  1. Said the same before the game against the hun. Needing players badly, far weaker than last season.
  2. Hopefully not out for long, classy player, light years ahead of O'Connor.
  3. Cant see where the goals are coming from tbh! really disappointed still no striker aboard as was supposed to be happening. Suppose i would be content with a draw, not sure what to expect today.
  4. Remember that agm at the Capitol, wasnt sure if ID was being serious or not ? Turns out he was . As you say , 2 or 3k more punters would have covered his o.t.t wages, but far too ambitious for a club like ours
  5. According to evening paper, D.M hopes to have another striker on board before huns game.
  6. Take it one of the trialists was Nowak ?
  7. Fair point re the cost of having full time scouts in said countries, but there must be alternatives to shopping in the over hyped, over inflated English leagues. We have ex players & managers in some of these countries for instance, worth having a word in their shell like? Presume they left the club on decent terms. Some teams manage to recruit well offering far less money i'm sure, Motherwell for instance.
  8. Didnt realise that the over inflated English Championship was the only league to find a striker ?? If we were willing to pay a £300/400k fee for a player, why not look in Eastern Europe or Scandinavia ? Lazy scouting network thats what it is. We should not be starting the season without a recognised striker, just hope we get someone in in the next week or so, or we will struggle.
  9. Really enjoyable evening with the draw a fair result. We tired quite a lot 2nd half & they got stronger. Burnley's goal should have been avoided, bit of a mix up between the impressive Devlin & McKenna. Best atmosphere i have heard at Pittodrie for years, the old lady was rocking. Thought all our new signings did well & actually Dom Ball was my m.o.t.m. Cosgrove was very good & won so many knockdowns in the air, he really needs someone alongside, tired badly 2nd 45,as did quite a few others. They had a few cracking players , Lennon was a real handfull & ive always rated that Sam Volkes, big unit. Happy enough we are still in it, before my trip down there next week. C.o.y.r
  10. So no striker then, find this quite baffling tbh ! struggling to see where the goals are coming from, ah well hoping May or Cosgrove come good, happy enough with rest of squad apart from up top
  11. Seen that aswell, dont know much about the Watford fella, but Cerny is a good keeper & great backup. Still expecting a striker aboard, hopefully tonight
  12. So the Sun has us going in for Moult in a loan deal & the Record has us after McQueen. Would love to see Moult here, should we not break the bank & try for a permanent though ? Liking the look of all our signings so far though, with young Lewis Ferguson (in particular) looking like one for now & not the future
  13. Decent enough workout for both teams, but just hope Wright's knock not too serious as i believe McGinn still not fit. WBA looked like they had another gear tbh, plain to see they have been playing at top level. Poor crowd, decent amount of pissed up baggies walking about though. Like the look of new signings in the middle of park, Forrester looks very composed & i'm beginning to see why Hamilton want more dosh for Ferguson , can see WBA coming straight back up tbh. We really urgently need to buy a striker or 2 though. Devlin & McKenna starting to form a really good understanding & i would like to see Shinnie kept at left back, some encouraging signs
  14. I can see Louis Moult here in the next couple of days on a permanent deal, source my own gut feeling.
  15. Yes, as things stand at the moment, we are far,far weaker than we were even last season, if & a big if we managed to stay relatively injury/suspension free we might be ok, but a couple of injuries could see us well & truly goosed. One to watch this season for me is Lewis Ferguson (really looks the part) Hopefully see another 3 or 4 recruits before season opener.
  16. Mabye, both clubs in same predicament mate, but there is a difference £££££, whereas you can go out & splash out millions & 20k a week , we are offering tops £200k & 3k a week, huge difference.
  17. Going against some of the other replies here,i'm actually pleased Ball is coming back for another stint. I actually thought it might happen (& said so , at the end of last season), chances are, he will probably be back up anyway but i think he is a very capable holding midfielder. T.b.h i have more concerns about who is going to be (hopefully) banging them in this season, would like to see a more mobile goal grabber as we dont have one.
  18. Scott Wright looking really impressive & trialist c.b looked o.k
  19. Quite impressed with a couple of new recruits, Forrester very tidy on the ball & Ferguson got a real dig in him. Horrible end to match & big Andy was visibly distressed.
  20. Hope we are not left with another scratching around scenario, panic buys anyone ?
  21. Totally surprised Rogers is away on loan again, especially to a club in the same league Presume that means he cant play against us ? I also presume we already have another keeper in mind ? Got to say our lack of transfer activity is quite alarming
  22. Cant understand the logic of playing a bunch of hammerthrowers in a 'friendly' before the start of the season, result , a few players with injuries Gleesons in particular sounds worrying. Bad decision to play a big, physical team so early.
