take from YT highlights, but looks decent enough. If you have seen him enough to make that judgement, I am happy to accept it. But I believe McInnes when he's said we move on, don't think Marquis will be Aberdeen bound any time soon. Given that Eisa is clearly out of our price range, who else would you recommend from that division?
-
Here is the quote from McInnes regarding Marquis. On Marquis, he said: “We put a bid in. but not the fee that was reported. “An offer was put in and it was rejected so we look elsewhere. “We don’t have any more than what we offered to spend. “We made an offer and it was rejected.” Apparently it was 250k as I alluded too in the original post. Surely we can afford more than that? Then again we paid a fee for Forrester and we will have to pay something for Ferguson, so maybe not. Makes sense why we are looking at players like Doidge and Marquis in the first place.
-
And now Willo Flood's dream move to Bali Utd has collapsed, clearance being the problem. Couldn't make that shit up  Worth a look.......
-
Apparently turned our interest from John Marquis, to Forest Green Rovers Striker Christian Doidge. Edit to add, if the EE are to be believed, we offered 250k for Marquis, and McInnes has said that's our limit, we have nothing more to offer.

I checked the source of that tweet, this is a non story.

Started the match with Frank Ross, Lewis Ferguson & Scott Wright as the 3 behind Rooney & young Dean Campbell partnering Shinnie. Devlin started alongside McKenna and played 60 minutes I think? A win, a clean sheet & debuts for our new additions ( and a goal from one of them ) so all in all, happy days.

Aurtenetxe also been heavily linked with Leeds, I have asked Alan Nixon on Twitter, he's usually on the ball with English transfers ( as he's based down there ) but also knew about Stockley & then Cosgrove, coming to us, so will see if he replies. Aurtenetxe was a steady performer for Dundee, not a stand out, but not shite either, he was pretty good in terms of technical ability and certainly had a good cross. Wouldn't be too disappointed with him if there's truth in it. Played over 70 games for Athletic Bilbao up until 2016.
-
They imposed one for Wednesday, then again for yesterday, and now it would seem today, he's obviously weighing up his options very carefully, which to be fair, is right given that he's closing in on hanging up his boots. FWIW, i'd take him, guys clearly still fit & a goal threat, vastly experienced and would still cause defences in this league all sorts of problems, but I do feel he'll opt for Livingston......eventually.

Willo Flood joins Dunfermline 9 days ago, leaves today to join Bali Utd.

Official Europa League Thread 2018/19
KennyFuckinPowers replied to BigAl's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Despite my earlier disgruntlement at this draw initially, I think this is our best chance, granted they are difficult to break down, but they certainly don't score an awful lot either, and whilst I can't see there being many goals at Pittodrie, a clean sheet to take down there could be absolutely massive. Of course, I'd love us to take a 2-0/3-0 down there, but that's highly unlikely. Would literally bite all of your nuts off for a 1-0 to take down there. I am certainly not as negative as I initially was, and I think Forrester & Gleeson are both going to prove to be very good additions, both domestically & in Europe, particularly Gleeson. -
Daniel Harvie signs for Ayr United, according to Ian McCall, McInnes offered him a new contract, but he turned it down to seek first team opportunities. Wasn't aware that we'd offered him a new contract, thought he was just released.
-
Cauley Woodrow on loan, allegedly, another we've been linked with in previous windows.
-
Just find it odd that they have announced players, even another 2 today, yet this one still hasn't been confirmed. Apparently he can play both Right Back & Left Back, exactly the type of covering player we need. And regarding Hayes, my personal opinion is, first of all, yes, permanent deal please, and if he can rediscover even half of his form/goals/assists, he'd be very valuable, I can't see it happening though, he'll go to Preston, or some other club down south, on loan.

Regarding this mystery around Aaron McGowan, Hamilton have signed, and announced, another player today, surely if he was going there, it would have been announced by now The same could be said of us of course, if it was here he was coming, having already announced Forrester & Gleeson. All a bit bizarre, no?
